Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 13 → 0.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It feels a bit like battle brothers lite. The game is linear and there's not a lot of replay value, but I still had fun.

Fight Life: Vanguard is a turn-based tactical RPG that combines squad development, strategic combat, and a dark fantasy story about a world steadily being consumed by darkness. Developed by StartImpulse and Two Cakes Studio and published by Two Cakes Studio, the game places considerable emphasis on transforming an inexperienced collection of adventurers into a disciplined force capable of confronting increasingly dangerous opposition. Rather than presenting the player as a lone hero, it makes leadership the central fantasy, asking you to develop recruits, make tactical decisions, and guide an entire company through a seemingly hopeless conflict. The story begins with a once-powerful and generous god whose influence and energy are gradually disappearing. His decline stems from betrayal by his own human apprentice, who attempts to attain divinity by sacrificing the very being who taught him. This experience understandably leaves the Divine Spirit deeply suspicious of humanity. However, watching ordinary people courageously resist the spreading darkness begins to restore some of his faith in them. Knowing that he is approaching oblivion, the forgotten god decides to make one final effort to prevent humanity's destruction. It is a suitably dramatic foundation for the campaign, combining themes of betrayal, fading divinity, sacrifice, distrust, and redemption with the more traditional fantasy struggle between humanity and overwhelming darkness. Combat is built around deliberate turn-based tactical encounters. Players command a squad across battlefields where positioning, movement, attacks, and the individual capabilities of each recruit need to be considered carefully. The hex-grid tactical structure complements this approach because encounters reward planning rather than rapid reactions. A successful turn is less about immediately attacking whatever enemy happens to be closest and more about understanding how the entire squad can cooperate. This makes Fight Life: Vanguard especially appropriate for players who enjoy methodical strategy games in which mistakes can have consequences beyond a single action. Squad building provides the long-term motivation behind those battles. The player recruits adventurers from a varied selection of candidates and then invests in improving their skills and resilience. Characters are presented as fighters who can evolve from inexperienced newcomers into seasoned warriors and eventually legendary champions. That transformation gives progression a satisfying purpose. A recruit who initially seems like another modest addition to the roster can gradually become an important component of the player's strategy, encouraging investment in individual characters rather than treating the party as an interchangeable collection of units. This development system works particularly well with the game's emphasis on decision-making. Improving characters is not simply an activity performed between battles; it affects the tactical possibilities available during future encounters. Building a balanced squad therefore becomes part of the larger strategic challenge. Different recruits can contribute different strengths, while the player must determine how best to prepare the company for the increasingly severe trials ahead. The game's description stresses that decisions matter, and this philosophy fits naturally with a tactical RPG where preparation and battlefield execution are closely connected. The campaign unfolds through numerous chapters set across a war-torn fantasy world. This chapter-based structure provides an appropriate framework for watching the mercenary squad gradually mature. There is a clear sense of escalation in the concept: the player begins with relatively humble adventurers but is ultimately attempting to forge mythical champions capable of influencing the fate of civilization. That progression also reinforces the narrative's central message of finding hope when circumstances appear almost impossible. The forgotten god sees courage in humanity, while the player witnesses similar potential in recruits who initially appear ordinary. Fight Life: Vanguard uses a stylized 2D presentation that suits its tactical ambitions. Its visual identity incorporates pixel-art and hand-drawn influences alongside medieval and dark fantasy imagery, while its top-down and isometric qualities help communicate battlefield information. The presentation is more functional and traditional than technically extravagant, but that is not necessarily detrimental to this genre. Tactical RPGs depend heavily on readable environments, recognizable units, and the player's ability to understand the state of a battlefield quickly. The retro-influenced aesthetic also gives the game a certain old-school personality that complements its methodical combat. The game is notably accessible in terms of hardware requirements. It requires only 2 GB of RAM and approximately 1 GB of available storage, making it viable for a wide range of Windows PCs. Beyond the main single-player campaign, the Steam edition includes achievements, Steam Cloud support, and Family Sharing. Support for numerous languages further broadens its accessibility. These features do not fundamentally alter the tactical experience, but they make the overall package more convenient and approachable. One potential limitation is that Fight Life: Vanguard relies heavily on established tactical RPG conventions. Turn-based encounters, character progression, recruit management, fantasy warfare, and heroes growing from humble beginnings are familiar concepts within the genre. Players searching specifically for a radical reinvention of tactical role-playing may consequently find some elements conventional. The game's appeal instead depends on how effectively these recognizable mechanics work together. Its focus is less on introducing an entirely new type of strategy game and more on delivering the familiar satisfaction of carefully constructing a capable team and watching that investment produce results. That traditional foundation ultimately works in the game's favor for the right audience. The combination of tactical decision-making and persistent character growth creates a clear gameplay cycle: recruit adventurers, strengthen them, enter battle, overcome increasingly difficult challenges, and continue developing the survivors into a more formidable force. Meanwhile, the story of the dying god gives those battles a larger purpose and prevents the campaign from feeling like an unrelated collection of tactical scenarios. Fight Life: Vanguard is therefore a solid choice for players who appreciate slower, thoughtful strategy and the gradual development of a personalized squad. Its strongest qualities are the connection between recruitment and progression, the importance placed on tactical leadership, and the bleak fantasy narrative surrounding humanity's final struggle for survival. Although its foundations are recognizably traditional, the experience has enough personality and strategic substance to make building a group of inexperienced mercenaries into legendary heroes rewarding. Rating: 7/10
