I wish I could wipe my memory and relive this game for the first time again. Everything is peak from the pixel art visuals, the chiptune soundtrack, to the puzzle design and even the lore. The platforming gets a little stale after awhile, (just find the best way up), but the main puzzles come from keen sense of ingame surroundings and logic. One of the few games that made me excited to bust out a sheet of paper and take notes.

On one hand, this is a really fine game with some cool puzzles, really pretty pixel art, animation and all of that. But it still is a very hard game to recommend if you're a seasoned puzzle fan looking for challenges like I am. This game indeed comes with challenges, but in my personal opinion, they might not be those you're looking for and some are very debatable. We are talking about extremely cryptic puzzles where couple pixels on a wall could or could not make a difference between getting and not getting an anti cube. The game won't tell you if those pixels are or aren't important in any way. It's the alpha and omega of puzzle games, except there is no omega in it; you have no chance at solving a large amount of puzzles without actively looking up help. You are left to guess most of the time! This leads us directly to a puzzle commonly referred to as "The Black Monolith", which is a puzzle that to this day nobody knows how is meant to be solved. Some deem this the hardest puzzle in any videogame ever, but can it really be considered a puzzle if the solution seems to be actually impossible? I'll leave this for everybody to decide for themselves. If you're a casual puzzle enjoyer who just wants to play through and then drop the game, then FEZ is probably worth your time. You might enjoy FEZ even if you are a seasoned puzzle lover, but I heavily recommend not doing full completion because it's not worth it.

the only puzzle game that made me feel like a genius 5 minutes after making me look up an answer to a puzzle in annoyance, Phil Fish's insane ego was (almost) justified 9/10
Its fascinating seeing the DNA of this game in recent puzzle games I love such as tunic and animal well, but Fez just didn't grasp me the same way. There weren't any puzzles that stood out to me and I just wasn't enjoying the late games puzzles. The backtracking also sucked, something about it just annoyed me.
Gan0n's Rating: 5/5 A deep, layered puzzle game that set the current benchmark for the puzzle genre. Still feels pretty modern playing it 13 years after release. Without it, I wonder if we would have ever seen other great titles like The Witness, Blue Prince, Baba is You, and Chant of Sennaar.
there is a thin line between cleverly designed puzzles and obtuse ones that require one to obsess over minutiae, and this game is definitely of the latter type. DNF.
Говорят, что разработчик тот ещё мудазвон, но зато игра клёвая.
Wenos puzzles y es divertido 👍
