Overall I really enjoyed this game, apart from a few things. Most of the puzzles feel really well crafted and exist believably in the world, some however only make sense in the context of this being a puzzle game. There are some bigger puzzles spanning multiple of the main areas of the game, which makes the world feel real and gives you the feeling of really figuring the world out. Speaking of figuring it out: The story begins by giving you a load of questions but over the course of the playthrough you figure out most of what has happened and how and why, again giving you a true feeling of investigation. As for the horror aspect: Speaking as someone who doesn't really like or play a lot of horror games, this game is not so scary. The theme is definitely horror and there are disturbing things happening, but I didn't really get scared. There are a few glitches here and there, some annoyances with the controls and the game doesn't feel like the most polished, there isn't anything too bad from the technical side. And lastly, since such a recommendation is what brought me to this game I will say this: If you loved Outer Wilds, give this game a go. You have (mostly) a similar approach to puzzle design and get a similar satisfaction of figuring out the world and the story. Although I have to say that Enigma of Fear is not as good as Outer Wilds in pretty much every regard, it is still a very good game.

Jogo excelente!
Nota: 7.60
Oh again please Steam give us mixed reviews... This game has some extraordinary well made points and some others disastrously bad. This time I will try to break point by point. Controls: It is okaish except for the combat that is bad, thankfully this game is not combat heavy, interacting with items seems to be a bit broken on controller, I had to use MB+K when examining items to properly check them. Gameplay: The game is 50% open world and 50% linear, at some point it lets you roam free and then it will make you go back to a straight path, this has some good and bad things, giving you the freedom to explore as you wish on a world full of puzzles makes you wander around pointlessly, I was lost more than once I sadly had to look what to do because it was becoming frustrating. Some of the puzzles are just way too obscure I don't see myself finishing this game without having to check a guide at least two or three times. Story: The story is very complex, some portions really caught my attention, but at the same time the game throws you sooo much information, sometimes about puzzles, sometimes about lore and also some useless info that it really confuses you what is important, what should I note, what I don't really care about. Audio/Music: For this part I think they did really good, the game has some bangers at the ambience music in the calm areas is pretty decent. Graphics: One of the things I liked the most of this game, combining 2D characters on a 3D worlds makes that world shine, despite being everything pretty dark, ilumination and construction of the areas is well made, visually speaking. TLDR: My most liked points: Music, Graphics, partially the story My most disliked points: Combat (probably the game with the worst bosses I've every played, all of them,
no game I don't like having my whole screen covered while being attacked by a horde of enemies
), the way the game makes you feel it gives you a lot and giving you nothing at the same time. I could only recommend it if you are aware that you will need to read a lot, a very big lot of text because if you don't like reading and don't get caught by the story, you will not like it
1) If you're a fan of Outer Wilds, I would recommend giving this a try 2) Despite my recommendation and what I said in #1, this game is a hard "maybe". It does plenty right but there are some major wrongs that kind of hurt the entire experience. 3) spoiler free + I personally love the visuals + Overall great puzzles with some excellent "AH-HA!" moments + Solid characters + It's fun to play as the dog + Game doesn't hold your hand + Runs great + No moon-logic puzzles ++ Music is superb ++ Absolutely fantastic and intriguing story, complete with some extras to help with the overall explanation/details in the form of ciphers. Can't say anymore. You'll know it when you get there +/- Combat system works. Nothing great. Nothing bad. It just works for the type of game. Not a pro or a con. +/- Voice acting is hit and miss. Overall it's not great, but one specific endgame character's voice work I personally think is top notch. Dude can MONOLOGUE. Regardless of this, it didn't downplay my experience of the game. But I feel I have to note it. Not good, not always bad. Doesn't detract from the game itself. - Regardless of the difficulty you pick, have a notepad handy or take Screenshots often. Some things don't track despite the game saying they do and you'll need either photographic memory to deal with it, or a nice little screenshot/notepad and you better write it down quickly. - Some pretty large leaps in puzzle solving sour the overall fantastic experience towards the endgame. This is a game meant to have those "ah-ha" moments and it has plenty of them. Despite this, the endgame requires...something that I cannot get into and I personally think it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stupid design choice seeing as it wasn't included anywhere else in the game and the "hint" to nudge you the right direction may as well be as useful as eating/drinking soup with a fork. My 14ish hours of gameplay? 5 of those was the endgame. I just could not figure out one big section. I cannot explain this section, or rather, sections. I opted looking it up and when I saw the answer(s), I wanted to flip my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ desk. The game was overall a blast. Just be ready to scratch your head. And once you get to the section I mentioned, I'm curious how you'll feel about it. Pretty much the only thing that drags this game down to a "maybe".
