Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 14 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Tactics is a great addition to the Gears franchise and a real natural fit. I thought they tactics gameplay was very good. Reminiscent of XCOM, which is high praise. The setting of Gears is not as deep (buff dudes fight aliens) but it's fine. The characters are memorable and while the setting is pretty samey (brown) it doesn't get stale. Worth your time. Played on Steam Deck and had a good time.
"What if Gears was an XCOM-like/Squad Based Strategy game?" This game is a very good answer to that question. It manages to execute that exact thing very well albeit with some room for improvement. If you love Gears and want some action similar to that of XCOM, then give it a try. It's more linear and casual than say XCOM 2, as you aren't picking between locations and missions before every encounter, aren't having your base at risk of being attacked, and soldiers aren't becoming fatigued and wounded post-mission etc. Whether you prefer that or not, the game keeps it on a more manageable level. The story delves into a bit more of the lore than I expected and was enjoyable. The endgame, post-story content, gets very samey very quick. The extra content mode for the campaign is nice for a 2nd go round as it does make a few impactful differences. Shame that Veteran missions (The endgame stuff) is meh.
Es buen juego, esta bien y es una propuesta diferente
I managed to finish the campaign and the game is really good. My current plan is to see what the other games in the Gears series are like because this one is a good start to the story.

A combination of the Gears and Xcom worlds, this game combines both ideas but falls flat. Every single mission you are horrendously outnumbered while having characters who can't land a single shot. This game also has ridiculously quirk mechanics which don't even make sense in the normal Gears of War world. Want to chainsaw a wretch? If you run up to it during YOUR turn, it "opportunity attacks" you - hitting you first and putting your chainsaw ability on a 5 turn cooldown. Want to retro lancer charge a grenadier? He gets to automatically shoot if you ever get too close, even on your turn - ALSO cancelling the attack just like the wretch. Each and every mission is a drag where they just keep dropping tons and tons of minions on you while you only have 4 people on your team. I've found myself repeating missions not even out of "skill issue" but out of monotony based on "Gotcha" mission mechanics. You think you're winning then the mission drops like 5 grenadiers and 20 wretches, good luck. I loved XCOM 1 & 2, I loved the gears of war series, I do -NOT- like this game.
amazing story and gameplay in a typical Gears style, i love it :) okay it started good but the repetition is unbearable ....
