This game is gonzo, like over the top in terms scale and gameplay; moreso than Dungeons 3 (like having a level 10 hero instantly go from almost dead to full health several times when fighting them). The research tree is much more confusing, at least to me--I prefer Dungeons 3 skill tree rather than the tabs. The factions UI in D4 is not organized well (but I don't know how you'd do it better). + The graphics are great + More things to do underground + It has a map editor - The missions are way over the top, damage scaling is even worse than Dungeons 3 - Placing required game objects is quite involved and should be more intuitive Honestly, I wish the dungeons series would pick a lane. Either mostly on t he surface, which has been done to death, or mostly or totally underground. I understand Dungeons 2 and on were supposed to be spiritual successors to Dungeon Keeper at the rumored Dungeon Keeper was going to have above ground and underground map portions but I would like to keep the emphasis on the underworld and keep the tech tree simpler to understand immediately. I got all the expansions of Dungeons 2 and 3 but I probably will not for 4, I just don't like how the game flows as much. For me, it is a good game, and I would recommend picking it up on sale, but for me the best to worst of the series so far is first is Dungeons 3, second is Dungeons 2, close third is Dungeons 4 and a far distant last is Dungeons 1. I'm glad they put in the lave and water and different types of dirt to keep the underworld more involved, but I think that just highlights how the game needs to pick a lane. Since I would recommend this, but on sale, I will give it a thumbs up, but not as heartily as I would've given Dungeons 3.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

As good as Dungeons 3 was as bad was Dungeons 4. The last quarter was more a pain to finish than fun to play. They tried to implement the same humour as in Dungeons 3, but failed horribly. Mission design together with the story got worse and worse throughout the game. Played it together with a friend and we both uninstalled it as soon as we finished the story. The rest is completely uninteresting and we definitely will not buy any DLC and if there will be a Dungeons 5, we will be cautious wether it will be fun again like 3 or as bad as 4. And yes, we have like 27 hours in this game. There are missions with a timer that require to play for an hour. So with 20 missions that adds up but doesnt paint a picture of "we loved it so much that we invested so much time, rather it just took so long to get it over with in the end", sadly.
Alot of fun, i am playing it with my girlfriend and it's just as awesome as part 3 :D
Should be amazing but has asinine mechanics that just make me want to uninstall it forever. Middle mouse doesn't rotate camera like it does in every single game like this ever made, and you can't rebind it from Pg Up and Pg Down. There are dozens of commands that you cannot rebind to other keys. TRASH. ABSOLUTE TRASH. Characters are stupid and will just attack the nearest things, but once those things are destroyed they do nothing. So if you're trying to clear out a bunch of enemy rooms, you need to constantly reselect your entire group, and re-place them next to another nearby thing. Everything is slow as hell. Slapping minions is unrewarding and you can barely tell you even did anything. Traps absolutely suck, they are so weak and nearly pointless. Amazingly, I think the humor in this game is pretty good but the actual gameplay is cumbersome and frustrating. Even similar, albeit mostly trash games like Nahalbek's Dungeon Master or whatever it's called, don't feel nearly as frustrating to play. Oh and your Calypso launcher is the most godawful, ugly, low-rent piece of garbage I have ever seen in the past 30 years. It looks like a screen out of Windows 3.1 if I was trying to format a school newsletter or something. Get that nonsense out of here, it makes your games look so low-rent it's insane.
Sehr selbstkritischer Humor, wesentlich besser als der 3 Teil was Quality of Life angeht
For a strategy category, this game is kind of stupid. The only reason I did not refund was the charm looking of succubus
i tried this game for 1 hour. it has visually attractive characters and a unique environment. but i found the gameplay to be boring, i think they could of made this a more full featured game,
Play Dungeon Keeper 1 & 2 or War For the Overworld instead. This game is just a poor copy of those games and tries to make up it's shortcommings with comedic writing about as funny you averige reditor. Marvel references included.
