Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 364/day in the week to Jul 17 → 1.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Eastward is a beautifully detailed and charming adventure game, from Shanghai-based indie developers, Pixpil.
In the near-future, society is starting to collapse, and the human population is at an all-time low. A deadly toxic presence has spread across the land, destroying and devouring everything in its path.
Those who could escape the miasma flocked to underground villages to start a new life. But for a hardworking miner and a mysterious young girl, the hope of a thriving outside world beckons…
Escape the tyrannical clutches of Potcrock Isle's subterranean society and join Eastward’s unlikely duo on an exciting adventure to the land above! Discover beautiful yet bizarre settlements and make new friends as you travel across the world by rail.
Contains adult humour and some mature themes.
Discover the wonderfully weird world of Eastward. Climb aboard the cross-country railway which spans this decaying continent, stopping off to explore its bustling towns, curious campsites and shady forests.
Fend off peculiar monsters and ferocious bosses with John’s weapon of choice - be it a flamethrower, cog-shooter or your trusty ol’ frying pan. Feeling merciful? Try temporarily stunning them with Sam’s kinetic blast.
Switch between John and Sam to solve environmental puzzles and fight your way through formidable dungeons. Separate the duo to unlock hidden paths or stick together as you traverse a perilous landscape.
Get to know a quirky cast of characters with oodles of personality! Immerse yourself in a heartwarming story-driven adventure, packed with fun and wacky humour.
Create deliciously authentic Eastwardian cuisine using (mostly) fresh, organic ingredients from toxic forests, potcrab farms and abandoned malls. These delicacies will grant health bonuses, power boosts and secret boons.
Bop along to a wonderfully upbeat soundtrack composed by Joel Corelitz (Death Stranding, Hohokum, The Unfinished Swan), with sound design from Irish studio, Hyperduck Soundworks (Dust: An Elysian Tail, Kingdom Rush)

Klare Empfehlung.
Overall Rating: 3/5 A beautiful pixel game with a fantastic story. Character and environment design are superb, everything moves and breathes really bringing to life the world. The story is rich and has nuance and depth with implied outcomes and interesting allegories. The depth for each character is decent with multiple dialog options depending on the state of the game and what chapter you're in. Rating Breakdown: - Graphics: 5/5 - Story: 4/5 - Puzzles: 1/5 - Fights: 3/5 - Gameplay: 3/5 Story: The story could be a bit slow at times and interrupt session of "flow" which for me felt like I wanted to just continue but instead was forced to watch or speed through some cut scenes. Some of the cut scenes could also be a bit slow in general in term of animation speed which compounded and highlighted the above problem. Puzzles: The worst part for me were the puzzle sections. Most were very easy and at times tedious, although occasionally they would rise to moderate difficulty only to fall back to easy timing puzzles. I wanted to see sections of puzzles that went in depth with the different upgrades and tools but that never really happened. It felt like an afterthought to add depth to the world and not a core mechanic. Honestly I'm confused why the game has puzzles at all. Fights: The fights are not very well telegraphed and has a bit of a messy feel to them. This was "fixed" by offering a myriad of consumables which doesn't really fix the underlying issue. I wish the fights were a little more skill based with more movement freedom. Another huge problem is that for most of the fights you are dragging an extra person behind you that can also take damage. This make you feel more like a caterpillar trying to move out of the way and not exactly sure of where your hitbox is or even being in good control of it. This caterpillar issue caries over into normal gameplay as well. Gameplay: I noticed a few issues while fighting enemies, with terrain, and animations during normal gameplay. Most of the time I felt as though I was playing the game to watch the next cut scene and not to actually play the game. I had to take multi-day breaks and then come back so I can finish the story. I want more polish and thought about the player experience. A few very honest play testers could have prevented 90% of these issues.
I recoomend if you want a straightforward story game! The only downside is if you miss the opportunities, yuou cannot go back to 100% unless you restart the game or have strategically saved the game. EDIT: okay so you actually CAN go back and select a chapter LOL... have fun 100%ing!!!
