Отличный шутер, который положил начало легендарной франшизы. Без него не появился бы легендарный Far Cry 3. Главные плюсы игры - атмосфера, геймплей и музыка. Графика была вообще прорывом для 2004 года вместе с Half-Life 2 и Doom 3. Сейчас она смотрится так себе, но ее легко улучшить при помощи модов. Моя оценка - 8.7 из 10. P.S. Очень жду ремейка этой легендарной части.

Wow, this game is literally the definition of aged like fine wine, the guns, bunch of different enemy types (which i didn't expect from a 2004 game), the cool small details like armor being damaged if you pick it up from a killed enemy and it being full, game's amazing. There are some janky and a bit frustrating things about the game, one of them being that in some areas which i saw in a review (not all of them), enemies can shoot you through the walls, depending on what difficulty you're playing, it can be a bit frustrating, i played on medium, so it wasn't that bad, the broken AI is something i also read in a review, where enemies can spot you from miles away, despite not seeing or hearing you, while this can also be frustrating depending on what difficulty you play, i didn't find it really annoying or frustrating, especially since far cry 1 and 2 are not meant to be stealth games at all, and yeah, while i do know the game teaches you about rock throwing like in 3 and the later games, the enemy AI is just broken, there are no takedowns in 1 and 2, and the game is just simply not meant to be stealth. Also props to them for not having AI/companion babysitting, i was really expecting for there to be multiple levels where you'd have to babysit Val, but no, and the levels that you do have Val with you, she has enough health and the levels are easy, + the companion AI is good. Ultimately, the OG Far Cry is a great game, it genuinely beats 5, New dawn, and 6, while i haven't played New dawn and 6, i'm positive they're terrible, New dawn is just a half-assed sequel/dlc of 5, and 6 is definitely just another RPG/grindy slop one, and an insult to the franchise, It's really sad knowing that some franchises are just over, and that no matter how much they continue, the newer games of said franchise will never be the same (cough, AC, cough).

Far Cry is a true classic that still holds up remarkably well. Even though it was released in 2004, the huge tropical maps, freedom to tackle enemies with stealth or full-on action, and surprisingly smart AI make it an enjoyable experience. The graphics were revolutionary for their time, and the gunplay remains satisfying. The story is simple but does its job, while the challenging gameplay keeps you on your toes throughout the campaign. The only downsides are a few difficulty spikes, some dated mechanics, and the need for community fixes to run perfectly on modern systems. If you're a fan of classic FPS games, Far Cry is absolutely worth playing and deserves its place as one of the genre's most influential titles. 9/10 from me.
