Forza lost its soul. I had waited a long time because of all the negative stuff around the game and the stupid unlock system they had at the beginning, I finally decided to try the game since its 60% off atm, but this just isn't it. The physics are good and feel pretty good to drive, more realistic than previous games, but tbh, I think this actually makes the game less fun. Its like Old McDonalds vs New McDonalds. Used to be colorful and fun, and now its grey and corporate. Its lost what made it special and just became another sim lite. They added a time penalty system, that cannot be turned off in single player. If you're ever played with Forza AI you know why this is a problem without even needing to read more, but when the AI inevitably brake checks you on the apex of the corner, and you run into the back of them, you get a time penalty for contact. When the AI turns in with you on the inside and forces you off the track, you get a time penalty... Forza was never a true sim, it was a simcade game with its own soul and it was a blast. This one tries too hard to remove the things that made Forza unique. And its truly a shame, because you can really feel the potential in this game when you jump out on Nordschleife in heavy rain. It hurts my soul to leave a negative review on a Forza mainline title, but I now understand why the series died with this game. This is Forza, dulled by sim over reach, the fun dampened by stupid decisions, a loss of a great series, all because they tried to be too serious. I have many many hours of amazing memories from Forza 1, 2, 3, 4 and some from 7 (got boxed out when I went from 360-Ps4) and its a series I'll probably think about 20 years from now if I'm still alive. Maybe we'll get lucky, and they will make another one some day, and remember that we don't need another hard core sim, we need a fun forza game. This is the first time I felt depressed leaving a negative review :(
singlehandedly the worst community in any game ever, everyone is unnecessarily mean and will ram you 100% of the time. it is a shame as i am dissabled and use sim racxing to help me recover but i end up feeling worse because i will be rammed by a amr pro while doing my own thing every lap.
No Linux compatibility at all even though there's no problem with Forza Horizon 5. Microsoft just love being jerks apparently.
Turn10 laying off 90% of the team to only focus on FH6 games functionally dead. No new content in the works,
It's the only circuit centric simcade on pc. It looks nice and it runs well. I wish more simcade games would come out.
Forza Motorsport positions itself as one of the few motorsports-focused racing titles with a career mode, but as someone deeply invested in simracing and real-world motorsport, I find it misses the mark in almost every area that matters. FM tries to sell itself as a simulator, but it simply isn’t. Even Gran Turismo edges closer to the spirit of motorsport, though still imperfect. Forza’s physics model feels caught between arcade and sim, leaving neither camp satisfied. Tire behavior, weight transfer, and braking dynamics lack the nuance you’d expect from a game that claims to represent motorsport seriously. The absence of basic motorsport etiquette is baffling. No blue flags, no proper multi-class race logic, no penalties for divebombs or reckless blocking. You’re thrown straight into a Le Mans Hypercar in a fictional endurance race when you first start the game. Sounds thrilling, until you realize slower classes actively fight you for position instead of respecting race order. It’s just chaos. Force feedback is only serviceable at best. With extensive tweaking, its usable, but it comes at the cost of fidelity and has plenty of noise. Compared to true sims like iRacing, rFactor 2, or even ACC, FM’s wheel feel is shallow and disconnected. This is unacceptable. The AI is a disaster. They plow through obstacles, fail to recover safely, and treat Bathurst’s walls like suggestions. It feels like a train simulator AI copy-pasted into a racing game. Worse, this poor AI teaches newcomers bad habits like ramming, blocking, and impatience. Behavior that has bled into the wider simracing community. Race design rewards aggression over skill. What I mean is that clean overtakes, patience, and strategy aren’t encouraged. Instead, the fastest way forward is ramming your way through the pack. Career progression is shallow, repetitive, and lacks the sense of climbing a motorsport ladder. It reminds me of the original Assetto Corsa "career mode", which really is just a bunch of races thrown together to seem like there's progression of some sort. I wanted to love this game. I’m a fan of Forza Horizon and the first four Forza Motorsports (Especially FM4), and I hoped FM (2023) would finally deliver a proper motorsport experience. Instead, it’s a confused product that disrespects the fundamentals of racing. Unless Turn 10 radically rethinks its approach to prioritize authentic racecraft, have a more robust AI, and meaningful progression, this franchise is over as it is. Forza Motorsport (2023) may well be its swan song, and perhaps that’s for the best.

Do not waste your money, go get an old Xbox 360 and buy Forza 3. What a shocking game!

This game is the prime example of Microsoft showing us the consumer never really mattered. Bugged, broken, and abandoned to never see a QoL update again. You know what's funny though? Microsoft burns this series to focus on Horizon, which wouldn't exist without Motorsport to begin with. BRING BACK MOTORSPORT. The series that started it all. Bring back your love for the hardcore racers that's been gone for a long while. I refuse to even touch Horizon anymore with the zero effort that's been put into the FFB. Absolutely unplayable on the wheel, sure if me as the end user spends an hour or three tweaking it, it feels great. But why do I need to do that? Out of the box the entire game feels like I'm driving on ice, out of the box on Motorsport feels solid. Don't leave your day one's to cater to a children's arcade racing game, I've been here since FM2 and I would choose Motorsport 7 over this if we still had the option to buy it, but unfortunately I will cope onto this last broken, bugged iteration of Motorsport that will ever see the light of day.
