Reviews
It's very boring, and very aimless. Just play Civilization 6 instead.
It just isn't fun. It's confusing, VERY backwards compared to other similar titles.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Jul 30 → 1.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Combat is really not for me. Coming from TWW3 where all the campaign depth revolves around giving you OP armies, this is the other way around. Military conquest is a super minimal turn-based mini game with seemingly very low skillcap, and rewards for winning are ambiguous. I know a lot of things are modular but I jumped in on default settings and raising an army was painfully slow, even though I was a swarm race of insectoids. Great art, really weak gameplay for me. Probably fun when played like a board game, especially with others. I got on very deep discount and still regret my purchase

Scratches the Civ game itch, and it is just different at the same time. Fun game so far. I've played the other "endless" games by the same dev and they're all similar. Similar stuff like currency being "dust", but they have different types of game play.
I don't say it is a bad game, just one i don't enjoy. Mostly because it doesn't feel like a true 4x game nor a global strategy game. Not completely. Imagine an Age of Wonder game or a Heroes of Might and Magic game but without a campaign in a world you most likely won't know. Add something that wants to be the event system from Civilization 4 but isn't. Too little information that hint of a Lore you won't know anytime soon what makes the events random (why am i even informed about this?) at best or meaningless at worst (Ok. Kaiju emerging from the ground, minions of a faction i never heard of although i'm supposed to know). Doesn't help that the events happen all over the map, including the parts that you haven't explored and they are usually tied to a quest with a deadline. This means that on a great map you will not be able to even reach the event location even if you send your units there. Most Slice of Life elements that you are used to are most likely not there, like notifications that you have idle units (which are automatically stationed in the city they are build in without a marker so you can easily oversee them, especially since there is no idle notification for them). Battles are similar to Heroes of Might and Magic/Age of Wonder. Armies with limited slots, but the battles themselves are fought on the world map in an arena that appears spontaneously. There is a seasonal shift system (spring [normal] summer/dust eclipse [should have an effect but actually i can't tell what], autumn [normal] and winder [probably less food but even here i can tell any difference]) where the single phases seem to be of random length. There is a plethora of small fractions (like city states in Civ 5 but they are mostly passive) from which one half could have made better as a faction and the other are monsters that are - for no real reason and mostly only to a degree - sentient monster. The graphic is blant and cubistic. probably for stylitc means but it just looks bad for a game from 2014. In sum the game lacks the functionality i want and has mostly the features i dislike. In the end nothing i enjoy.
