FreezeME is a A 3D platformer in the style of the 90s-era but wait there is a twist! The main character “R” has one special tool – a camera around her neck. This camera allows her to literally freeze the objects she photographs.

Not all that fun, The game looks ugly with all that mess of colors There was a moment where this game invoked some nostalgia for me for like... all of 10 seconds. but it soon died as this games drabness wore on me, It's not the WORST thing I've ever played but it wasn't all that fun to play The gimmick of freezing things felt more like a means of making the game easier rather then an interesting Gameplay mechanic, Even with a USB Controller the camera controls felt a bit clunky. it has to be set to manual or its a pain, even then you're always needing to adjust it, and aiming that little camera your character is holding feels weirder then it honestly should, This game also isn't too well optimized that even this 400$ computer can only handle it on minimum resolution with all the effects turned off, I'm surprised a computer like this can't handle a game this simple, All things considered, I was hoping it would have been at least an ok game Got a refund before it was too late
This game is just terrible. The level design is uninteresting and bland and just feels like stuff randomly through together to try to get that Mario charm but it just misses the mark entirely. The physics are some of the worst in 3D platformers that I've played with your double jump feeling like it adds way too much momentum to sometimes not at all and I'll have done the same inputs. The gravity mechanic + the horrible camera left me feeling sick and just not want to 100% the game. The camera freezing mechanic isn't used all that much or I somehow did cubes without needing it. The bosses are a horrible joke and are just not fun to fight, they feel like a chore instead. Even on sale I wouldn't say get this game. Get something like Poi or A Hat in Time.
FreezeME
I absolutely love these kinda Platformer games. I thought to myself this is a game I must have for my collection. Platformer is one of my favorite genres in all game categorys. I wanted to love FreezeME but I just couldn't. What had me disapproval the most for this game are the controls and in Platformer games this is the most important thing that should work smoothly for the person playing the game. It is supose to give you a consistent impact when controlling your character but it just did not do that very well. This is an amazing game, don't get me wrong on that but the controls killed it for me. I finished the game with 30 Gold Cubes and I did most challenges. I got 100% Achievement after almost 6 hours. The controls are so clunky that it will leave you with a frustrating and annoying experience troughout the entire game. The aiming is a little dicey aswell, it needs an acceleration curve or some kind of smoothing. FreezeME is definitely a bright and colorful game with large environments to explore but the platform physics are nothing out of the ordinary. ✧ I constantly became frustrated by the clunky movement and "heaviness" of the character. The speed when she jumps front is way too anxious and fast. Perhaps this is intentional, but I found it both tedious and annoying. Good luck trying to perfom percise jumps with ease and fluidity. When you try and move the "Camera" to freeze objects or enemies, the inversion of the keyboard made it so much more difficult than it should've been.
+
It definately got the right platformer feeling to it and the animation is wonderful. The character reminds me of Dora the Explorer and she is just to cute. This must've been inspired of making from Super Mario 64 and I just love that idea. The concept's great and it is most likely to be enjoyable by the younger audience. The game is pretty colorful and it have a great artstyle. Graphics are nothing spectacular. Great game layout as far as traditional Super Mario like game goals go. With bonus/challenge areas, revisiting same locations to get more gold cubes and coins. You can flip, kick, jump on enemies and freeze moving objects with your camera around your neck. You can also slide and crawl around. Do a dive jump and a double jump. Solve puzzles for finding magical gold cubes. ✧ This is one of those games you don't see around much here on Steam or any other gaming platforms so it's definately a hidden gem among them. Now, if the developer would insist of fixing the controls, I will change my review but until then I'd really recommend the admirers of these games to play something else.
FreezeME is a game that draws its inspiration from Super Mario 64/Galaxy, Banjo-Kazooie, and Spyro the Dragon. It's not afraid to show it, either. Going by the history of this game it looks like FreezeME had a rough start with poor controls and camera angles, but from my experience they seem to be pretty solid. Sometimes floaty and maybe a teeny bit sluggish but overall I can't complain too badly. This game is a ton of fun to play and honestly my only major gripe is how "short" it is. There are only 3 worlds to explore, plus an overworld that has some challenge stages. I was worried the "freeze" mechanic of this game would be too complicated or clunky, but it's not that bad and you'll get used to its controls very quickly. Definitely add this one to your collection.
Amazing worlds in this well done platformer.
Been meaning to give this gem a go for years now, and glad I did. One of those retro revivals of 3D platforming games, FreezeME is a pretty faithful Mario 64 clone, even with a flight mode that controls like the Wing Cap did in M64. You control your buttery bullet in a myriad of open levels that beg for your exploration to discover all manner of collectables such as the arbitrary golden object of the day that opens up levels, and green coins that can be cashed in for more golden gizmos. The game admitingly took some getting used to at first, but after messing around for a little while, it became mostly natural. However, this game is a little too faithful to M64 in the way that your character will shoot around a skid on everything, making some of the more precise moment of platforming a bit frustrating. 3 worlds and a final boss world await you, with a few micro-levels to add some extra challenge. To beat this game 100% and get all achievements only took around 13 hours to do, give or take. I personally find this to be an enjoyable little gem, and I encourage you to give it a whirl if you have a couple bucks clinking around. P.S. It has a great soundtrack.
For 14 dollars this game is exactly what you would expect. It's neither great nor bad, it's simply good. If you enjoyed the 3D platformers of the 90's then this is a good pickup. I've beaten the main game (final boss) and still have yet to 100% everything but so far I've put in about 20 hours of some pretty solid gameplay. There are a few gripes here and there but nothing game breaking. My biggest qualm of this game is the amount of content, if you're looking for a game with many worlds to explore then this is not the one for you. There are only 3 worlds to explore, 4 if you count the final boss world, and while they do feel good and open there isn't a lot of substance there. None of the worlds feel like the first time time you loaded up Super Mario 64 and jumped into a painting for the first time. The level design isn't bad, just nothing really noteworthy. All that being said for less than 15 dollars you really can't go wrong, if you got the money to spend and are in the mood for this type of game I'd say give it a go, especially with Yooka Laylee being the let down that it is. Good gaming, Folks!
Cool game, but the controls and the camera aren't great. They are definitely a problem at times. But I at least got used to it after a few hours. Beat the final boss just minutes before I wrote this review. Pros * It's a freaking 3d platformer!!! * Lot's of content, up to 20 hours playtime * Colorful (that's a pro for me at least :)) * It was actually pretty fun. Cons * Controls are a little weird. And I don't recommend using KB+M as I did. It's probably much better with a gamepad. * Camera is really annoying at times. Especially when it changes the view for you automatically, and there's nothing you can do to change it. It was especially a problem at one point right before the final boss. Sometimes it's also hard to see the character. * Simple graphics and textures. It certainly wasn't horrible though. * There was an area in the second level that was completely yellow and super bright. I could barely see anything. Fun game with a lot of stuff to do. But it suffers from the typical "3d platform control and camera issues" that a lot of 3d platformers do. I still liked it though. So much that I actually did everything except get all those salamanders.
Does not recognize X-box wireless gamepads There's no way to bring up a hot key sheet to see which keyboard ' keys are used so if you map with software like Pinnacle profiler the process is trial and error tedius. With the thousands of more profressionally made games on Steam and limited gaming time each day this is a waste of time. I bought this for $3 from an online key store so no big tears on my part.
