Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 364/day in the week to Jul 17 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Eastward is a beautifully detailed and charming adventure game, from Shanghai-based indie developers, Pixpil.
In the near-future, society is starting to collapse, and the human population is at an all-time low. A deadly toxic presence has spread across the land, destroying and devouring everything in its path.
Those who could escape the miasma flocked to underground villages to start a new life. But for a hardworking miner and a mysterious young girl, the hope of a thriving outside world beckons…
Escape the tyrannical clutches of Potcrock Isle's subterranean society and join Eastward’s unlikely duo on an exciting adventure to the land above! Discover beautiful yet bizarre settlements and make new friends as you travel across the world by rail.
Contains adult humour and some mature themes.
Discover the wonderfully weird world of Eastward. Climb aboard the cross-country railway which spans this decaying continent, stopping off to explore its bustling towns, curious campsites and shady forests.
Fend off peculiar monsters and ferocious bosses with John’s weapon of choice - be it a flamethrower, cog-shooter or your trusty ol’ frying pan. Feeling merciful? Try temporarily stunning them with Sam’s kinetic blast.
Switch between John and Sam to solve environmental puzzles and fight your way through formidable dungeons. Separate the duo to unlock hidden paths or stick together as you traverse a perilous landscape.
Get to know a quirky cast of characters with oodles of personality! Immerse yourself in a heartwarming story-driven adventure, packed with fun and wacky humour.
Create deliciously authentic Eastwardian cuisine using (mostly) fresh, organic ingredients from toxic forests, potcrab farms and abandoned malls. These delicacies will grant health bonuses, power boosts and secret boons.
Bop along to a wonderfully upbeat soundtrack composed by Joel Corelitz (Death Stranding, Hohokum, The Unfinished Swan), with sound design from Irish studio, Hyperduck Soundworks (Dust: An Elysian Tail, Kingdom Rush)

Great art and music, dungeons and bosses were fun too. But in between you have to grind through hours and hours of boring fetch quests and irrelevant dialog that has noting to do wit the story.

Masterpiece, ezpz Haven't finished it yet, will write a full review when I do but what I played so far more than justified any price I could've paid for this game. No it isn't just another quirky Earthbound inspired RPG, it's absolutely a beast of its own standing alongside some of the classics like Chrono Trigger. The story and the characters are amazing, especially once you get to New Dam City. The action gameplay and puzzles are fantastic and super satisfying and the difficulty is just right. The bosses are excellent too. The music and the intro animation are also out of this world. There are a few eye-rolling quips here and there but nothing to ruin your fun. Could also be the most gorgeous and impressive pixel art game I've ever played, or tied with Metal Slug and Owlboy. The game is long too, if you finished this in only 20 hours you probably breezed through it without interacting with the world too much. There's also a huge zero-greed slice of life farming sim DLC called Octopia which I can't wait to get to, and both the main game and that are ridiculously cheap for what they offer. So that's my recommendation to absolutely get this game. There's also a tiny Dragon Quest homage game called Earthborn that you play at arcade machines in the game which is also really good. ❤️
I like this game. It has a lot of personality. I will say this, however: it seems like some people out there think that the quality of a story's writing is proportional to the quantity of dialogue it contains. I found myself wearing out on the game (I still need to finish it - I will soon) not because I don't like the main characters or the story, but because they never, ever, seem to want to stop rambling.
