Jank. By drenching itself in the excuse of being a 'classic experience', the developers have attempted to wash themselves clean of any criticism or observations of the lack of quality. "But old games were janky!" might go the reasoning, which is not so disimilar from "But old games weren't functional!" and then swap 'functional' for 'polished' and then swap polished for finished and then finished for 'good'. Once you've created an excuse, youve already created and excuse for another excuse. If you have a good *reason* however, then it isn't an excuse. Let's go on. I personally know the people who created every single asset in this game, and it isn't the people who "made" this game. I was fine with spending money on an asset swap, but holy lord in the clouds does this entire game seem like a swap. Not a lazy swap - I'm sure it certainly took time to place all the things in the world and make sure they weren't riddled with bugs - but my my my does the experience still come out as lacking. And let's talk about that. Bland. Bland is such a better word for 'Classic'. Sure, the developers were going for a mix of Skyrim and World of Warcraft, but boy howdy did they just throw their brains into a very active meat grinder when it came to writing the story. The fact that there is ANY voice acting is a marvel here. Tropes abound - Nay, I correct myself - Tropes are the bricks upon which the entire fabric of the universe of Geodonia exist. "Classic" games had more compelling storylines and quests than this. "But it's only $2!" I hear you say. So are any number of indie games. If a price parity argument is what you're after, then it only strengthens the position that other games offer better experiences. Geodonia seems to fall into the falacy that "More is better" and boy howdy do we have Filler City here. Daggerfall would be envious with how stuffed the world of Geodonia is with copy-paste samey trope-slop. Yes, the game may have come out in.... oh. Oh it only came out in 2022. Oh... It is sad that in this day and age, an endless amount of FREE content exists on the internet for people to consume that is immediately many multiples of higher quality than Geodonia. Web comics, Youtube, c0rn, web-browser games, newgrounds, tiktok, instagram, etc etc etc.... hell, even WoW is free and has been for a long time. The only way this game can be worth anyone's time is if it's one of their first games, or because it holds some weird fascination to them for being so lacking and 'different', since there follows likely good reason people do not create such cliched asset-swap titles as Geodonia. Avoid, if you have ever held a fulltime job in your life, even once.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Overall, it's a good game and a very good deal. The developers created many different classes, but from the beginning, the protagonist's class and gameplay are limited. From the mid-game onwards, you spend 90% of the time using only 2 or 3 attack methods, making the gameplay repetitive and lacking in variety. I gave up when I reached Frozen Temple.
Epic game. like a single player mmo: harvesting nodes, clearing dungeons, putting skill points in the talent tree, made a house to store my gear, going on an epic quest, side quests. quests have choices. got a companion that follows me around and casts holy spells. i can put gear on him and choose abilities for him. got a horse early on, exploring is fun. game is not punishing. absolutely a joy to play. Voice acting is extremely hit or miss, but its cute. my character felt very weak until i leveled up a bit.
This game tries to be a jack of all trades, but in doing so, it just feels like an unpolished and hollow passion project. Honestly, the voice acting was so bad that I started skipping the dialogue, which totally ruined the story and my enjoyment. Right now, I'm just rushing through it so I can say I gave it my best shot, but the map is so huge and empty between points of interest that playing it feels like a chore. If it were half the size and focused on quality over quantity, it would have been top-tier. Gedonia 2 is out in Early Access, and I thought picking up the first game would be a cheap way to see if I'd like the series. Unfortunately, I'm no longer interested in the sequel.
Load times are terrible
more poorly made than a Roblox game. save your money.
I did really enjoy the game and looked past the jank for the first 20 hours. But at a certain point I just couldn't get past a few things. First, the animations and the combat is just awful. It just didn't feel snappy. This game suffers from feeling like you are always floating and that there isn't a weight to your actions. One skill in particular from the melee class had a 1.5 second delay which I just hated using, but was integral to my build. The user experience overall felt very poor. Another thing is the overall balance. At first I liked the progression of a two handed melee character but after a few hours my character became so ungodly overpowered. I managed to get the gladiator's armor quickly and then after completing the haunted mansion (which is the third area you visit in the early game) my damage skyrocketed and I could insta kill almost anything. The voice acting was also bad. The voice animation is just awful that I would have preferred to just read walls of text instead. You can't just get immersed into a story when the characters talk like AI generated voices. The writing was certainly not good too. There were a few good things that surprised me though. For example, I did not expect a decent house building mechanics in this game, and the exploration truly was the only thing that kept me hooked. A lot of triple A games today struggle with simply creating engaging exploration content. I really appreciate what the developer attempted to do here, but I can't recommend the game in this state. I still believe the developer can improve the game by adding more weight to the gameplay, fixing animations and the overall jankiness. This should be fixed otherwise people will not be so eager to try Gedonia 2.
First of, I love Oblivion & Skyrim. This game sucked me in and I played it nonstop for 4.2hours. It´s strangely charming. If you look at the screenshots only or don´t try it yourself its hard to "see" the magic with it. Morale dilemmas. Help the peasants or the wizard. I choose to neither help the peasants or the wizard and kill them all, Justice is served. I have enjoyed this immesnly because the game lets you choose what you want to do and dont force the morale higher ground ontop of you. You can choice something more sinister or a more pragmatical aproach to things if you want. This is seldom the cause in AAA titles so its the most fresh thing for me really. I would say you can by it purely based on that. Check the bottom for such quest and you will probably be very intrigued to play it :) + Open world, Enormously big, Kind of got chocked how much content there is in his game. and very enjoyable to travel around in and solve quests in + Gamepad optimized very wellmade even though u can not rebind them which is a tad sad. - Quest system tracking is extremly bad or broken. You are told to talk to the necromancer on a beach but no information where that beach is located and the area you are in is immensly big, then when u manage to find her youre told to buy a shovel and dig up graves behind "the village" but no info about what village or where it is located. I thought it was the first village you start in but that is not the case and you can also not buy a shovel there haha :D So I´m going at quests and finish them that is possible. Graphics When I saw the trailer I was nt impressed in any way and it feelt like a shallow game where someone wanted to create a game but did´nt get anyone to make the grahpics. This is 100% wrong. It´s a very well optimized game with very good viewdistance. Nothing poops in. Even a game like Dying light has problems with zombies just popping in. Not so here. The grass is very lush and it feels very epic when you travel big fields, the feeling in the caves are fantastic. But I feel stronger, I´m sure my neck can handle it!! A strange and bad designchoice which locks you out of content from start. I was not aware that base stats can NOT be increased at all in the game so even though I can see cool armour and especially helmets I´m forbidden to use them at all. The game does not tell you this. It´s an extremly poor gamedesign choice that you are auto locked out from changing class or stats so yo can even wear the cheapest helmet. Also when you change stats in the beginning before starting the game you can not go backwards and change it. Factions You can also join different factions in the game which is really nice Good interesting skilltree. I´m opting to be an epic necromancing Bard that excels in cooking talking :) Combat Its quite fun and addictive, BUT the enemies all have extremly eyesight and only notice you from 5 meters away which is a shame. But if you don´t get angry that the enemies has the same eyesight like in WoW then you will not feel irritated. I personally feel it is sad but still I do enjoy it very much and can see it for what it is. Sound &(of) music Both works quite well, It just works. Some people have complained about the voice acting but I think it´s more about the timing in the dialogue. Usually when people speak to each other there is allmost no pause. That´s the problem here. It feels strange when there is. Bugs encountered - Controller partually disconnects and you have to quit the game and start it again - Some broken quests, This happen from time to time and takes you out of immersion. - Questmarkers don´t appear on the map or in the world so it can be quite hard. No clue why so much things are broken in the vanilla game. It´s a tad sad. Probably due to poor programming. . . . . SPOILER ALERT about 1 small quest Morale dilemmas. There was a tree that wanted revenge of the villagers that ate his children, So it lived on only for getting revenge. It then produced poisoned apples and asked me to give it to the villagers. I stopped by close to a nice man fishing and gave him an apple. He ate it and gargling fell into the water and drowned. A I gave another apple to woman who tried to grow a cute garden. She got angry because it killed the other vegatables. I finished the job quickly with my sword and she was no more. I then went back to the tree who was very satisfied. There are many tales like this in the game where you can pick a side and see it from another viewpoint than the usual without being judged. Its very entertaining
