Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Aug 18 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

When you fill a game with a ton of "gotchu" moments, attempts to f-ck over the player and literal tests, something's seriously wrong with you. Perhaps get tested for sociopathy or something of that kind? Aside from that, the game is just terribly uninteresting. It's very clearly based off of the Roadside Picnic, but it fails to capture the appeal of it - and the post-apo parts of the Encased fail in comparison with a more famous derivative - the STALKER series. The prologue part of it was pretty appealing and I thought they may go somewhere with it - with different tasks depending on your "job" relating to the research and experiments that are going on in the "Zone" of this world, but it devolves into just another "save the world" run of the mill story filled with a bunch of cliches, cookie cutter characters and a bunch of typos in the tons of uninteresting, uninspired text the game vomits at you. For a retro styled narrative driven RPG, the narrative part sure as sh-t doesn't hold up. So how about the gameplay part? Meh. Weird level scaling with multiple level jumps between quests coupled with even 3 level difference being basically crippling make the combat a sh-tshow, a lot of the abilities are pretty much useless, the AI is all over the place - sometimes it'll roll all over you, other times it acts as if you weren't even there and just lets you shoot it to death without any response. The GUI is so bad it had to have been done on purpose to make the game "feel" more retro because everything older automatically equals gooder - the game basically forces you to use keyboard binds because playing with the mouse is terribly clunky. The RPG elements are perhaps the only saving grace with tons of things to interact with, conversations with a bunch of options, lot of them restricted by stats, etc. which is all great - but, as mentioned at the beginning, it's also often disrupted by stupid azz attempts of the writers to be "clever" and f-ck with the player. Of course, they can often be dealt with by savescumming and such, but that's still sh-t game design. Anyways, not worth it. It does hit a spot in regards to actually roleplaying, but the gameplay is tedious, the story and characters uninspired and boring.

Just finished the game last week. And to THIS DAY, I am still baffled on why TF is the ending so bad. The story building up at start was good and I was enjoying every bit of the game. I was also very intrigued on how the story goes, but that ending still hits me to this day. You can have multiple endings, save on the final room and just go through the thing again. But DAMN, after the first ending I got, and the New Vegas ending thingy, I am disappointed on how everything ended that I just stopped playing the game overall and didn't even bother to play the other endings. Also, if you got a high stealth *criminal* skill, you can skip every enemy in the final map. I know it's optional, but what a joke that option is. Building up all your characters, just to skip them. It's like they rushed that ending just to publish the game fast.
As others have posted here, it's a good enough game if you enjoy sandbox RPGs. After the first few hours of the game, a large event occurs. After that event, the game proper begins and you are pointed towards...nothing. Other than the fact that some kind of big storm has swept through the dome, there's no real motivation to do much of anything. Sure, there's a lot to explore and you could make an argument that you can unfold your own story. However, for me personally, I don't have a lot of gaming time and I appreciate being told a compelling story with fun gameplay. This game has fun-ish gameplay but hits negatively for the other two. Therefore, I decided to set it aside for now. I'll give it a thumbs-up simply because it's probably fun for some people and it seems like the developers worked hard on it.
just beat this went with the church ending u mfs are wayyyyy too critical of a crpg at the scale its going for made by 9 people in russia theres definitely sum really odd choice made and it can be pretty jank do not go into this ♥♥♥♥ expecting fallout 2 or sum ♥♥♥♥ like wasteland 3(its more like wasteland 2 with sum of its weirder gameplay choices) dont get me wrong u can see it flaws quite obviously the further you get in the great first act thats open as hell with sidequests flowing out of your ♥♥♥♥♥ kinda goes away a bit in favor of getting you along with the story, it runs like dog ass at times on a ryzen 9 and 3080 and the quest log ♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks for one of these game they over wrote everything but the journal of all things when it comes down to it i enjoyed my 52 consecutive hrs with this very much even tho it wears its inpspirations like big gold chain u couldnt miss if it smacked you in the teeth it brings alot of creativity i think alot of people are just overlooking cause they wanted fallout 2 pt 2 electric boogaloo if anything this game has unending amounts of heart and i love that i hope they do more with this world and see it to its full potential
Encased is disappointing because if this game had been given just a little bit more funding and time in the oven, it could have been excellent. I wanted to like this game so much. On the surface, it's right up my alley - a modern(ish) crpg set in a mid-apocalyptic retro sci-fi setting. The bones are everything I thought I would want in a game. Instead, the execution falls very flat in some really subtle ways. From inconsistent voice acting, to typos in the text itself, to weird hiccups in gameplay - it's all just a little bit harder or worse than it should have been. Every action seems like it take about twice as long as it should. So you're sitting there hours later wondering what you've even done with your life to have accomplished so little in so much time.
The first half shows some promise, but most of it ends up wasted on a second half of that isn't very finished. After a point, areas become huge but empty. NPCs start saying only one line of flavor text. Quests turn into globe-spanning busy work. Overall problems: Walking around takes forever. Stat progression stalls early on so levelling up doesn't mean much. The story tries to play with the vagueness of unknowable alien forces but it just ends up walling the player out of the plot.
Ok, so this is a not recommend. I bought this shortly after release, which was a bad move as it then turned out to not be properly finished, though technically there is an ending. Apparently the quality apparently plummets after the first act, and it switches from a character/story heavy game to a clunky and largely empty turn based combat game. I don't like unfinished products and stories so I was unmotivated to actually play it after I heard that. I eventually decided I may as well give it a go since I had purchased it. I was kind of enjoying it, the writing was decent and it had a little bit of fallout vibe crossed with Stalker thing going. Ok UI and and ok combat. But then I realised that looting the MANY MANY boxes gives you XP, and sometimes decent loot. That's a nope. Not only does it make no sense to earn xp from opening an unlocked box, but it is desperately boring to have to do it if there a lot of boxes. My OCD cannot let an unopened box that has value be ignored and I don't want to be bored either. I know, sound silly but that's a deal breaker for me. So, be aware that if you have this kind of issue this game is probably not a good one to get! If you like opening boxes though, go for it!
Final mission is impossible to complete because of game crash and corrupted save files.
