About

Lead nomadic families through the Stone Age in this turn-based 4X strategy game with deeply simulated characters, cultures, and ecosystems. Explore the vast wilderness, gather and trade scarce resources, and stand your ground in risky autobattler combat. Discover fire, domestication, politics—and survive to tell the tale.
Experience what prehistoric life was like by diving into this exploration of ecology, paleolithic societies, and the origins of culture.

Before agriculture and settlements, we spent hundreds of thousands of years as nomadic hunter-gatherers. Guide your people as you migrate through harsh climates, each posing unique challenges.

Manage the relationships between individuals, families, and tribes. Watch your collective adapt over countless generations. Beware the unintended consequences current choices can have on your great-great-great-grandchildren.

Optimize your strategy before each autobattler skirmish, because a warrior is not just a warrior. When one falls in combat, the tribe loses not only a fighter but also a skilled hunter, family member, and carrier of hard-won wisdom passed down through the ages.

Hunt, gather, and extract resources from the ecosystems around you, but tread carefully: nature is ruthless and you are at its mercy. Maintain the natural equilibrium or face sudden and unexpected challenges.

Technology: a tech tree spanning the Pleistocene up to the start of the Bronze Age, covering skills from controlled fire and cooking, through domestication and agriculture, all the way to megalithic construction and the first cities.
Culture: shape your tribe’s unique culture, with evolving cultural norms that differentiate you from your neighbors, affecting trade and war.
Economy: resources are finite and their extraction affects the environment.
Ecology: 9 unique climates, each with a complex and dynamic food web.
Procedurally generated Earth-like maps based on realistic climate simulations.
Many generations of deeply simulated individuals with heritable traits, all affecting various game systems.
Narrative events that can alter the trajectory of your entire tribe.
Social Networks: Dynamic social network visualization, enabling a new way to understand and manage family trees and relationships between members of your band.
Diplomacy: trade, fight, or collaborate with other tribes.

Wanted to load it up for a few early game turns before going to bed and next thing you know I'm almost 5 hours in. There are a lot of great interweaving systems at play, and the uniqueness of not having to plant your roots in one location was a fresh take on the genre. Later on it's an option, but it's something you have to invest in for a while to see the payoff. Really enjoyed what I played so far.
currently its normal difficulty is a "get constantly attacked and robbed by enemy towns who sit surrounding you always" simulator, which doesnt really seem fun or like what a normal difficulty should be.

A really interesting game, well worth the price!
Reminiscent of "At the Gates" and "Thea": you control bands of a roving semi-nomatic tribe traveling around to collect resources and upgrade to eventually become a civilization.
A cool take on a 4x genre, nice setting, amount of stuff you need to do per turn doesn't grow dramatically as the game progresses.Plenty of opportunities to come back from a non-ideal start.
If you've got David Anthony's The Horse, the Wheel, and Language on your shelf this one's for you. An excellent depiction of prehistory and an excellent 4X strategy on its own. Also the first game I've seen that did nomadism well. Highly recommend.
Lovely game, worth couple replays to fail a bit and try different strategies. It's like mini civilization. I like the tight focus of prehistoric survival, slowly moving to semi-nomadic and then full sedentary at the end.
I like it so far
Fun! Not overly complicated, but with quite some different mechanics. I like the setting, there are many different tribe - civilization - skill focus combinations. I would like more different events and foraging seems to be a bit strong compared to farming, but the dev is actively invested in making adjustments and improvements.
It's promising. I've had a lot of fun with the game during the demo, in a pre-launch beta test and now during release. It's been years and years that I've been dreaming of a good prehistoric 4X, and this one is the first one I've actually enjoyed. That being said, there are some definite kinks that need to be ironed out: Issues with victory point sources, issues with modifier stacking; the usual kind of post-launch strategy game balancing issues. I have faith that they will be resolved, as the developer has been both passionate and responsive about the game. Is it worth getting at current time, at the current price? A qualified yes. It's not currently a forever-game, like some of the big titles in the genre, but it is and has been fun, and will hopefully only become more so when the issues are sorted out. It's also an independent solo dev's first game, and frankly, I'm delighted to be able to support art and innovation within a genre I enjoy. I hope to see more from the developer and the game in the future.
