There are a handful of things you need to know about this game (pun not intended): - This game was made by a TASer (Tool Assisted Speedrunner), and considering the name of the game is speed, it definitely shows in the gameplay. - No controller support, not that the game was made with it in mind. Steam Deck players, you might want to plug in a mouse. - There is heavy SMB3 influence in the aesthetics. It's not a bad thing - it's the exact opposite, in fact! Now that we got those out of the way, here's my review of Fantastic Fist summed up in about as many words you can count with your fingers on a hand (w/ no spoilers): THROW FIST, MAKE RUN! This is a speed game in a similar vein to Celeste, except instead of having an ability that bolsters your mobility directly (e.g. dash), you have to manipulate objects (that can make you go faster) in order to solve the various puzzles you're going to encounter. And of course, you'll want to do it quickly at high level play and git gud with the (already simplistic) controls, because there are a handful of challenges for certain collectibles that require you to be quick and creative with the only tool you have at your disposal - the eponymous Fist. Definitely a must-play, especially if you catch it on sale.

its 2 am and i have to physically stop myself from trying to finish the rest of the game in one night. i like it just a moderate amount
I guess the fist is kind of neat, but the actual controls are sticky and clumsy in a way I've never experienced in another game. The heroine moves as if she's stuck to the ground with glue and the way the fist moves is non-intuitive at best. If you're not the precise speedrunner audience then I'd advise moving on.
Damn good puzzle game and platformer alike, with incredible secrets and 100% requirements that are perfectly balanced difficulty wise. Only issue I have is sometimes punch speeds are finicky but its nothing that bad.
Cute and really unique platformer. The sheer number of mechanics/obstacles/elements is actually pretty insane, you're gonna get something new to play with basically every new level. A level editor would really work out for this game. The using your cursor as a fist that interacts with almost anything mechanic which the game revolves around is quite fun, though it does feel finicky sometimes, like when you move your fist so fast you almost break the sound barrier but the game still registers it as a small hit. It's pretty clear the game has a lot of soul put into it, after all the dev took about 8 years to develop it! The little speech the dev added at the end of 100% is touching, almost brought me to tears, really. Great game, recommend it for people who like 2D (puzzle) platformers.
This game was made for me. I of course don't mean that Chris Siebert made this game because I told him to. I mean that as someone who has played a lot of games with multiple characters at the same time (Fireboy and Watergirl, New Super Mario Bros Wii, U, and 3D world while using multiple controllers at the same time for various challenges), this game felt like it was designed for what I have learned in the past, and what I love doing in games. The game constantly introduces new mechanics, and does so in a logical seamless way. It never takes more than a few moments to understand what a mechanic does, or how to use it. However just because you understand a mechanic doesn't mean you are instantly perfect at it, as it takes some time to feel how different mechanics affect your momentum. This game is not easy, requiring a lot of thought on where to keep your fist while platforming at the same time, however 99% of the deaths in this game I can say were my own fault and were not cheap deaths (the other 1% was Unity jank). The games atmosphere is held together really well, and it is really impressive that Chris Siebert solo deved not just the game physics and mechanics, but also the art and music. I can see his vision throughout the entire game, and feel like the game is extremely cohesive. Thank you for putting out the call to action in your last video, as it caused me to buy this game, whereas if you hadn't, I wouldn't have known about this amazing game. And thank you for creating this amazing game.
its soooo peak bro these mechanics slap harder than you will while playing this. it is lacking somewhat in the sound effects department but the music is fire. recommended for any puzzle or platformer enjoyers.
Fun platformer with interesting and challenging mechanics. The biggest compliment I can pay it is that I've Alt-F4'd out of it in anger more times than I can count only to go "no, wait, you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I'm back" and reopen it. Plus it has almost as much fisting as the last birthday party I went to.
One of the most unique platformers I've ever played, super fun. I'm definitely going to try to 100% this one.
I like this game a lot. You should play it.
