Very fun puzzle platformer, love the cosmic/meta themes in it. Deserves all the praise it gets, Just played again it in the first time in over a decade still very fun.
Fez is a really fun and pleasant game, marred by a small handful of incredibly obtuse and difficult puzzles. Other than those few though I really did enjoy my experience exploring the world and working on puzzles and platforming challenges. Worth your money, and 95% worth your time.
Great idea, ended up with a bunch of generic puzzles. But this 2D-platformer with 4 POVs ends up being a basic puzzle-game. So starting woth the 3D->2D puzzle elements. Once you get the trick (depth does not exists), there are hardly any difficulties solving these puzzles. Most difficult ones are the ones that require a good memory. Soon it became clear that navigation through the maze is difficult, Oh boy, I got lost a lot! Also the portals were not logic to me, thus I just kept trying till I got somewhere I wanted. I thought it was a joke that I had to go back, as soon as I got a hint where to look for or what to do. The hints are given in the rooms that look like a school or lab, and these are sometimes locked till later in the game. I think i visisted each level at least once and that really bothered me. And then I learn that I have to search for certain animals in all levels again? Hell no! But the most annoying is that jumping does not work nicely and the guy gets sometimes stuck. To jump sideways well, you need to be walking in that direction, and press jump the right amount of time. Commander Keen already had better jumps with the pogo-stick. Also, one moment a jump works, and another time the guy jist falls down - depending on where he hangs on the wall. I spent faaaaaar more time practicing to get the angle right for jumping than in seeing the solution of the puzzle, It simply killed the joy of many levels, especially the time-sensitive ones. The game just went on and one, but it did not get more special, game-wise. It did get more difficult, but I did not want to make harder jumps anymore. Art-work is really great though, and that was what got me going. So I don't recommend. I hope another game comes out that gets more out of a 4-POV platformer.
Such an interesting and peaceful platformer with a gimmick that to this today still has not been replicated. Truly a 1 of a kind platformer
sweet little puzzler
Excellent platforming collectothon.
It's just plain beautiful, I think anyone could play this.
