Been on my wish list for a while now. Got it on the Summer Sale for $2.59 so I thought I would give it a whirl cuz it looks cool. Main screen is cool with the sounds, but like - no options or settings? First Story Pretty hard, really not fun...the controls are weird. Can't get out of windowed mode which really sucks so I quit. Second Story Can't even expand the screen never mind get out of windowed mode, dealing with a small window sucks. Got completely stuck in the office, couldn't figure it out, quit. Third Story Can't max my screen in windowed mode. The player and walking is clunky, getting into the rooms sucks...quit. Going to heard over to Discussions to see what's in there. But 95% right now I'm going to return for my $2.59 which is extremely sad because it's such a small amount of money. I want to like this game, but man...it really sucks.
10 mini games that are quite fun to play. Not for everyone, but worse the price I think. If you're into game design you might like it a bit more.

I mostly only watched the documentary that was also presented alongside the games and the art involved to make said games, but so far I enjoyed it. I can't easily pinpoint why I would recommend it (although I will try), especially since I can believe people think this is too much to pay for a collection of games that are (mostly) free elsewhere. I guess, in the end, the simplest way to explain why is to say that the documentary pulled at my heartstrings. The conversations the devs have together aren't very structured (there is a structure, somewhere, but it's loose to say the least lmao), but they're real. I kinda sat there, listening, wondering why I was so touched. Why I kept playing the videos, one after the other, within one day, knowing that I could have spread it out, or rather, tried maybe experiencing the games they were talking about more than just opening them for a few seconds for the achievements. But I think it's probably because the stories themselves show me that there are people out there that create games and live off of it despite everything else around them. There's people out there - people who are willing to put their own stories forward in such a collection. I don't know. It's like 4 am as I am writing this. I don't have many concrete thoughts to say, if I am being honest. I just enjoyed seeing and geeting to know vignettes of the lives that made the games. And personally, even if 9/10 games are found elsewhere, even if you couldn't really care less about buying it exactly for that reason, I'd say the added documentary itself is worth the money I spent on this (especially since I bought it on sale in a bundle). The value lies in supporting this dev team, and in watching the videos where they all speak about the games they have made, and how, and their craft. Maybe those, in and of themselves, are the essays on empathy that are showcased. (Which the games sometimes fit, and sometimes don't, depending on the title.)
Some of these stories were hard to get through, heavy topics, intense emotions. The soundtrack's amazing.
Great game which shows history and struggles of indy development, while allowing to appreciate art pieces of their career. While there's some glitches and junk in the games (especially first one, my God) the rising quality of craft makes games from 5th onward quite emotionally deep experiences and last game, made for this collection, made me reflect on my own relationship and close to tear up. Highly recommending.
