I have a very large number of lead miniature ancients and medieval armies in 15 and 25 mm, that I have collected and have played on tabletops since 1981, with rules to include WRG5, Warrior, and Sword and Spear, the latter of which I consider the best of all the many ancients/medieval rules I have played. At my current age of 70, finding FOG2 and its related games, is a very great pleasure; its as close to playing with my lead Late Imperial Romans/Babylonians and other armies etc. as one can get. A very well done game!!
seems another game i forgot to mention and review, well only 800 hours in steam, 1k plus on the site version, then add in the testing part and i'd say i like it, a lot, so would i recommend it? it's got rome in it, so yes, it's a war game, so thats a big plus and it's supported and has some great DLC's and mods, so play, enjoy and play some more, like i've done

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

There's a lot of depth here if you're into historical strategy games, but the pace is much slower than I was hoping for. Battles can drag on, and the presentation doesn't do much to keep things interesting. I can see why some people enjoy it, but it just wasn't for me.
⚔️ Field of Glory II – Review Field of Glory II is basically ancient warfare turned into chess with explosions — a turn‑based strategy game where you command armies from the classical era (think Rome, Carthage, Persia, etc.) and try not to get utterly smashed by the guy with better pikemen. If you’ve ever thought, “I’d like to spend three hours micromanaging phalanxes, cavalry charges, and terrain bonuses while also feeling the crushing weight of history,” then congrats.. this game was made for you. The core gameplay revolves around hex maps, unit formations, morale, and perfectly timed attacks. Battles are slower and more calculated than your average action‑strategy game — every decision matters. Positioning, unit type advantages, and knowing when to stand firm or run away are key. Victory often feels brilliant, and defeat often feels like *your units yelling at you for bad leadership.* It’s not a casual button‑masher — it’s deep, demanding, and wonderfully tactical. The learning curve is real, but once you’re in it, commanding elephants to trample spearmen becomes its own kind of sweet satisfaction. ✅ Pros * Deep, strategic combat with realistic ancient warfare tactics * Huge variety of factions and units * Historical flavor and battle scenarios * Tactics matter — positioning, morale, terrain all count ❌ Cons * Steep learning curve — not very forgiving for beginners * Slow pacing — battles can take a while * Visuals are functional rather than flashy * Not much narrative — mostly battles and strategy ⭐Verdict: Field of Glory II is a sophisticated, thoughtful strategy game that feels like a grandmaster’s war table — perfect for historically minded tacticians who enjoy digging into deep systems and watching perfectly planned formations turn the tide of battle. Just don’t rush in; think like a general, not a berserker.
Great game - plays like a graphically elaborate, turn-based tabletop experience. Has tactical depth often sadly missing in your Total Wars etc.
If you’re a serious ancient or military history geek, this is the game for you—hands down. Get it yesterday. The battles are far more realistic than the Total War series, which is very popcorn-and-bubble-gum in comparison. Easy to play, but hard to master. A very big thumbs up,

Great game! A lol of fun to play!
Awesome game for all history lovers. Do Yourself a favour and invest in Fields of Glory Empires, Medieval and Kingdoms too. These Devs are amazing.
