EARTH DEFENSE FORCE: WORLD BROTHERS 2

This is EDF 6 if you lego movied it. The good and bad of that are on display here. If you don't know what EDF is, its a game where you have a few different classes with varied gameplay that is arcadey and you fight giant hordes of enemies and just kinda embrace the chaos. Its very arcadey and feels a bit like a twitchy arcade game with campy dialogue. The legoification of this game means, the combat is greatly simplified and the progression and mechanics are simplified. Unlike World brothers 1 where this simplification was a bit too much to retain the fun and chaos of EDF, here it simplified enough for younger children but has enough nuance and complexity to remain interesting for older players. The humor is also much more in line with kids sensibilities as well. The characters talk and make quips and the campy jokes are more along the lines of making fun of characters for sleeping with stuffed animals rather than the campy movie lines and bad voice acting of the mainline EDF games. Overall, I still find it fun and its more accessible for children so I think if you have a younger child that you'd like to play EDF with, its a good candidate.

・攻撃直前までダメージ99％カットで、近づくと超高威力の攻撃をしてくる敵、 ・HPが高く、足も早く、近くにいるだけで毒でHPがどんどん減る敵 ・とんでもない硬さと強さなのにアイテム1個しか落とさない敵 など、EDF6に居たような飲み会のノリで決めたような頭のおかしい敵は存在せずどの敵も常識的な範囲内での強さで、ミッション時間も長くても10分掛からない位でサクッと終わり、 前作のファラオのようなあまりにも強く編成から抜けないようなキャラは存在せずバランスも調整されていて面白かったです ストーリーは最初はEDFシリーズをやっていないと分からないようなパロディなど多めですが、中盤からはちゃんと地球防衛軍していたのも良かったです。 不満点ですが、 ・本家と同じでHARDEST、INFERNOなどHARDより上の難易度（クリアしたら解放される）をクリアしてもその難易度以下の難易度をクリアしたことにならない事 ・前作のキャラ＋新兵科でとんでもない数のキャラがいるのに同じ性能のα、β、γの3種類がいて無駄な水増しがされていて、キャラを探したり、レベル上げをするのが苦行 ・オートエイムやエイムアシストなどを切ってもズームすると補正のようなものが掛かって微調整が困難で狙撃が厳しい（遠距離狙撃が必要な場面はないため、ズームしなくても問題はない の3点くらいです

Its probably the best blocky-game I've ever played. I wish the AI was a better though, like I wish they wouldn't hop on your vehicle with you. its surprisingly a lot more chaotic when you're swapping between 4 characters. The buildings...surprisingly take good punishment. Sometimes it'll leave holes in the buildings. I'd imagine thats what it'd feel like trying to take apart actual nano blocks too. Cons that I had... - The navigators talk too much, Yeah i know I can swap characters, you dont have to keep reminding me. - no vehicle summons. I can't call something like a NIX unless it's on a certain map. - sometimes you get stuck in mech vehicles. Pretty hard to wiggle out of. - You can't micromanage your team mates. You have 3 guys following you, but you can't leave them in 1 spot and leave. it has a recall button at least. Even though its blocky, its actually the best looking EDF Game I've seen...But only if you're flying. The explosions and junk might clutter your field of view. More complaints that I have with the game after finishing.... July 8, 2026 - I wish the story characters you got had names on them. Like if you got Slugger Sister, it isn't automatically renamed as "Jackie" or something. - The game is in fact localized, its to the point where I'm pretty sure Jackie does have different dialogue in comparison to the Japanese dub. I'm also pretty sure Fyta isn't his actual name, because I never heard Fyta mentioned once. - For a rated T game, the characters sure do swear a bit more often then I expected. - You and your allys need more stuff to say, either that, or they just talk too much durring fights. - If you rescue a character, they don't keep your gear if you already rescued that character previously.

Another great homage and a world more stable game than EDF6. Still top contender for best solo EDF game, and now its even better/varied choices than the first World Brothers! More of everything and nothing too bad until you aim for higher difficulties. Really one of the best casual EDF intros for both returning and newer players, if you can stand the Voxel style and terrible personalities within.
