About
You came to the forest for something simple.
To breathe. To walk. To fish, hunt, gather mushrooms — and disappear from the noise for a while.
Then something found you first. You wake up alone in the middle of the woods, disoriented.
Somewhere in the distance, you spot an old fire lookout tower. It’s the only landmark you have.
Maybe the only chance you have left.
Forest Doesn’t Care throws you into a dense, living wilderness inspired by real terrain:
deep forests, swamps, hills, abandoned places, hidden paths, and long stretches of silence that feel almost too real.
What begins as a desperate search for help slowly turns into something much stranger.
Reach remote towers.
Search abandoned places.
Follow traces left by people who came before you.
Meet the few who still live here — and decide whether they are helping you, using you, or lying to you.
This is not a base-building sandbox.
You won’t be cutting down forests or constructing massive structures. Survival here is practical, limited, and grounded in reality. You are not here to conquer the forest.
You are here to survive it.
Whether you want a quiet life in the woods or a brutal fight to survive, the game offers multiple ways to play:
Peaceful — explore, fish, gather, and enjoy the forest at your own pace
Survival — balance freedom, danger, and the need to stay alive
Hardcore — harsher conditions, higher risk, less forgiveness
One Life — no second chances
What starts as a search for help can turn into a calm life in the wilderness…
or your worst mistake.
This is not a traditional horror game.
There are no cheap haunted house tricks here.
But the deeper you go, the more the forest begins to feel wrong.
Strange symbols.
Unfinished messages.
Improvised rituals.
People who speak like they know more than they should.
And signs that something in this place has been waiting much longer than you’ve been alive.
Explore the forest solo or with friends in multiplayer.
Travel together, survive together, argue over supplies, get lost, or sit by the fire —
before everything goes wrong again.
The forest doesn’t care how many of you there are.
Experience the forest the way it was meant to be seen.
Forest Doesn’t Care pushes dense, lifelike environments to the limit — with tens of thousands of trees, dynamic lighting, and rich atmospheric detail.
With NVIDIA DLSS, you can boost performance using AI-powered upscaling without sacrificing visual quality.
For players seeking the absolute best image, DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing) delivers maximum clarity and detail — perfect for capturing every branch, shadow, and movement in the forest.
And with NVIDIA Reflex, gameplay becomes more responsive, reducing system latency and ensuring every movement feels precise and immediate.
Choose your balance between performance and visual fidelity — and step into a forest that feels truly alive.
Forest Doesn't Care was created by a two-person team driven by one goal: to build a forest that doesn't feel like a level, but like a real place. A place where you can fish, hunt, camp, survive, get lost — and gradually realize that something is deeply wrong here. Everything in this project grew far beyond what we originally planned — the world, the systems, the secrets, the danger, and the freedom we wanted to give the player.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has been with us since the early days — back when this was just a quiet mushroom-picking experience.
Somewhere along the way, the project took on a life of its own.
And we decided to follow it as far as it goes.

Time for a pretty realistic review of this game, just want to mention I have thousands of hours on many survival games. 1. Graphically very very good. Not that graphics should dictate how well a game plays, but in this case it really helps with the immersion. 2. Very Immersive, the background audio, the animal noises, gunfire ect. Very easy to get pulled in! 3. Gameplay, a few issues here nothing major especially for the cost. Hunting, fishing, foraging all seem to be your average survival. However a few items should have their spawn increased. (Logs/Rocks). Food and Water.. Food drain is fine, however water goes down VERY fast. Not the worst because there is water all over to fill your bottles and it only takes a few seconds to cook on a camp fire, just kinda annoying. 4. Map: there isn't one, I have spent a bit of time getting lost, which was kinda cool. I would like to recommend being able to craft land markers that you can place. 5. Quest: here is the one bug?(working as intended?) I started a game in standard mode, then switched to the casual mode, when I went back to story mode I lost all progress and was unable to continue my quest. I also started a game on Casual then went to Story and wasn't able to start, the tooltip makes it sound like you can bounce between if you wanted. however that doesn't seem to be the case. This is my biggest complaint honestly. Either change the tooltip at the continue area or see what the bug is and fix. Overall I would give this game a 4/5. I am enjoying the experience, and for the cost of the game I am pleased. Room for improvement, adjustment to water use, slight tweak on some ground items. Would love a basic building system but guessing this is not part of the game design which I understand based on the game description.

Herkese selamlar... Türkçe Dil desteği olması ayrıca güzel tarafı. i lost interest when i realized that super important items involve using lots of sticks to craft, yet despite being in a literal forest, i could'nt find any sticks anywhere to save my life lol . idk if its a bug or a mechanic but the game has been released for a year at this point, so thats kinda silly. disappointed by the purchase but i'll come back to it some day. maybe they'll fix it?
Forest Doesn't Care me surpreendeu pela atmosfera.
Forest Doesn’t Care
This game is not bad. It's just the sticks and stones are very hard to find because they blend into the background. I was extremely pissed in the beginning when I couldn't find any sticks and stones to save my life, and I thought I had to chop the smaller trees to get sticks like how 99.99% of other survival games are, but this game doesn't work like that. This game is designed for you to travel from Point A to Point B, a la going back and forth between the various Towers and along the long journey make sure to constantly look down on the ground and you'll be guarantee to find sticks and stones. It takes a while to get used to this game design, but eventually you'll be able to distinguish between what you can pick up and what you can't, even though the ground is littered with various sticks, twigs and smaller stones that you can't pick up as they're part of the background. Gameplay feels smooth, so I don't have any complaints there. I'm getting 120+ FPS consistently with DLSS on. Not one crash for me the entire playthrough. This is a different type of survival game, where you don't chop down trees to build shelter. You have to walk super long distances and as you're walking that's when you pick up the resources that's scattered on the ground. My only gripe is after beating the game, I've continued to play another 2+ more hours just to find that darn bear so I can get its materials but I could not find one. I've found all the other animals and have gotten their crafting materials, but I could not find a single bear in my playthrough. The problem is you'll need its materials to barter with the vendor to get weapon upgrades. Luckily the devs scattered everything you'll need all over the map, so just do some exploring and you'll eventually find everything you need without the need to buy anything from the vendors. I did not buy a single armor or weapon upgrades from any vendors. I simply played the game and found them. The graphics in this game is almost photo-realistic and the atmosphere feels like you're actually trapped in a forest. This game is not the typical grind-it-out-resource-gathering to build a base so it's a nice change of direction. Resource gathering is focused on traveling long distances, rather than staying in one place and gathering resources within close proximity to your base. There's nothing wrong with this game design-wise. It's just a different type of survival game. It grew on me over time and now I like it. There are some parts of the game that feels exactly like The Forest and Sons of the Forest. You'll have to play it to find out. Pro Tips: As soon as you've gathered enough resources, build the Trail Flag and Warehouse before you build anything else. Not even the Repair Station because throughout the game you'll find better weapons or duplicates of the same weapon to replace your broken one, so save your resources early in the game to build the two mentioned structures first. Build the Repair Station as the third priority, after the Trail Flag and Warehouse. The Trail Flag will help you find your way back to your base camp no matter where you are on the map. I like to set the icon on the Trail Flag as a camp icon so I know it's my base camp. Leave that as the only camp icon for your base camp so it's unique, that way you don't get confused with other camp icons. I'd also recommend building your base camp at the first Tower you come across because you'll be coming back here a lot throughout the campaign, so might as well make this place your permanent base camp. It's also the closest camp the all the vendors in the game, and it has a river you can fish and gather water. As for the Warehouse, it's crucial you set this structure up ASAP because you'll be constantly running out of inventory space in your backpack, so I make it a habit every time I go on a resource run, that I always return to my base camp to drop off supplies and materials in my Warehouse. It's a permanent storage chest.
Do not buy this game if you cannot cope with a uncooked game with lots of jankyness is unoptimised and ocasional bugs, with that in mind only buy this game to support the vision of these 2 passionate developers which have done a really good job so far. I can feel the vision and immersion that this game is heading towards in game already. Im excited for future development and also the update history is promising which is always nice to see
This game, developed by just two brothers, offers so much more than the almost typical free-asset-based cobbled-together games of today. I wish AAA developers would take a page out of their book when it comes to the game's depth. The setting is incredibly interesting and really fuels the urge to explore. If the questline becomes even more substantial, it would be a truly outstanding game—I'm already very happy with it. The developers usually fix bugs incredibly quickly, often so quickly that you really wonder how two people manage to do that while still developing the game and maintaining contact with the community!? So far, I'm giving the game 4 out of 5 stars. What I would still like to see is a pure exploration mode where you don't have to forgo the story and quests, but where you can perhaps toggle the survival settings on and off, so you don't have to worry about thirst, hunger, or cold, for example, but can still fully enjoy the rest of the game. Greetings and many thanks for this interesting game and your work. Andreas
