About
The world-machine is broken. The sun has become a baleful orb of radiation. The Celestial Bureaucracy is in disarray. You, the Captain-General of a great ark, must lead your people rimwards, away from the gaze of the green sun.
Survive your voyage by maximising your production of valuable resources:
Food fuels your buildings, and stockpiles increase their cycle speed.
Production allows you to construct more buildings on your ever-expanding ark.
Inspiration enables you to hire crew members with unique skills to improve your buildings.
... or buy buildings and hire crew members outright by spending Gold at the dockside markets.

Pick between a range of Great Houses, each with their own unique ark, buildings and crewmates. Command House Arioch's golden flagship, the Diurnal Ark, and harness the expertise of their engineers and artisans - or choose House Mnesis, whose ark, the titanic Shepherd Moon, is a motherlode of precious raw materials.
Exploit the Houses' specialities, mitigate their shortcomings, and lead them to a safe refuge on the rim.

Explore a vibrant world, with diverse biomes and settlements.
Command 4 unique Great Houses, each requiring a different strategy to reach victory.
Build your ultimate engine with over 100 buildings and specialized crew members.
Play at your own pace with pause and time acceleration.
Multiple routes to victory, either focusing on peaceful production or blasting your enemies into submission.

Klare Kaufempfehlung!
The dopamine is flowing, but it needs some technical fixes

EXARK is strange. At one hand, I like every bit and bob of it - artstyle is neat, polished. Sounds and visuals are very good for the pixel-art route picked here. Mechanics are robust, there are plenty of ways to build a functional numbers-go-up engine that feels satisfying to toss together. Everything feels fine and scratches that brainy itch. But at the same time I have a nagging feeling that there could be more? Not even content wise, just... more of something. Jubilation, perhaps? The game feels very business like, sometimes. Winning doesn't feel like winning - no fanfares, no big popups with YOU WON CHIEF, but a dry excel sheet telling you to go again. In fact that might be what nags me - the game feels a bit dry: mechanically spot on, visually pleasant, but just a bit... Too formal. Like it's anti-thesis to VAMPIRE SURVIVORS where everything is bling, ding, lights and sizzle. Still. Great little game :)
Great soundtrack, fun gameplay if not a bit easy. It really tickles the adjacency-bonus part of by brain in a good way.
It's fun but wildly unbalanced, max difficulty is basically heavy RNG on whether you even get the ability to draft something that can survive past the first one or two rounds.
It could use some work but I have fun with this. Reminds me of The King is Watching a bit. I'd personally welcome an option to select the length of the run, as for me 9 rounds feels a bit too short. (The game goes into some kind of reduced endless mode after that). Some extra unlockable elements that would define your intended playstyle before you start your run would be great too. If the devs won't give up on the game and keep adding new things, I think this could be actually a great game.
I've had quite a lot of fun with this game! It's pretty challenging at first (at least for me, I don't play these types of games much), but once I figured out a few good combos it became much easier. The game is super charming, the soundtrack is amazing, and there's a lot of cool stuff to unlock. I haven't run into any of the technical issues other reviewers have mentioned. Honestly I'm surprised this game isn't way more popular than it is!
Gros gros coup de coeur !
it's basically an early access game, there's so little to do. the gameplay for each ship is kinda the same.
