Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 2/day in the week to Aug 4 → 0.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The story in this game is an actual banger, no doubt about it. It only keeps getting better and more exciting seeing how each game does its storytelling differently. But honestly, when it comes to the gameplay system, this one is the weakest so far. The beginning where you had to keep switching between becoming a toad and a frog just to progress was pretty annoying, but pushing through it was worth it since you eventually do not need to use that mechanic at all. Another thing worth mentioning is how tiring the job leveling can get. I just did not find the job system that interesting. It felt more like a drag than an actual meaningful grind, unlike FF1 and FF2. What made it worse is that some enemy encounters, especially certain bosses, made specific jobs weak, so you would have to switch out a job you just spent an hour or two grinding and level up a different one instead. That just made the whole experience boring. That said, you do not actually need to level up every job. At some point you will land on a team that sticks as your best lineup, but that usually happens near the end of the game, which kind of makes all that grinding pointless. for example, I got the Ninja job right before the final boss, and it literally is my favorite job in the whole game. The problem is you cannot get it any sooner than that. Not being able to unlock it earlier and actually spend time building it up made the job system feel even more lacking, since you barely get to enjoy one of the best jobs before the game is already over. Now coming into the final boss without a doubt, this game has the hardest and toughest final boss so far. It spams one attack that can literally two shot you into oblivion, and if you do not have your Devout job leveled up and ready, the fight gets a whole lot harder. It is really worth playing this game, but for me personally the combat system is rather lacking. 7/10.
Nice one
i'm going through all the FFs in order. just finished my full achievement run in FF 3. out of FF 1-3, this one is definitely the most interesting to re-play:

character progression is similar to FF 1, but there are more jobs, and you can level them up on every character! and some of the starting jobs stay useful all the way to the endgame;
the game introduced hidden items, and your run will be significantly easier if you pay attention and find them all;
even on x1 boost you barely need to grind to finish the game, especially if you open every chest and find the hidden items. FF 2 was way more of a slog in this respect;
bestiary entries are now x2 compared to the previous parts;
dungeon difficulty and size grow more evenly as you progress. and overall the dungeons are no longer as annoyingly confusing as in FF 2
still, i'll point out a couple of things i didn't like:

i really love playing rogue-like characters, but in this game the thief Steal command is useless - it's just a waste of time. you won't be able to steal anything unique or truly valuable from monsters here. the result of stealing from ALL the bosses in the game is a hi-potion you can buy for 500 gil in a shop. meh..
encounters with divide/multiply monsters showing up before you get access to the dark knight equipment. whyyy
other than that - it's a worthy entry in the series we all love so much. i definitely recommend this game
