20 euro per month. LOL. For what?
I was going to write wall of text on what I dislike about EVE and how to fix it, but in the end - devs never listen to their community and pursue their own abstract goals. So I ended up with few most pressing points / showstoppers (imho of course): [list] [*] Ganking. And no real way to defend from it. [*] No skill training past skill-points threshold for 'alphas'. Lose omega == lose 99% of game entertainment, ships you've earned and equipment you've got. [*] Forced PvP you can't avoid. [*] Grind in the name of the grind. Wrost thing is that here grind won't even make you feel more powerful, its just pointless repetition of mindless activities day-by-day. [list]

if you're a new player, forget it, you'll never catch up, even if you pay for the monthly premium subscription game is full of multiboxers - people play this game with several other subscription accounts at the same time, so they're just a fleet on their own that you can't touch game is also full of campers, or gankers - people who sit outside of space stations and blow you up in 3 seconds flat once you leave and you can't do anything about it. happened to me but apparantly it's my fault because i was 'slow' and 'careless', and players just accept this as the norm, as do the devs - probably because of all that money they're getting from the multiboxers i was close to investing in the subcription but then i realised i'd have to subcribe several times to match with said multiboxers, yeah nah screw that i'll only play this because i have a friend who helps me out but without his charity i'd never bother this game its too grindy, confusing, and you must rely on third party tools/sites to explain mechanics that the in-game tutorial never bothers to mention
Signal scanned to 100% Cannot warp-to; no Scanned Signal plus the 'simulation' is just clicking on thou8sands of menus, with some obligatory graphics tossed in
This game is not free to play, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. War thunder is about 5x less expensive to play, and its not like you actually get anything constant either, its a subscription that costs more than my streaming services.
its "free" but there is plenty of stuff you'll never be able to do unless you decide to pay a monthly subscription. if that's your thing, have at it.
This "game" was just clicking buttons on a menu. Boring slop.
juice ain't worth the squeeze
I've played off and on and really tried to like it. Pro's: Big Universe, lots to do/look at Con's: You have to be in a corp to have backup and make any real money and I can't find a corp that isn't a whole bag of d*cks. Chat is often filled with infantile little dweebs that are just chirping or scams/advertisements Bot fleets f*cking over the economy. Local space is often crowded with advertisement jetcans (see previous "bag of d*cks" comment) It takes forever to get well equipped, good ships if running solo. Then, you get smoked by 10 gankers and start again It's really pay to play. If you want to use all parts of the game, it's subscription and 20 bucks a month is steep for something that's less fun than my job (engineer) In order to make decent money its like having another job. I've already got a career, a house and a family. With precisely what spare time do I have to join a corp, get f*cked over, rebuild, try another corp, get f*ckeed over again, rinse, lather, repeat. I've got 4 characters with millions of skill points each, stacks of original, fully researched blueprints and no desire to ever play this again. Oh, and don't believe the 101 hrs on record. I was playing seriously years before Steam was invented.
I played EVE Online for a little over a month last year with my other account not linked with steam. Recently, I came across a BBC video covering a major faction war that took place around November to December 2025. The conflict involved players and alliances that had spent years, in some cases decades, building their empires. One faction suffered a devastating defeat, and its leader eventually quit the game along with others who spent time and thousands of money to play this game. Watching that story reignited my interest and convinced me to log back in. When I returned, I had forgotten most of the controls and mechanics. Thankfully, my interface setup, tabs, and configurations were still intact. After spending some time reacquainting myself with the game, I had a realization. EVE Online is not just a game. It is almost a hobby, a lifestyle, and in some cases a second job. The depth is staggering. There is always another goal, another skill to train, another ship to build, another market opportunity to chase, or another war to participate in. At the same time, that depth comes with a cost. The game demands a significant investment of time and attention if you want to experience its most rewarding aspects. I realized that if I fully committed to EVE right now, it would consume a large portion of my waking hours, time that I would rather dedicate to other goals and projects I want to accomplish. Because of that, I cannot broadly recommend EVE Online to everyone. If you have a long list of personal ambitions, hobbies, or responsibilities that already compete for your time, be aware of what you are getting into. EVE rewards dedication though at times it is small, and it can easily become the center of your gaming life. That said, if there ever comes a day when I decide to live like a recluse, disappear into a virtual universe, and fully immerse myself in a single game, EVE Online would be near the top of my list. For now, im uninstalling.
