Prices
The United States storefront in every case, so this compares stores and not countries.
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.57/day in the week to Jul 30 → 1.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 11: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Very good game, although I think 7 definitely takes the cake for storytelling. Will I complain about more dynasty warriors to enjoy though? Nope! :D
I wanted to relive the fantasy of being 10yrs old and playing dynasty warriors 2 on sunday morning. Just spamming buttons and murder-hoboing my way across a map for 20 minutes. Good times.
Port of the inferior ps3 version instead of the upgraded ps4 one, no cloud saves
DYNASTY WARRIORS 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition is an expansive and action-packed entry in Koei Tecmo’s long-running hack-and-slash series that continues to refine and build upon the franchise’s core formula of large-scale battlefield domination, iconic historical storytelling, and character-driven gameplay. As a definitive version of Dynasty Warriors 8, this Complete Edition bundles the base game with all the Xtreme Legends expansion content, offering an enormous amount of playable material, characters, modes, and narrative depth drawn from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms—a dramatic retelling of ancient Chinese history. At its core, DW8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition sticks to the beloved Musou gameplay loop: one warrior against thousands. Players select from a roster of over 80 unique characters, each with personalized move sets, weapons, and Musou (special) attacks, then charge into massive, chaotic battles where they single-handedly wipe out entire armies. The gameplay is intentionally over-the-top, rewarding fluid combos, stylish kills, and tactical positioning, while allowing players to fulfill heroic power fantasies. Yet beneath the spectacle lies a surprising layer of strategy: players must manage battlefield objectives, protect allies, and react dynamically to evolving mission parameters in real-time. What sets DW8 apart from its predecessors is its variety and polish. The addition of weapon affinity types (Heaven, Earth, and Man) introduces a rock-paper-scissors mechanic that encourages smart weapon switching mid-battle. The ability to equip two weapons and switch between them fluidly adds depth and flexibility to combat, allowing players to customize combos and adapt on the fly. Each character also comes with their own story-driven campaign, including legendary figures like Zhao Yun, Lu Bu, and Sima Yi, adding considerable replay value and a personalized touch to each narrative arc. The story mode in Xtreme Legends Complete Edition is one of the richest in the series, offering multiple perspectives across the Wei, Wu, Shu, Jin, and Lu Bu factions. Cutscenes are well-directed and voice-acted (with both English and Japanese options), delivering melodramatic but compelling renditions of the political intrigue, betrayals, and heroism from the Three Kingdoms era. Historical purists might find the liberties taken with events and character portrayals to be exaggerated, but for fans of stylized historical fiction, the narrative is both engaging and accessible. On top of the main story, the Xtreme Legends content adds a "Legend Mode" with custom scenarios, a revamped Ambition Mode that tasks players with building their own base through conquest, and Challenge Mode stages with time-based or score-based objectives. These additions diversify the experience and cater to different playstyles—whether you're in it for storytelling, progression systems, or pure combat spectacle. The ability to level up characters, forge and upgrade weapons, and unlock rare skills gives long-term goals and customization options for RPG-minded players. Graphically, the game holds up well, especially in its Complete Edition form on modern platforms like PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. While the character models and effects are flashy and vibrant, environments can sometimes appear flat or repetitive, especially when compared to newer open-world action games. That said, the sheer number of enemies on screen and the smooth performance, even during the most chaotic moments, are impressive and a testament to the engine's optimization. The soundtrack is as bombastic as the gameplay, featuring a fusion of traditional Chinese instruments and heavy rock to create a unique musical identity that has become a series staple. Sound effects and character call-outs during battle enhance the sense of urgency and scale, while the game's interface—though sometimes dense—is intuitive enough to keep the focus on action. Despite its many strengths, DW8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition is not without drawbacks. The core gameplay loop, while satisfying, can become repetitive for players not deeply invested in character progression or narrative variation. Enemy AI, particularly for rank-and-file soldiers, is generally passive and rarely challenging, making the real test of skill come from battlefield conditions rather than direct opposition. Additionally, the reliance on recycled map layouts and reused animations from earlier games can give the impression of stagnation to series veterans. In conclusion, DYNASTY WARRIORS 8: Xtreme Legends Complete Edition is a comprehensive and rewarding package for fans of large-scale action games and historical drama. It offers an impressive variety of content, a huge roster of distinct characters, and gameplay that walks the line between cathartic simplicity and strategic depth. While its formula won't convert everyone, for those who embrace the Musou style of gameplay, this edition represents one of the franchise’s high points and remains a definitive entry in the long-standing saga of ancient China's warring states.
