About

Utilise weapons, armour, abilities, alchemy ingredients, traps and anything else you can lay your hands on within an entirely classless character progression system.
Whether you want to be a nimble-footed archer flinging fireballs between arrows or face your foes, toe to toe as an axe-wielding whirlwind of death; the choice is yours.

The Vale of Vahrin is beset by threats from both within and without, the perfect place for a mercenary in search of their next contract.
Rival mercenaries, bandits, monstrous beasts and even hideous creatures infest the Vale of Vahrin, ready and waiting for their bounties to be claimed.
Master intense real-time action combat and adapt to every challenge, ensuring that no enemy, no matter how powerful, can stand in your way.

Aid the survivors in their personal tales of grief, love and even humour, as they fight back against the overwhelming odds facing Vahrin.
Traverse a world steeped in beauty and mystery, from overgrown city streets to magical caverns and murky bogs, each hand-crafted to test your resolve.
Scour every corner; leaving no stone unturned in your quest to discover hidden treasures, unravel lost mysteries, and claim the spoils of Vahrin for your own.

The city of Vahrin found itself overwhelmed by a swarm of the grotesque, insect-like creatures known as khraiax.
In response, many of the Free Cities, united under the banner of the Combined Order, sent their armies to confront this terrible threat.
But victory was not to be theirs, for while the khraiax stood little chance against the might of the combined forces, a far greater danger rose from beneath the city’s streets.
Vahrin’s king lies dead, along with thousands of soldiers who marched to the city’s aid. Now only its most stalwart defenders remain, desperately fighting to reclaim their beloved home.

Vahrin’s Call stands as its own complete tale, yet it forms just one part of a sweeping epic narrative that spans nations and continents.
What begins as smaller, isolated struggles becomes part of a greater saga, where every character’s trial, every kingdom’s war, and every act of courage or betrayal weaves the tapestry of the unfolding story throughout the world.

At the very beginning this game may disappoint you by the jank in the controls and the dated graphics/engine. But the more you play, the better it gets. Combat may be clunky but it is still very entertaining thanks to the freedom we have to make the build with different skills and weapons. The graphics may be outdated, but art direction is still beautiful and makes for a really pleasant experience. The more linear questing, associated with the option to turn off quest markers. provides a GREAT adventure and exploration of the world. There are no fillers or useless quests, every side quest gives good rewards or makes you explore relevant parts of the world. Skill books make for useful collectibles and the quest about the gnomes will make you genuinely laugh. The game is not huge in content, but everything is meaningful and will not waste your time. The devs focused on the things that make this type of game something truly enjoyable. They deserve recognition and support.
the game needs tones of polishing (optimization), i know tiny studio, etc. But, it should be able to run at better settings on the steam deck, and use fewer resources on PC. i'm enjoying the gameplay, enjoying the quests, the resource gathering, crafting/upgrading gear & potions. like what others have stated, it's like kingdom of amaralur and/or fable, but unpolished. i would still recommend it because i support game devs that offer something new. And i believe there's a gem here that shouldn't be overlooked by old school RPG players.

Fun and charming indie RPG with some techincal and design flaws but nothing that stopped me from enjoying the game. Highly recommended, especially once the developers have patched some of the technical flaws.
Pros:

Fun combat
Charming atmosphere
Beatiful vistas

Mooning gnomes

Cons:

UI/UX isn't the most intuitive
No key rebind.
Performance isn't ideal.
Skill progression are tied to finding specific skill books that are easy to miss.
Performance, was mid (needed DLSS)... but overall bug free and fun intro... gonna play more, looks like a unique experience!
Not a single issue so far and enjoying the game. I see certain things that I'm hoping really set the stage so I'm gonna keep playing!
5.5 hours in and I'm loving this game. Major Fable1 vibes. If your looking for in depth combat systems or to min/max, this isn't your game. If You enjoy basic hack n slash, fable like humor, relaxing music and something that's just fun to play get it. It's worth $30 for me as I'm tired of Ultra High Fidelity sensory overload collectathons. Charming and simple game. YES PLEASE! Edit: Some extra things that should be noted... the games combat system while basic has some odd flaws, parrying doesn't seem to always work, petrification spell does not seem to work properly as it does nothing. vendors seem to be based on stuff you find.. like when you discover a new thing it will be added to a vendor including quest rewards seemingly. Still having a good time though. Probably the most annoying thing about the game is menus and the map. Every time you pick an option is returns you to the top of the menus that includes the map. When you open the map it not the local map.. its the world map and you have click the sub-areas. It would be nice to have a rest option or sleep option at the tavern to skip from night to day. Also some items at this point seem... pointless I.e Quivers and Lanterns types as they don't do anything and the weight system seems unnecessary as dodging does quite seem fully fledged out.
Just finished the game. While I am recommending it, this mainly comes from the fact that it is indie and the price of the product. The game is by no means bad; it just is not amazing or even impressive in any aspect. My favourite feature is the flexibility of build and combat, but over time it also turned out to be one of its flaws. I think it is best described by Oscar Wilde: “There are only two tragedies in life: one is not getting what one wants, and the other is getting it.” Because I could so easily use every combat style (eventually limited by skill points), I felt like I was not a master of anything, since I could be almost everything.I played a melee "paladin" focusing mostly on Regeneration and Weapon Enchant spells, both of which seem to work with any build. As a non-mage, there is no reason not to have these spells permanently active, which eventually made me sad. The graphics are fine (I am one of the few not burned out by UE5), but not amazing. The combat is good, with more skills to combo into that are not mutually exclusive—a nice touch. The world is incredibly well built for a small team, but I wish it was filled with more unique things to do and kill. Quests are present. The cutscenes that progress the main story are just annoying; the story itself may not have been bad, but the presentation was clearly limited by the size of the studio. I think there are amazing ideas in place, especially for character progression, and if the team ever decides to follow up on this, I will look forward to the next iteration. I do not regret buying it or recommending it, but this is where the "indie" and "first-time" treatment ends. Great work, team—looking forward to where you can take this.
The immersive vibe exploring a hand crafted world packed with visuals, POIs, dangers, loot and collectibles is outstanding. Weapons, magic, and skills are fun. Overland traversal, jumping and climbing tiny ledges is deplorably bad. You can tell why they needed to limit you, once you peek beyond any predefined pathing or walls. Accept that it's not open world and you'll have the right framing. NPCs are forgettable assets. Worth it for a chill weekend of gaming.
# For English-speaking readers: the English version of this review is below. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A great classic-style RPG that immediately takes me back to my childhood and teenage years. I grew up with games like this, and nowadays you really have to search to find this kind of RPG that is actually built for modern hardware. If you miss the feeling of the old Fable days – not necessarily because of the combat system, but because of the way the world is designed and encourages you to explore it – Vahrin's Call is definitely worth checking out. The game lets you take your time. You can progress at your own pace without constantly being led around by quest markers. Instead, it encourages genuine curiosity and exploration. There is something incredibly satisfying about fully exploring an area, looking for hidden paths, and actually discovering things on your own. That feeling is missing from a lot of modern RPGs. Sure, you can tell in some places that this wasn't made by a huge AAA studio, but that honestly makes what this small team has accomplished even more impressive. A genuinely great game for fans of classic RPGs, and huge respect to the developers. I really hope Vahrin's Call gets the attention and support it deserves.
