The story from behind the scenes of EDF 4.1 unravels here. The EDF series is back with new feelings of despair and bug-slaying satisfaction as you fight your way through never-ending swarms of giant insects in a vertical scrolling shoot 'em up!

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 10 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I beat this game on the easiest difficulty in around 45 minutes and have no compulsion to play it ever again. I'm not really versed in bullet hell, but trying to keep track on the projectiles vs the background was very difficult sometimes. Story is even shallower than usual EDF games, weapons aren't as interesting, limited enemy and weapon variety... I just can't really recommend it unless you're an EDF super fan and there happens to be a steep discount.

ЛУЧШЕ Б НА МОЙ НОКИА ЛЮМИА ФОН ПОРТИРОВАЛИ БЫ ЭТУ ИГРУ!
I completely understand why this is mixed in recommendations. It is an okay shmup but is a bad Earth Defense Force game. I would recommend this if you want a meh shmup. When I downloaded this game I was expecting a basic shooting game like other Earth Defense Force Games and not this. I did enjoy most of the time playing this but they put one of the worse things from EDF into a shmup which shouldn't be allowed which is multiple bad weapons. Most of the weapons feel underpowered and it just makes it feel not as enjoyable. I am glad that the developer tried to go outside and try something different but should not have used EDF in it. I barely recommend this game only for shmup people only at a huge discount and not for EDF people.
The main mechanic of the game is the invulnerable "dash" that will let you eat projectiles without taking damage. It is necessary because the hit boxes in this game can be awful, meaning you will get hit if you try to merely dodge them. The unlocked weapons seemed to be mostly worse than the starter ones. Most of them seemed to be slow single-target ones that end up lowering your fire power. For some reason the first two missions seemed to not unlock stats or new weapons while the later ones were infinitely more lavish with unlocks. The game has six (6) missions and lasts for about 60 minutes. There is also the Training Mode free DLC that adds 60 mini-missions. It has three (3) difficulty levels (that mostly seem to affect the amount of damage you take) and some weapon unlocks. Then again, weapons worth changing for are in the harder difficulty settings, though if you can beat them to get the guns, there is no goal left to use those guns on afterwards. You have to claim the Training Mode DLC manually for some reason. Tl;dr - SKIP IT - it is awful. Having tried the second mission, I can see why you would not want to include it - it does not work. So you have this training mission where you are supposed to hit targets, though you are not given time to hit anything and the supposed hit-now window is about 0.2 seconds - about 0.3 seconds shorter than human reaction delay. Keep in mind this is supposed to be an easy exercise and not something super human, following a super easy Training Mission 1. Even if you know when to hit the target, you will see your sniper hits glancing off of the target while it is in the hit-now window. Some of the targets NEVER go to their hit-now phase, making the completion of that Training Mission impossible. There really is not any plot. You complete the missions and it simply ends. There are some strange lines during the credits and that is about it. As a franchise tie-in product it is quite weak. It could be some other game re-skinned with EDF. It has voice lines for English and Japanese. It is not worth it for the full price even if you like the franchise (there are no in-depth references to it), though might be if you like shmups AND it is steeply discounted.

6/10, okay shoot em up
Basically a shoot em up game based on EDF 4.1. The story takes place during the events of EDF 4.1 from a different perspective. Still has that charming 4.1 voice acting and I love it for that. As for the game its incredibly short but also quite a hard one. The game is only 6 levels long but I was punished thinking I could play through it on normal difficulty without any unlocks. Game is fun. Pretty good shmup but definitely not worth the price tag. Only pick up when its around 80 or 90% off I'd say.

Really enjoyed this run through an alternative shooter using the Wing Diver.
