Clever and tightly designed puzzle platformer, also very cute and gay
"Puzzle Platformer" isn't typically a genre that comes up when you think about narrative and gameplay being "in sync". Jumping around and pushing blocks just isn't normally a good vector for communicating a story! This game, however, tells its story as much through the dialogue as it does through the platforming. How? Dungeon Gals makes solving puzzles feel like teamwork. Wendy, Izzy, and Rosa aren't just ability sets to swap to, they're distinct characters whose strengths and weaknesses reflect who they are. They help each other get through the dungeon in the same way they help each other get through life. None of them can do it alone, but together they're unstoppable. Devious, "ah HA!"-worthy puzzles, a heartwarming feeling of companionship, and a deft harmony between story and mechanics make this a must-play, especially if you've ever thought character swapping should come with a little kiss.

Really really beautiful game. Full of heart, incredibly well put together. Story wise, it's main focus is emotional connection, it wants you to feel for the characters involved, and I love that. Gameplay, it's an absolutely lovingly put together collection of puzzles that keep you immersed in the world and constantly needing to think through things, without ever being unapproachably hard. The bosses are all pretty interesting, trying to figure out how to use your three characters, and I loved all the little animations that gave each of the gals a real personality. Worth your time, seriously
A super solid puzzle platformer with charming characters, great FM Synth music, and a Horrible Worm Man
A very entertaining platform with an extremely cute story. I enjoyed reading and interacting with every piece of the game I came across! I definitely recommend giving it a play - it'll make you smile as you learn more about the characters and the world.
there sure were gals in those dungeons ^u^ ok but seriously tho, genuinely adored this game so much, so much heart put into it, such beautifully done visuals for each enemy and dungeon, really fun puzzles (even being not really good at solving puzzles myself, didnt really have but 1 puzzle get me stuck in the whole game), a total banger OST, and specially really endearing characters all the way through, especially our main gals, adored getting to know them and how they came to be together, and the extra reward for finishing with lots of coins (wont spoil) got me crying from how sweet that was ^u^ ^u^ my literal only issue would be perhaps the last puzzle in the first dungeon from the Library. its really hard to tell which sphere is meant to be first, second and third, that got me stuck for a long while, just wish that was indicated better. might be a me-issue tho. that aside this game is absolute top tier, adored it so so much. Izzy was my absolute favorite gal and she deserves hugs ^u^
I find that when a game contains heavy "woke" themes, it often feels highly performative and it's often in expense of the gameplay for the sake of pushing a narrative. This game however, didn't have such problems. It didn't feel performative and felt more like a passion project with a real story to tell. I like the characters, I found them charming. I enjoyed the story. And the gameplay was great. Puzzles were fun, not too hard, not too easy either. The character swapping mechanic reminded me a little of The Lost Vikings which I adored as a child. I 100% the game in 10.5 hours and didn't encounter any noticible bugs, and only encountered 1 very replicable crash, but it's since been fixed. I'd say overall I enjoyed the game alot and Wendy was my favourite character of the three, she's a cutiepie.
It's just so good!! Interesting and adorable characters, fantastic puzzle platforming gameplay, and smooching! So much smooching!
A fun and short adventure with LOTS of personality.
I did NOT expect Dungeon Gals to to his hard. I expected it to be fun and well-designed, sure, but I was incredibly invested in that climax - the girls are just really endearing and their character were built subtly but perfectly over the whole game. It's a great puzzle-platformer made by someone who loves Wario Land, La-Mulana and the GBA! You should buy it now!!!
