Far Cry 3 - Blood Dragon

A perfect example of short and sweet, hindered only by the garbage Ubisoft connect pause issue. It really wasn't that bad after I knew to expect it, but still, the game is significantly more annoying having to wait for Ubisoft to try to connect to something that isn't supported anymore for 30 seconds every time I want to check something in the pause menu. I've never played anything Far Cry before, and I found the first 30 minutes difficult (on the medium difficulty) as I got comfortable with the gameplay. But once I got to the open world aspect of the game, it all clicked and I enjoyed every second of it. Taking the bases is super fun, hunting the collectibles is nice and casual, and the over the top campy 80s vibe is super fun and pretty funny. Plenty of epic explosions and one liners, if you see it on sale absolutely pick it up.

The dragons don't have wings. 0/10 But seriously, if you like Fry Cry games, this one is a Far Cry game. Map is boring, but the cybernetic aesthetic and synthwave soundtrack are a nice change of pace from your typical entry in the series. Real short and simple but still fun for a weekend. I like how the game skips all the progression and makes you super tough right from the get-go (no fall damage, can breathe underwater, etc.). Just beware that the Blood Dragon servers are offline, but every time you pause, the game attempts to connect, forcing you to sit there for a minute until it times out. This can be mitigated with mods and whatnot, but it's a nuisance either way. Ubisoft gonna Ubisoft.
