Very fun game

I love this game, even though the physics aren’t like an actual pinball game. It’s more of a pinball-themed adventure experience, one that can make you rage like a Bennett Foddy game. Although it’s not really what I wanted or expected it to be. I almost refunded it, but decided to keep playing after noticing how long I had been smiling while playing. It plays best with a controller, imo, and is a perfect low-power Steam Deck game. It feels like a game you could hand to a child, grandparent, partner, just about anyone, and they’d be able to play it without assistance. I still wish the physics were more accurate to irl pinball, but that doesn’t mean FlippUp doesn’t deserve its place in the genre. It definitely deserves more attention. Give it a chance, or at least try out the demo. Having fewer than 100 reviews at the time of writing is crazy to me.

I saw the game on a Stream and really wanted to play so I tried the demo, it took me around 2 hours to complete it and honestly! I really enjoy the game, is simple yet complicated, a little bit frustrating sometimes, good to play while talking to friends. The aesthetic is beautiful, I do like the physics of the game and the music. It reminds me a little bit about Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy, it is a hard game that mocks the player, but feels worth it. Recommended!!

[h1]苦しさより楽しさが僅かに勝つ登山系ピンボール[/h1] 様々な障害に満ちたステージをピンボールのフリッパーのみを駆使して、 ボールをどんどん高所へと運んで進めていくゲーム。 落ちてもゲームオーバー等のペナルティはありませんが再度登り直しになり、 ひたすら最後まで登り続ける、いわゆる登山系の内容になります。 ステージはすべてシームレスに繋がっており、どこまでこの地獄は続くんだ……？ と不安をかきたてられ、ミスによってはエリアを超えた大滑落もありえるため、 常に緊張感があります。 仕掛けられたギミックは最初はあくまでプランジャーやバンパーといった 一般的なピンボールのギミックですが、やがてこの手のゲームにお決まりの ボールを吹き飛ばす風やスイッチによるゲート操作などの障害が登場するため、 進め方を考えながらプレイする必要が出てきます。 また時々、関所のような形でピンボール台も出現し、そこでは一定のスコアを 取るまで進むことができません。 そこまで厳しいハードルではないですが、出現するテーブルガイドを読んで 高得点を取る手順を理解して挑まないと効率が悪く苦労します。 総じて難しいチャレンジに挑戦することを楽しむ作りのゲームですが、 遊んでみた手応えとしてはストレスもあるものの、ステージのバラエティや ギミックを理解してうまく進めた時の達成感が楽しく、個人的には アクションゲームとして普通に面白いと感じる気持ちが勝ちました。 失敗による戻し作業などはストレスではありますが、1つ1つの操作は そこまでシビアなものはなく、コツを掴んで進めていけば誰でも クリアできる範囲になっていると思いますので、だいぶ歯ごたえはある内容ですが 気になった人はぜひチャレンジしてみて欲しいです！ [b]【補足】[/b] 掲示板を見ると、このゲームの操作性が実際のピンボールのフリッパーや ボールの動きに準じていないことについて批判的な意見が散見されます。 私はピンボールプレイヤーかつアクションゲーマーなので批判される方の 気持ちも理解はできますが、このゲームはどちらかといえばフリッパーの 形状を活かしたジャンプアクションゲームであるため、それに合わせて 設計されたものだと思うため、このゲームならではの動きに慣れていく ことをむしろ楽しめました。 とはいえ、内容からまずピンボールらしさを期待するのも当然ではあるし、 拘りがある人は体験版などで感触をチェックしてから製品版を遊ばれると いいかと思います！

Good rage game! You'll make wayy more mistakes than something like getting over it, and it's much more forgiving as a result, which is good!! The limited horizontal space means that you can only fall so far before hitting something. There's [spoiler]10[/spoiler] areas, and it was very rare to fall more than one down at a time; usually it was more like a quarter of an area. Each is decently unique, usually adding a new permanent or one-off mechanic. Some were more fair fun than others ([spoiler]rocket boosters and that table where you have to get to 200[/spoiler], I'm looking at you), but overall it was great! Yes it does indeed have wayy stronger gravity than a traditional table, but you get used to it pretty quickly, and I didn't find it to be a downside. I played it while streaming and talking to friends, and it was a great thing to do without spending too too much thought on it. Very surprised it's not more popular!
