Honestly my childhood nostalgia brought back. And while I absolutely love this game and it's dear to me with there also being very limited to almost no game exactly like this it has many faults that hold this back a lot from being so SO much more. From seemingly poor choices in RA that are downgrades from the original. [Examples]: - Can't have inventory open while fishing - Less potion slots - Debuff timer not on the hud but in inventory screen And trust me more in! The list I share ranges from straight up why the hell were some of these features not added ESPECIALLY with this being a modernization of the classic and this being 2026 to just pet peeves or QOL that is drastically needed. There is a lot of what are basic staple features that would only add to this experience with ZERO con to it. Regardless of it trying to keep the nostalgia alive, they made a remaster/update to the games. The "argument" no longer applies when the goal was to modernize and bringing the old games to today, especially because of this reason. A lot of QOL wouldn't even change the game/gameplay just remove frustration again with ZERO con. OVERALL THOUGH: I love this game, I highly recommend it even without ANYTHING I list in this "review" It's just because I love it so much I can see so much holding it back. While the community has nice people there are a lot of purists who hate any change regardless of what it is and this sucks and contributes to this game being further improved upon. - Compare inventory weapon/ring/etc. Unless I am blind as a bat I can't find this and comparing gear is a pain in the butt. Would love a compare tooltip whether it be by auto compare when hovering over weapons/geat/etc or manual key press/hold - Faster fishing, that's it. It's so boring compared to original fates (I dont care about the rng change, but this speed makes it entirely unfun) - Ability to remap **ALL** keybinds - Undo or buyback )For accidental sales) - Ability to spend gold to respec your character - A tool tip that shows what the symbol above mercenaries/companions do when you change them - Ability to scale hud down or up (For me the hud is way too big on 4k and my 45in monitor lol) - Better item/stat/etc descriptions (Somethings I have literally no idea what they do. Playing a hardcore character and hovering over revival charm or potion doesnt say whether it works only on you pet/companions or if you die. And if so if it works on hardcore characters or not). - Purchasable stash/inventory space increase whether by in game gold or real money (But if it is real money should be damn significant lol plus it helps support the devs) - More hotbar slots (Like in traitor soul/etc) - Loot filtering & Better rarity tooltip for drop items/gear. Select what quality of drops you want to see or hide. Make it easier to pick things up, it's pretty difficulty at times. - Mercenaries need work (They are constantly at times avoiding combat or just running around doing who knows what, getting stuck, etc) - The new dungeon dlc and any new dungeon dlc should be focused on Traitor Soul not Fate or Undiscovered Realms. Traitor soul is the combination + of those two, keep those two original. Traitor Soul makes the most sense for expanding on dungeons and hub world. OR at the least new dungeons and content added to undiscovered realms should also apply to traitor soul. - Shop refresh through paying gold (With gambler too). - Access to the games settings/options without having to leave the game. - An option to check for auto fishing. You click once, and it auto succeeds or fails. No click needed. Skip Fish Animation After Catch. - Ability to pay gold to reach a certain floor you've already reached. - When holding alt or shift after clicking identify scroll, you can continuously identify until out of scrolls or the book. - When enchanting, keep the item/weapon/gear with the option to keep enchanting so that we dont have to constantly repeat the process of opening up the enchanter, drag and dropping gear, most of the time the same gear back in over and over. - Remaining timer on my buffs/spells like old games (Weird this was removed. Massive pain). - Manual reset of dungeons by holding control and left clicking on the portal/staircase. EXTRA FLARE STUFF - A Fish Catalogue + Bestiary would be dope. - Glowing beam and sound effect when ultra rare or legendary things / high value loot drops. - Customizable playthrough start settings.(Ex: How scarce is loot, death penalty off vs on, max number of summons, etc) - Transmog station to be used with the base game or the suggestion directly above this. - Make items one slot. - Obviously we all (Most of us) would like co-op but this is low priority out of everything hence it being at the bottom - When identifying at the NPC identify all party members inventory to (Of course for the right price) - Summons dont drain time in town **Things may be obvious to long time fans or acceptable, but these things are holding it back from being better. Still one of my fav games, but has more than a few areas where fixing/addressing would make this shine much more. If there is already a way to do any of these things let me know please :)**

I genuinely love the Fate games. To have all the games in one place with updates and beautiful graphics make me so happy. Down sides are fishing for your money is broken not a single yellow, but to counter that the quests reward lots of gold. I also can't bring over my ring saved from over 20 retirements (it was so powerful I can't loose and don't even take damage wearing it.)
Absolutely love the game and have been a fan of the franchise for years. As much as appreciate them bringing back the game I would probably recommend the older versions still. The graphics are pretty but there are lots of bugs (especially with quests) MY BIGGEST GRIPE IS WHY CANT WE CHANGE KEYBINDING In 2026!!!!!!! If playing on steam deck or ROG ALLY this is the version I would go for
Good game, but it wont let you use console commands on newer computers. its something they should put into the game, like the old Fate game had it, luckily i got this on a deal for like 5 bucks. Sill f**king sucks that i cant use them any more.
Upvote for Fate Downvote for Gamigo, scumbags.
The best dungeon crawler RPG i ve played
who up reawakening their fate
Surprisingly Fun Despite Being a Hot Mess

Recommendation
If you're looking for a dungeon crawler game for kids, try Torchlight II before you get this game. Unlike Fate Reawakened, Torchlight II is easy to mod (and it doesn't need mods nearly as badly as Fate Reawakened does). If you do get Fate Reawakened game, get a hold of someone somewhat technical. You need both a mod tool as well as a mod that allows you to adjust the gold, experience, and fame you get in the game. I am not in any way joking when I say that you need 200 times the gold the game gives you. I found what I needed on Nexus Mods in case you want a place to start looking.
The Hot Mess Part 1: The In-Game Economy
The in-game economy is something I could only see for truly die-hard gamers (and NOT for kids). The amount of gold you get versus what you need is utterly ridiculous. And the only thing I can figure is that the economy is so broken is because the developers didn't implement a tiered gear structure. What I mean by a tiered gear structure is what you will find in Torchlight II. You start out getting a piece of leather armor, and then you work on up to some kind of full plate mail. After that, it starts over. And now your piece of "epic" leather armor gives more protection than full plate mail. You will work up to "epic" full plate mail before you're back to a third tier of leather armor. Because the developers of Fate didn't want to mess around with the complicated spreadsheets necessary to make a tiered system of loot, you will trade out your gear very, very infrequently. Therefore, you get a lot less money. And as a result, the game is much less rewarding than just about every dungeon crawler I've ever played. And I've been playing dungeon crawlers since Diablo on Windows 95. And again, because of the above paragraphs about the game economy, the enchanter in the game is the harshest enchanter of any game I have ever played. It will screw up a piece of gear on a very regular basis. Why must that be the case? Because there is so very little gear in the game. Each masterpiece piece of gear that you get is what you will have until the very end of four chapters of the game. Therefore, each masterpiece is incredibly hard to get.
The Hot Mess: Everything Else
You'll see an in-game tip tell you all about the jewelry that your pet can wear. That sounds great! And it would be, but you will have to remember to unequip and reequip your pet's jewelry every time you go down to a lower floor of the dungeon. Why do you need a button next to your quests so that you can cancel them? Because some quests cannot be completed. I found three bugs that cause quests to not register that you completed them. And I stopped accepting the "kill boss monster and his minions" quests because of how often I had to cancel them after I had fully completed the quest. Oh, look! You can import characters from the first Fate chapter to the next chapters in the game! How cool is that? Well, it would be cool, but the game has no idea what level you are when you import a character. So, you'll endure dozens of levels where you will literally run past enemies because they are not even worth your time. And the kicker about this is that the game can generate 2 billion labyrinth levels. Therefore, it would be DIRT SIMPLE for the developers to know exactly what level you are when you import a character. It's just incredibly poor execution. And in case you haven't read other reviews for this game, let me say that many other people have complained bitterly about the inability to remap key bindings. Therefore, if you have a controller, use it. The game's controller support is quite solid whereas the keyboard and mouse support is non-existent.
Does this game do anything well?
The random generation of labyrinths is great, and some of the random battles in those labyrinths will be epic. There are also random treasure rooms full of loot while other floors will be desolate. The spells in Fate are better than spells in most dungeon crawlers. But you have to keep in mind that the game has no character classes. Therefore, once you make a wizard and a summoner, you're pretty much done making new characters. That's a good thing, too. Fate Reawaked was not made for replay value.
Guess my FATE was to play better ARPGs all along. Was curious were Torchlight started, but really should have reminded myself of those games before buying the beta version of a mediocre aRPG (a game that is so much a clone of this game it's user manual on steam has the heading "FATE User Manual"). No personality, no story, no progression in both item, character and sense of exploration. Devs hate fun so much theres a tiny stamina wheel to wander 2.1 billion of the same tedious floors. Why did that need to be a resource management feature? It does nothing but make exploring the nooks and crannies awful. Couldn't even bring myself to do one loop of one "version" of this game. I get why back in the day you might have loved killing time on this, when it's all you had access to on your dads PC, but you're on Steam, you have so much choice at your finger tips, including cheaper options that paints random generation as content (it's filler). Spare yourself, there's a reason games have moved on from these systems.
insanely easy to just pick up and play. fishing is a main mechanic, and i do like some fishing.
