I like this one better than the previous one. They have improved most everything. I could not finish the game because the victory acheivement never completed. There are other games like this where clearly I won but the game for some reason does not recognize that fact. So, I can continue or I can stop and start a new game. I'll still give it a 75/100.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

$75 for Expansion Pass 2 is beyond absurd. The game is nothing but a cash-grab from developers more interested in squeezing their remaining players dry than delivering anything of real value. Another textbook “churn and burn” disaster: shovel out overpriced, half-baked content, watch it underperform, then keep milking it anyway until the community is exhausted and the game collapses under its own greed. No vision, no respect for players - just monetization first, quality dead last. EDIT: To the dev who responded, it's been over a month and store page still does not reflect the change you mention.
It's a great 4X game in the Master of Orion tradition. As always, Stardock made a game definitely worth the strategy gamer's time.
Crashes frequently. A modernized take on an relatively well defined genre. Would much prefer a new generation of this kind of gaming.
I was hesitant to buy this upon its release because of the mixed reviews, but I am glad I eventually did. Many of the things that made GalCiv 3 tedious have been streamlined. The mechanics are not well explained in a lot of cases, but overall it is an improvement and has kept me entertained for hours.
I've been playing this series for 30 years. It's better than Master of Orion. I think the most awesome feature of this series is the A.I. The computer opponents have always been standout among other strategy games. Many older and newer strategy games can be quite good, but when you know how their A.I. works, they become less enjoyable to play due to knowing the inner workings of how those games work. Galactic Civilizations is different with A.I., which makes it a better strategy game to play and lets it endure the test of time. Even the A.I. of the first game is still superior to newer strategy games. I never thought I'd be playing a game series that stayed true to itself for 30 years but here we are. Keep making new content for Galactic Civilizations 4 and keep the series alive. I don't mind live service games, so if you ever go to a more permanent Galactic Civilizations live service model, I'm all for it.
Scam game. Stay away. Play the old ones they are much better.
Huge improvement over the last title. Love it.
