Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 14 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Poland over the last 30 days: the 21 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 12 places towards #1, and the 2,501 moves with no price cut behind them went 1 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Love the game, only issue is everytime I let a cutscene play, the damn game crashes due to a memory error! I've got the damn thing on an external 4TB drive with and extra 1tb left!
Just based off the intro mission, graphics running on my Rog Ally, and first time back to this series since gears of war 3 this is already wonderful. This game captures the essence I remember back when I played the original gears of war! Can’t wait to get into this more.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Gears Tactics is a turn-based strategy game that offers gameplay similar to the beloved XCOM series. The game features good graphics and a variety of enemies that are visually impressive and well-designed. However, it falls short in several key areas that prevent it from being a standout title. One of the major issues with Gears Tactics is the repetitive nature of its missions. While the initial excitement is palpable, it quickly dissipates as players find themselves tackling nearly identical maps and objectives over and over again. This lack of variety can make the game feel like a chore rather than an engaging experience. The heroes in Gears Tactics also suffer from frustratingly inconsistent performance. Despite having good upgrades, they often struggle with aiming and hitting their targets. This can make tactical planning feel futile and undermine the strategic depth that the game aims to provide. Gears Tactics is a visually appealing game with some good gameplay elements reminiscent of XCOM. However, the repetitive missions and the heroes' difficulty in hitting their targets result in a mediocre experience overall. It's a game that had potential but ultimately falls short of delivering a compelling and varied strategy experience.
If you haven't played Xcom (or Xcom2) then go play those first. So basically this game will be compared entirely to Xcom for simplicity sake. For a first venture into making an Xcom sort of game (turn-based tactics) it misses on most fronts in terms of content, meaningful missions, and overall unit structure. Not to mention a relatively bad balance when it comes to enemies. By halfway in it spams enemies that punish you for lancering them with 75% dmg debuffs, which I'd originally say is fine if it wasn't Gears of War. It is relatively iconic of the series so spamming enemies that shuns you from engaging with a totally Gears of War thing is strange and thoughtless. It also has terrible mission padding that feels ultimately meaningless compared to Xcom's take where pretty much everything you do is to get to the end of the game. In Gears it is just objective filler you have to check before resuming the narrative. Class balance is relatively bad as well where multiple classes just outright suck until you pad levels into them or builds always suck on harder difficulties (support's medic build for example). Also the mission variants are very dry with only 4-5 mission types. You might have noticed I've been ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the game yet positively reviewed it and that is where this relatively brief but exciting part of the review comes in. Gears of War Tactic's BIGGEST STRENGTH is that you truly don't know WHEN your turn is going to end. It has an execution system where enemies have a (random?) chance of getting downed which allows you to cutscene execute them in typical classic Gears fashion. This yields +1 action to all units who weren't the unit you used to preform this. I can't tell you how many times I truly was screwed in this game only to be able to string executions along and basically double my turn outright. I kid you not that alone made this game a recommend for me. When a game inspired by another implements such a fun and very thematic mechanic that makes seasoned vets of turn-based tactics games raise an eyebrow and get sunk in then you've done a DAMN good job. Besides that glorious mechanic the poorly balanced classes lead to hilarious fun such as the Heavy class. A minigun wielding class who gets +accuracy AND +dmg for just standing still and spamming shoot. This is a build in ability that can be upgraded from the talent tree to ultimately make you 20% dmg resistant, bring your stacks of anchor (the ability) from 3 to 5, and a reposition ability that allows you to move without losing your anchor stacks at the cost not being able to fire that turn (but you can use grenades which DO gain the +dmg from anchor). Like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ heavy is easily the most busted fun class, not to mention they have another upgrade to heal 20% oh their max hp each turn they end in anchor. A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tank, nuker, who heals themselves, and has scaling god accuracy. Enough said really. This game is worth it on sale although I highly doubt you'd play through it again unless you try the all bonus content campaign that adds Jack, a new item rarity, and enemy variants. Personally I wish I played the game with that campaign since it needed some more variety but Jack kind of sucks imo. Either way hopefully it gives you an idea of what to expect in this game.

Very cool and I would dare to say CASUAL tactical game. But most likely orientated toward GEARS fans. All the story goes through cut scenes and the main gameplay is always combat. This was weird initially, but the more you play, the more addicting it becomes. 10/10
short, bad writing, no mission variety, decent graphics.
'X-com lite', but stream-lined and with Gears, stands on its own right
feels like a gears game
