The game has a lot of good qualities. Party management and RPG like character development aspects in the game are strong and well designed - it does allow you to customise your hird (warband) and even replace some of the starting story line characters with your own custom designed warriors. This is great and more diverse than Rome and Conquistadors by far. That is where you can be lulled into a false sense of bravado however (especially on hard and higher difficulty) as therein lies the pitfall - you will get wiped out fast if you don't have the 'right' party composition and use shields a lot. despite there being a lot of other weapons and character builds to try. So marks off for that part of the game design. Essentially its just a lack of balance in my opinion, but i get how it makes the game harder for the scaling. RNG will hurt you lot in the game but you can reload and try again as required, if thats something you are comfortable with doing. I like the graphics for the type of game it is - budget etc, but the camera id poor - it really does not let you zoom out much and the tilt is also irrelevant. Luckily using ALT will highlight the key interactions on any map so you don't miss out there on exploration but combat views are not great. The soundtrack is excellent and sets a great atmosphere for the playthrough and there is plenty of conversations and replay value based on the decisions you choose ass you progress. So thumbs up for that, it is done well. Overall i recommend the game but caution people that it comes with balance issues and average RNG issues. Archer LoS for the enemy is not a thing but the player it ruins battles - you can not shoot someone crouched 3 hex spaces away despite literally being able to see most of their body, and you get sniped across the map by their archers, yeah - grind your teeth over that a few times. Better than Rome and Conquistadors i would say. Worth a playthrough at least once and if you like the genre of game and the viking setting then definitely get this in a sale. Easily worth more than a lot of recent AAA games with their stupid price tags.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Somewhat of a rough start for me due to getting used to the game mechanics. Decent Act 1 (<10 hours), great Act 2 (15-20 hours) and short Act 3 (2-3 hours, mostly wrapping up the game). Overall fun experience roleplaying as a viking - aggressive or peaceful, with decent fun decision making. Great worldbuilding! Some minor gripes about looting (body looting can be annoying, but resource gathering / management can be satisfying), generally good leveling up system (perks, not stats; you are encouraged to min-max your stats / perks on each character - at least 1 maxed out stat - and not doing so can hurt in the long run, i.e. me) and good progression on armor/weapon (will be rewarded for dabbling in the crafting system, but you will unfortunately max out about halfway in Act 2 if you try hard enough). Highly recommend the game if you like viking show(s). Best to play play on Medium difficulty (Hard is hard as a first playthrough, I started on Hard and couldnt git gud).
A bit unpolished, but it was awesome, wish i got to play more. Unfortunately, it black screened my PC, and then crashed repeatedly upon loading new locations. Pay people to check for bugs, thanks
I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay. After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like. Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends. Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together. Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you.
They told me I can be anything I want, so I became a murderhobo. And, unlike in most crpgs, it was actually fun, rewarding and fitting the story and the setting.
This is a very good RPG with a solid turn-based combat system and a lot of historically credible exploration. Everything on the creative side is superlative. The setting, plot, quests, characters, dialogue, everything is written brilliantly, and everything is also coherent and believable both logically and atmospherically. The graphics of the locations are crafted in the same vein, they are gorgeous and quite perfect to the last minute detail, and help in creating impeccable immersion. Even the loading screens are brilliant and heighten the experience. There is a lot of content, and a lot of replay value due to a branching story and smaller mutually exclusive decisions. The gameplay side is not as perfect, but it is still good. There are many minor annoyances (like traps which are very dangerous, but basically invisible on screen even after they are "found", and to top it off disarming them is not possible until completing the entire trap skill tree). Despite this being an old game, I still came across some bugs (again mainly inconveniences, nothing game-breaking, but the most obvious ones should definitely have been found and fixed). The game also does not do a great job at giving the player all the needed information. Basically one either needs to first play one or several training takes to figure out what actually should be done (there is a time limit so just wandering around will not work, and experimenting with character builds is also challenging as skill points can't be redistributed), or resort to online tips (perhaps advisable due to the length of the game). All in all, the strong writing was enough to carry the game over the occasional rough waters. Most of the time I enjoyed the game a lot; if you like RPGs, turn-based combat, and/or vikings, I can definitely recommend this.
