About

FISH FEAR ME is a top-down Vampire Survivors-style roguelite where you fish up your enemies to fight, defeat, and sell them! Catch fish, uncover secrets, and hunt bounties to earn cash and forbidden knowledge, and use those resources to upgrade your boat, unlock new weapons and tools, and gain new abilities. Each region has new fish to catch, new bounties to fulfill, and new terrors of the deep. From the placid waters of Nightmare Lake to the subterranean wastes of the Shadow Sea, monsters lurk beneath the deep... Are you able to bring home the biggest catch?

You are being watched. The Leviathan, a cosmic force of death, will try to consume you after seven days on the water. At first, you won't be able to stop it; you're a mere mortal, and it's an infinite eldritch being. However, you have an advantage: a billion-dollar cosmic debt which returns you from the dead. With each new run, you grow stronger. The Leviathan is hunting you. Hunt it back.

The weapons at your disposal are as varied and chaotic as the fish you're fighting. Recruit fish into your skeleton army after thwacking them with a giant anchor. Ram into sea monsters head-on, then heal up using a magic lure. As you catch stronger and stronger fish that want to eat you, only smart build-crafting can keep you alive.

Eventually you'll make a mistake. You'll get too greedy, bring too many fish up at once, and get swarmed and destroyed. With each new run, you'll learn a little more, unlock more upgrades for the future, and get closer to your true goal: slay the Leviathan, pay off your cosmic debt, and become the greatest battle-fisherman of all time.

Like all roguelikes, finding your stride and preferred playstyle can take a second - but once you're in, this game is GREAT!
Fun game I like the whale boat. Fish fear me.

I liked Snake Farm, I'm sure I'll like this one. Only just started, but I'm liking the main gameplay loop. Will dive deeper into this for sure.
This game starts out extremely tough. If you stick with it for a bit and find some strategies, it gets a little easier, and becomes just tough. The tone is perfect, the soundtrack is multiple bangers that I can't get out of my head, and I'm having such a good time that I want to try to 100% it. If you like bullet hell/survivor games, this is a winner
I was tempted to put the main "FISH FEAR ME" title song lyrics in as my whole review, but sadly, instead I decided to make a legitimate review. "FISH FEAR ME" is a surprisingly fun game. There's a lot of different boats and weapons, which helps make everything interesting, and although the controls can be unintuitive, it feels deliberate, and it makes figuring them out feel rewarding. There's also a lot of things to figure out how they work (like some of the upgrades in the upgrade tree), and it makes getting to the point where you can beat the big boss rewarding. Overall, I would describe the game as fairly easy once you get things figured out, as it's pretty easy to build such that you heal more damage than you take, but it's still an excellent game.
Not much to say here, the game is fun. It's not too pricey, some of the worst bugs were fixed recently, and it's an experience. I won't lie, while I would have liked the game to have a bit more in-game stuff to play with, as well as more QoL things/changes that make sense to me, it's ultimately up to the developer. The game in its current state is very nice, even if I feel it's criminally underrated: simple art style has its charm, there are a lot of fun jokes and while some species of fish are basically "same fish, but yellow", it doesn't make the game less enticing. Controls take some time to get used to, and it gets better with certain upgrades. You can pretty easily earn 60-70% of achievements (not a 6-7 joke, I mean "the majority of achievements" here) by just playing the game and completing stages on various ships, at least once. Some of the rarer achievements are either easily done and no one bothered to do it too (most of the new ships, like Dragon) or they're borderline impossible/require a very specific build and lots of luck (looking at you, Golden Ghost Ship).
fish fear me i fear everything title song goes hard didnt realise it had lyrics cool fishing-themed balatrolike enjoy the light story and implied lore in this game lots to do lots to unlock and lots of fish to be caught people give out ablout clunky controls but i think they're meant to be like that like the art style, really big pixels!
