Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 20.86/day in the week to Aug 11 → 25.71/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Esoteric Ebb is an isometric, Disco-like, TTRPG-turned-CRPG set in a bizarre post-Arcanepunk fantasy setting. You are The Cleric, an expert in esoteric events, and a glorified government goon. Inspired by classic CRPG games, Esoteric Ebb features deep and branching dialogs with a staggering amount of choices.
Create the world’s worst cleric. Take on the city through tense TTRPG dice rolls. Struggle to maintain control with your Stats chiming in at every moment. Let the voices guide you into insane encounters and hit that natural 20 right when you need it. Become the most interesting player at the table and completely ruin your DM’s day.
Five days until the first-ever election, a tea shop explodes in the heart of the city. They send you to deal with the mess.
You wake up in a morgue with half the river in your boots, surrounded by ten thousand rotting apples, several corpses, and one zombie. Out of your depth and with no official backup, you delve into your beloved city to investigate the impossible mystery no one wants you to solve. Juggle factions and play them against each other. Explore the streets and tunnels of a fantasy metropolis. Debate devils, drunk sphinxes, and all manner of fantastical fools in a world where mythological creatures sell newspapers at corner shops and ideologies overtake the ramblings of dead gods.

Don’t forget the most important question: What are you voting in the election?
MAKE CHOICES THAT WILL COME BACK TO BITE YOU. Shifting alliances! Risky dungeoneering! Complete open-ended quests, low and high-stakes alike, set in the streets, towers, and dark tunnels of Norvik. Become the city’s savior, its demise, or bumble your way into absolute power.
TRUST THE DICE. Let chance guide you! Roll to wrestle dwarves, steal anything in sight, or to keep yourself from looking like a complete fool. But remember, in true TTRPG fashion, failure can often be way more interesting.

IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD. Debate yourself! Each Ability Stat has a conflicting viewpoint and loves to interrupt important conversations. No matter whose side you fall on, you'll complete quests in wonderfully ridiculous ways.

WIELD REALITY-SHAPING MAGIC. Use The Cleric’s power for unique narrative choices. Control minds for fun and profit. Detect secrets in the tunnels below or in the thoughts of your enemies. Speak with anyone, living or dead, just to see how they insult you.

TURN-BASED ENCOUNTERS. Clerics in Norvik are taught to use violence as a last resort. When the need does arise, a roll of the dice determines life or death. But you always have a bizarre solution to any problem, don’t you?

THE QUESTING TREE. Your quest log, skill tree, and mind map all at once. Each Quest Branch can take root in your mind and alter The Cleric’s playstyle through game-changing feats.

I'm not even close to being done, but I am so very much enjoying myself playing this title. It's a lot of reading - doubly so for me, as I'm recording it for YT and saying EVERYTHING aloud - but the writing is witty and engaging enough that it doesn't feel like a total slog. The mystery has me totally hooked. I'll never forget the moment I finally, fully explored the tea shop... iykyk. The characters are fun and interesting, the art is charming, and there are apples everywhere. What's not to like? Very fun Disco Like with nice art
Solid game, good world and characters.
9/10: Estoeric Ebb is a delightful "Disco-like" that uses some of the basics of D&D's mechanics and spells to create it's own distinct world of fantasy, absurdity, and political shenanigans. Roll dice, make some good friends, and explore the city of Norvik as you track down the culprit behind the local tea shop explosion! You are Ragn Helm, a cleric sent by the local magistrate to find out who blew up the local tea shop before the cities first-ever election starts in 5 days. Unfortunately, you awaken on a slab in the local morgue at level 1 with a bad case of spell-amenesia, so hit the streets, start asking questions, and keep an eye out for spell scrolls to restock your ruined spellbook! Esoteric Ebb is a game about exploration, investigation, and revelation, almost all of which is resolved through dialogue options and 20-sided dice rolls. There is some combat in Esoteric Ebb, but it is carried out in the same manner of dialogue options as the rest of the game does, so it doesn't require timing or aiming, just a high enough spread of stats to bend the odds of succeeding in your favor. That being said, the game does require you to read in order to comprehend what is going on in the narrative, and there is no voice acting unless you count the generic grunts and barks the characters make sometimes, so your own reading speed and comprehension will affect how quickly you play through the game. In the same spirit as Planescape: Torment and Disco Elysium, our protagonist Ragn is simultaneously gifted and a ♥♥♥♥-up. In Ragn's case, one of his gifts is instanteously memorizing spell scrolls that normally take hours or effort to learn. There's a decent amount of spells for Ragn to find hidden away in nooks or given as reward for succeeding dialogue checks, and Disco Elysium succeeds in highlighing many utility spells that often get overshadowed in the usual D&D campaigns such as Enhance Ability and Speak with Animals. There are several opportunities for creative uses of the more niche and non-combat spells you find, so don't be afraid to use one of your available spell slots on a well-timed casting of Grease. Along with that, much like Disco Elysium, Ragn's inner voice is compounded by a collection of contrasting and complimenting voices that represent the core 6 D&D stats: Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma. The stats themselves are each tied to a partiuclar political philosophy, and their frequency and the nuance to their politics seem to grow directly in relation to the stat itself. Strength is Nationalist, Dexterity supports Freestriderism/capitalism, Constitution is Agrarian/farmer-focused, Intelligence wants you to rule as an all-powerful Mage King, Wisdom is Azgalist/socialist, and Charisma wants to be apolitical to stay on everyones good side. If a given stat is below 10, they may present their points bluntly or show up less often than stats that are higher above 10. Thankfully, many of the magic items provide a net positive set of effects when equipped, so you can significantly improve your stats if you equip yourself wisely. Much of the intrigue around the tea shop explosion ties into the local politics around Norvik, which are getting amplified due to the upcoming election. Humans, goblins, birdfolk, merfolk, and other folk around Norvik are all getting ready to vote for the first time ever, and there's a solid set of side-quests that pop up as you learn more about the local people. In addition to the experience and rewards of money or magic items, several of the more significant side-quests also let you select a Feat, some of which can double the money you find or double the stat bonuses certain types of gear grant you. Stylistically, Esoteric Ebb remains isometric but much more colorful and fantasy-based than Disco or Planescape. Ragn isn't as sad and broken as Harry DuBois or the Nameless One, and the city of Norvik isn't as downtrodden or corrupt as Revachol or Sigil, despite the problems it's dealing with and facing in the future. There's still whimsy around Norvik, with esoteric pockets of magic popping up at odd times and friendly devils offering legal advice and enjoying a sunny day in the park. All in all, Esoteric Ebb is a great D&D-inspired Disco-like that leans more towards the absurd than the melancholy. Take the time to explore the ups and downs of the different stats/philosophies, get to know the locals, learn about the unique history and cultures of Norvik and the world surrounding it, and you're bound to find a few moments and lines that are gems. Recommended for fans of detective games, fantasy, point-and-click games, reading, and rolling d20's. Oh by the way, what are you voting for?
Nice DnD session
[H3] This game trully made me reconsider my likings. And i say this because, in my (old) oppinion, i didn't liked heavy dialogues games WITHOUT a voice actor, or voice acting, but this game literally changed that. The story's, the characters, the drama and the politics, even if it was a little bit hard for me to follow(with a full time job working almost all week, was a challange, truly).l What i liked the most were actually the political party's(the azgalist, the urt's, the freestrider, etc) it was actually a good representation of how things works and how people lie under just one single vote, making propaganda and actually doing a literal terrorist political attack. (I'm a azgalist untill my finale). It was overwhelming at times, quite literally, making my head hurt and actually thinking about the in-game world and the life's thoose people live in Norvik, the genocide Urth did to [SPOILER] the goblins kind and how Snell, ur partner, was literally full of rage in the front of URTH, how Ragn and his mother get along when u talk with the azgalist in their home. [SPOILER]That's what i liked about this game, it tackled the political problems and actually put liberals and nationalists in a bad light(and azgalists, but let's be for real now, they were mild compared to the rest). I loved disco elysium, i've been playing that game since it released, the story, the voice acting, the world building, i loved and i still do love that game(i will replay it for maybe 7 time's to make a ,,communist" build) and this game, trully scratched that long long need for another game(of course, i know the hopetown game, is already on my wishlist). The skill/emotions/ whatever u wanna call it, was a really fun and interesting thing, wisdom, dexterity, charisma and intelligence were my go-to, they helped me(90% was wisdom) to actually play this game as how I WOULD do things, and that's how u make a game, a trully good one. In the end, i want to say that, this game is trully a masterpiece, and will age like fine wine, play it, suplort the developer and give ot a shot, the music, the ambiance and the incredibly stunning art-work is a perfect collection of how to make a good game. 8.50/10 ,,This was some esoteric ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥"
such a beautiful hand crafted game with an ending that moved me to tears - excited to see what chris does next 50/50
