Nice game I really enjoyed it so much
<3 <3 <3 GOOD JOB GUYS!!!

Fate of Kai a un concept intéressant.
Loved the art style but I still hoped that the shadow had more in play, he was antognist but barely there at times. Still tho gg
This game was cute and kept me curious. I never played a game with a picture only (and tags) story. That was pretty cool! I almost gave up in mining section but glad Chat got me through that. It was worth playing! One thing I'd request if dev makes future games is to offer 1080p windowed mode. The reason is that the game sound stops every time you click out for OBS, Chat, etc., making stream less smooth. Although not much replayability, it was a great one-off game and I got to experience a new game style. Great job on this and I hope to see more! I picked this up on Keymailer; thanks for offering the key because I otherwise might not have ran into Fate of Kia>
Cuando crees que dominas las mecánicas, pum! Toma lo tuyo. Juego realizado por argentinos, muy recomendado.
What is this game?
Fate of Kai is a comic book style point and click puzzle game where you use actions in different places to change the story. This all to get Kai to the unnamed castle that shall unlock his chains, freeing him from the chest he carries.
Price/replay value
Horrible - Bad - Decent - Good - Amazing
Achievement hunting
Most achievements are story related and thus unmissable. The others can be picked up by replaying a chapter from the selection menu. The only annoying achievement is the
comic book door one
.
Keymailer coverage video
https://youtu.be/aw2Jnf6J1a0
Pros/cons
Pros

Very nice art
Interesting mechanics
Cons

Incredibly short
Chapter 6 timer
Very little freedom

Overall opinion
I'd love to have a neutral option for cases like these... Overall I would say this game was mostly enjoyable. The puzzles were alright for the most part
the forest and clock sections could've used a better explanation...
. And the art style is great and breathes life into the game. The story honestly felt fairly weak and pretty unclear on what it wanted to say... The ending also felt fairly unsatisfying in my opinion as it made little sense. The mechanics are interesting and I feel they could've definitely made a bigger game with what was given, considering how much freedom there could be with the actions. The game time definitely took a hit at the cost of great art however, which is a fair shame in my eyes. Having a game that offers roughly an hour of play time to finish for 6 bucks feels fairly steep, especially when one of the puzzles is incredibly repetitive and a literal time waster that can't be skipped in any way. I'd recommend trying this game out if you see it on sale (assuming you like obscure mechanics) as there's definitely some cool stuff in here, but it just felt fairly flat to me at times.
tldr;
Very short, kinda fun.
Should you buy it?
Try it out when it's on sale I'd say. (You can finish it and still refund if you dislike the experience, so nothing is lost.)
TL:DR, Extremely short, and has a color blindness problem with a specific puzzle. It's alright, worth the $1.74 I paid for on sale, but it's obscurely short. A total of an hour, but I'd say it's more like half an hour since I got stuck on a specific puzzle that isn't hard, but completely unfair to me.
The mining puzzle where you have to quickly pick specifically colored rocks, while on a short timer, is rough for someone who is colorblind. I had to screen share and have my friend direct me to which rocks were specific colors. Doesn't help that when you fail the puzzle, you have to sit through half a minute/ a full minute of waiting till you can try again depending if you "open" a book. I would have never completed this puzzle otherwise since there is no consistent, distinct difference in the rocks to differentiate them from one another other than color.
It's one very huge flaw for colorblindness, with no work around in game. Art is good, music not memorable but it does its job. Story is... there? I kind of got it but it felt so weirdly paced I wasn't sure what the point was. This game isn't worth $7 dollars, way too short, but if you are curious you can grab it on sale and try it out.
É um ótimo passatempo, tranquilo de jogar, com imagens bem desenhadas e uma música relaxante.
