This was a random buy for me. I enjoyed the main series, so I thought I would give this a try. It was little frustrating at first, but once I got the hang of it, I really enjoyed it.

Played this game some years ago, but apparently stopped midway in the campaign. I couldn't quite remember why. Just tried it again, and didn't even make it that far this time. I remember now, why I quite the first time; the missions just gets to repetitive and boring. The game also relies to heavily constantly spawning new enemies, which is one of the cheapest and most lazy game mechanics to put in a game. Makes being strategic with your placement and movement pointless, as the next turn there might randomly spawn a bunch of enemies right behind you. It's also slow as hell, almost sluggish, with no apparent option to speed op animations or enemy turns.

I've had my fun with it. If you enjoyed XCOM you will most likely enjoy this game as well. PROS: - like xcom - diverse classes with multiple builds - loot hunt - diverse enemies - dynamic combat music - personalize your squad with different cosmetic choices - turns where everything comes together are immensely satisfying - veteran mode gives you new loot and more missions to play after the campaign CONS: - boring story and uninteresting characters - some class builds are just straight up better - samey missions - a few very annoying bugs that force you to reload because the game gets frozen in a turn or interaction - jack often gets reduced to picking up crates before the mission ends - some modifiers on veteran mode are just straight up unfair like enemies get +40% extra evasion or you can't use grenades
