As opposed to Fears to Fathom's previous games where horror elements were present, this one failed to impress me that much. Come on, you could do so much better.
→ The first half has NO horror in any way.
First, you have to find boxes and load them into the car. Second, you have to navigate through the road to reach your destination. Congrats, the first half has just been summed up in 2 sentences, isn't it great?
If you can do this, it tells a lot about how "rich" the story actually is.
→ In the second half, you finally get to experience horror.
ALTHOUGH that wouldn't be a word that I would choose to describe the game overall, even if we abstract away from its first half. You get 1-2 jumpscares, tops. Oh, by the way, they take less than a quarter of the second part. Then, it boils down to the first half: you talk, walk, and run, and that's it.
But wait! Maybe, just MAYBE, the game scares you with its eerie, uncanny, and sickly atmosphere that plays with your emotions, something of a psychological thriller? Well, GUESS WHAT. It doesn't.
→ I don't know whether it's because of its poor execution or multiplayer feature that it loses its charm but I tend to believe that it's a combination of both.
First of all, I undesrtand that Fears to Fathom's games are based on real events, and there may be not so many details but there could be more, that's for sure.
Second of all, do you really think that MULTIPLAYER is a good choice if you want to tell the lore of the story through books and journal? Let's be for real, NO ONE is going to wait for the other player to read them out loud for the other (or wait until each player has finished reading them) to know a piece of information. I rarely do this even when playing solo games because it is just BORING to spend so much time on this.
The story is best told through actions and dialogues. But yeah, in-game dialogues were tiring and uninformative as hell, failing to dive you into the story. Especially when it comes to these conflicts between the lovebirds. OKAY, I GET IT FROM THE FIRST TIME. You two CAN'T see eye to eye. Y'all are ON THE BRINK OF breaking up. SHUT UP, I don't care, no need to repeat the same thing all over again as if I were stupid. Besides, you can't even talk with your friend without ignoring the in-game dialogues between your characters. What's even the point of multiplayer in this case? Maybe, introducing this feature wasn't worth the outcome.

I recommend AGAINST buying this, save your money. Seriously, there's plenty of other games that you and your friend (or your special one) can enjoy playing together. This one will not give you any horror whatsover. if that's what you're looking for. Just watch a YouTube video, and trust me, that will be more than enough.
