Eternal Threads

I really enjoyed this game, while it seems simple at first it gradually becomes complacated seeing how characters react to changes you make. I also loved all of the little secrets and how the house changes depending on what you choose.

Bought this in the bundle along with Still Wakes The Deep, considering that this game did look promising with the whole aspect of time and, consequently, event manipulation. However, as you actually sit down to play it, it feels eternal. Pun intended. It's nearly excruciating to sit through. I managed to get through seventeen of the sequences until I just about had enough. I eventually took a glance at the timemap, only to figure out how much there is left, to see that it stretches well over 100 sequences? The timeline is rather straightforward, sure, but my goodness... The main issue is: there is not a lot of gameplay. You can tamper with timelines while conducting your investigation. On the timeline, you can choose events that will draw attention to particular characters and locations. You become a fly on the wall after that, observing and choosing between A and B IF the sequence is designated for a choice. People can be easily followed since they typically give away their next move. The house has a limited number of rooms, and there aren't many opportunities for them to avoid each other. As a resultm there is a lot of running between rooms. Might revisit, but I will drop it for now.

It's not a bad game after all, but since i had to choose between the thumb up and the thumb down it came down on a list of pros and cons that finally weighted on the cons side. PROS: novel idea, based around some sweet sweet time travelling. It got me hooked on wanting to watch all the possibilities and i also grew somewhat close to the charachters. The fact that you see them mostly in everyday life scenarios makes the game feel like reality. This kicks in just at the beginning when you have to position relays as if it were a part of your actual job. Brilliant. CONS: it is very SLOW. It all comes down to a puzzle game with 200 unskippable scenes and very repetitive routes around the house. The time map is a nightmare to navigate and he help screens are not written for the sake of clarity. Also the ending was unclear and some choices that lead to the optimal outcome for a character also lead to the optimal ending for two more, as if me and my gf could never be happy until our common friend doesn't come to terms with her personal feelings. Finally: how is controlling their personal choises more plausible than stopping the fire in the first place? Alla in all, a very complicated story to write. After all I can say it was nicely written, nontheless showing weak spots every once in a while. The interface is terrible, and the finale unrewarding. I enjoyed playing, but it doesn't stand out as a good game. Would not replay.

El juego no brilla por mecánica, sino por historia y giros de trama. Nota general 7/10 (repetitivo) (Buena historia) (final abierto) ¿vale la pena? Si lo pillas en oferta, Tiempo promedio 10 horas Si te gusta el chisme y el misterio te vas a divertir. El juego presenta momentos de tención, el ambiente acompaña perfectamente. si eres meticuloso con los detalles este juego es para tí. Debes recordar para hacer conexiones de eventos, pero al final puedes modificar los eventos muy facil. La mecanica es Simple, en la primera hora te adaptas a ella, luego se vuelve repetitva.

Un gran bel gioco, peccato sia esclusivamente in inglese. Si riesce a capire la storia dei personaggi ma non completamente proprio per la mancanza della lingua italiana. Nel gioco bisogna manipolare le scelte nel tempo per fare rimanere in vita tutti e 6 i protagonisti e creare il finale migliore per ognuno. I personaggi sono tutti ben caratterizzati con una storia complessa. Lo consiglio a tutti quelli a cui piacciono le storie intricate. Inoltre esiste una sorpresa finale, se si riesce a portare tutti e 6 i protagonisti nel finale migliore. Buon divertimento!

Well, if you like any of the following games, Everybody's gone to the Rapture, Firewatch, What Remains of Edith Finch, Her Story, The Painscreek Killings, Gone Home, Tacoma, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter or dare I say The Suicide of Rachel Foster then there is a very high chance you will like Eternal Threads to. The game itself is simple in its concept; in the distant future humans discovered time travel and in doing so damage the timeline. You are sent back in time to the aftermath of a house fire which claimed the lives of six people who were never meant to die. Your job is to save them. You do this by manipulating (or leaving intact) events from the week leading to their deaths in an effort to save them. I really liked this game, and I liked the characters too, which made me double my efforts to save them. My only complaint is that it's too short and ends on a cliff hanger. I saved everyone and got their best outcomes in 6 hours. I hope the cliff hanger one day is resolved as I would like another game like this. All the best.
