For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
This game is not a bad value—it offers plenty of replayability and will take you a long time to beat, with serviceable gameplay. But is it worth your time? I would argue it's not worth your time because the game feels a little too RNG-based, leading to frustrating deaths. I also found the first sector, even after 10 hours, to be woefully boring due to its repetitive kill-and-loot gameplay loop. The DLC helps, but often those stories aren't available until the 2nd or 3rd sectors anyway. Without the DLC stories, the repetition in the first sector gets quite tiresome. Movement-wise and in terms of shooting mechanics, I preferred Everspace over Chorus, though Chorus had much better presentation and graphics. But I think the most critical flaw is how grindy Everspace became after 15 hours—with only about 20 percent of perks/ship upgrades unlocked. The slow unlock system really hinders your ability to progress to the other sectors. It doesn’t help that looting and exploring the sectors is so time-consuming—it might take 30 minutes before you encounter anything engaging in a playthrough. I think the developer favored repetitious grind with gated progression to artificially lengthen the time needed to beat the game, and didn’t fully grasp what makes roguelikes fun in the first place. A good roguelike allows you to beat the game in one playthrough, even on your first try, if the design is tight and balanced. Unfortunately, I feel like the developer didn’t know how to make an engaging roguelike, which might explain why they pivoted to a full looter-shooter approach in the sequel. In the end, I didn’t feel like investing another 45 hours of my life looting tirelessly through mediocre combat. Overall: 5/10

So what's it about?
In Everspace you are a pilot that is stuck in a rogue lite time loop. You start a selection of one (or two when you have the DLC) ship(s) and as you do a run you earn credits that you can use to upgrade some of the many systems making your ship stronger and more capable for the next run. You can also unlock two additional ships when you earn enough credits in a run. Your goal is to complete the trip through 7 sectors (each has around 5 maps) that are procedural generated. It will take some time before you will be able to pull that off. When you enter a new sector more of the story is told to you.
The good
The visuals are still great (better when you fly 3rd person than in the cockpit) especially above planets. There is a variety of weapons; the selection of enemies is limited but good enough for the scope of the game. You can attack neutrals to earn more stuff but the consequence is that they will defend themselves so better make sure you're ready for the challenge. The story gives a purpose to the game and is quite nicely done. It's on a budget but it is effective enough to help you understand as you get further in the game. There is a basic crafting system in the game so you can fine tune weapons and items or craft more missiles and mines. With three difficulty levels you can balance the play through - I recommend starting on easy as the game is quite hard and unforgiving when you have not done any upgrades.
The not so good
After a feel runs the game starts to feel more of the same and that's is the major down side and why in the end I didn't want to play anymore. For the first couple of hours there is not a feeling of making progress; it's the same all over again with boundaries put in place like limited fuel and repair opportunities. If you don't have fuel you can still jump to a new system but this will damage your ship. As opportunities to repair the damage are slim it will start to block your progress as you become to weak to carry on. The flight model is simplistic and it feels at times you are on rails instead of having 6 Degrees of Freedom (DoF). The cockpits are dated. I didn't like that I lost all my credits every time I lost the shop - it means to unlock more expensive items like ships you need to have a very good run otherwise there is no way you can unlock these parts.
Bugs and glitches
I didn't experience any glitches or bugs other than that the sound volume of the in-game cut scenes was a lot louder, almost distorted, compared to the rest of the game.
The DLCs
There is one DLC that adds a quests, NPCs, items and a new ship. If you can get it on sale then you may want to consider it as it adds a lot to the game. It is not essential though.
Summary
Everspace is a Rogue Lite arcade space sim. You complete runs and at the beginning of every run you can use the credits you earned in the previous run to upgrade your pilot or ship. The story is nicely done and the game is bug / glitch free except for the loud sound volume during the cut scenes. A big down side is that after a few runs it feels more of the same. The flight model is quite simplistic and the cockpit graphics feel dated. The game is very much feast or famine with limited repair and fuel opportunities.
Should you buy it?
If you like space and roguelite games then maybe? It throws a hard challenge at you but after a couple of runs the game starts to feel more of the same and that is what made me quit the game as I was no longer having fun; but YMMV.
Great game, fun flight mechanics easy to learn. Bit of a repetitive gameplay loop as most rogue likes are but I find it perfect to escape to when I'm up late and need to burn an hour or 2
a lot of fun. great arcade-style space combat flight game. it was very difficult to get my controller set up, but besides that, I have nothing else negative to say in ~6 hours of play. sometimes the RNG sucks, but that comes with the roguelike element. no reason I wouldn't recommend this, but if you're set on playing with a controller, expect a big hassle.
I usually don't like Roguelikes because they can be pretty frustrating.. But this one is great - it has decent story, the deaths are part of it, the characters are great and fun (especially Hive and its sarcasm). Moreover, the gameplay feels good and responsive and performance is very good.
I don't really understand the sudden low ratings - game is still very fun and still plays great!
Congratulations, you played yourself.
