About

Drop Duchy takes on the iconic geometric puzzle gameplay we all know and love with a fresh perspective: instead of simply clearing lines, you'll be thoughtfully building a realm using pieces of various shapes and types to overcome enemy challenges.
A mix of deckbuilding, puzzle and rogue-lite, the game offers a new gameplay designed to hone your appetite as a block-stacking tactician. Optimization is key to collecting precious resources, protecting your castle, and building your army.
Defeat is not the end, though: use the experience gained in previous runs to unlock even more content!

In each round of your run, Drop Duchy offers you a fresh and unique landscape to work with. Place tile pieces as you would in a typical block-dropping game but with a strategic twist: you need to align them to maximize their activation rules, producing maximum resources and units.
Selecting the optimal structures to place next to blocks of lush forests, wild rivers or grassy plains is crucial for maximizing your materials use and nurturing a bustling realm.
Forming lines grants bonuses, yet the ultimate goal is to pack up the most resources gradually. These resources will be crucial to build up your army bit by bit, ensuring your kingdom is well-protected against the enemy threats.

Select your path, gather your troops to outnumber your enemies, and reclaim the regions under their control. But be careful: letting your castle take too much damage can lead to defeat.
Successful battles lead your forces down branching, decision-filled paths in a march to storm the enemy fortress.
If your army falls before capturing the bastion, you can quickly jump back in and try a new strategy, thanks to a cleverly designed gameplay loop.
Adapt, conquer, and keep the action moving!

Grow in power with a rich deckbuilding system: build and enhance constructions with over 110 unique cards, each offering powerful upgrades and modifiers. Unlock new possibilities when using building or technology cards, each granting new bonus structures to boost soldier recruitment & various other perks. Customize your deck to suit your strategy and optimize your realm’s growth.
As you progress on your run, trade with markets or guilds to acquire valuable resources, use them wisely to upgrade your deck, make strategic decisions, and choose your path for the next round.

Drop Duchy features a robust meta progression system with over 100 unique misssions! Climb the ranks and unlock various bonuses such as increased resources, new cards or additional health.
These missions are intertwined with the three playable factions: The Duchy, The Republic, and The Order, each offering exclusive faction quests that grant faction-specific rewards. Completing these objectives across your runs not only tailors your strategy but also improves your chances of success, ensuring that every playthrough contributes to your long-term progression and victory.

Picked this up from Humble Bundle and was surprised by how Tetris paired decently well with deckbuilding and roguelike mechanics. Doesn't take too long to 100% (some of my total playtime was spent idle), but some of the final achievements felt a little grindy just for the sake of being grindy. The expanding unlock tree opened up really quick but I still felt disincentivised from branching out from strategies that already work compared to new and harder to build into strategies. Overall this game is decent. If it looks fun, maybe pick it up when it's on sale. 7/10

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Really enjoyable take on Tetris. Very re-playable and if you enjoy tile city builders you'll love this
A clever game that combines tetris with roguelike deckbuilding elements. Your deck is comprised of buildings, either economic or military, and technlogies, which are passive buffs. Each tetris piece can be one of three terrain tiles, and many strategies revolve around placing the terrain in a certain manner that's beneficial to you. So you can't just play it like normal tetris: there's a risk-reward tension between building neat rows and aligning the terrains optimally. Sometimes you have to mess up your rows for the sake of terrain, other times you sacrifice terrain synergy to keep your rows neat. And you also have to place your own buildings AND enemy buildings as well, another layer of strategy! It's fairly well executed with good production value. The biggest issue I had is that the factions each heavily encourage a particular game mechanic so you kind of already know how you're going to build your deck from the beginning. For roguelikes this isn't a good thing, you should be forced to create solutions on the fly. Another issue is that the emphasis on building neat rows diminishes as you get stronger; for boss battles it often barely matters to get complete rows. The meta-progression is a bit tedious. It introduces new terrains, buildings, and mechanics that may induce inflation to the card draft pool. You can 'banish' buildings and technologies you don't want to appear but it's a pain to do, especially when you're switching between factions. I would have preferred a game where the card draft pool is balanced on aggregate and you don't feel like you're mostly being offered cards that don't help you. Oh and regarding the tetris mechanics: you can choose the speed at which the pieces drop or make them drop at your command only. I personally chose to play without drop speed so that I could place the pieces exactly as I liked. On higher difficulties this is probably a necessity. I think there's too many strategic elements to take into consideration to play it like traditional tetris with gravity. Overall the game is worth playing and will keep you occupied as you figure out how to build your deck optimally. But I would have liked to see a greater diversity of viable deck builds in order to improve replay value.
Very fun innovative game with a well executed idea
A very nice take on known Tetris mechanics. The game does contain a tutorial that I completely ignored, but it still quite clear about what I should do to win, which I consider to be good design. All factions feel distinct with their own theme and mechanics - I enjoyed playing with all of them, to the point where I have yet to pick a favorite.
An excellent spin on tetris. I enjoyed finding the right combos to beat the trials and I'll come back at some point when the DLC goes on sale.
cool concept, lots of good ideas. I just feel that the hundreds of unlockable cards make it too overwhelming
The best way i can explain is it's very tetris like but with a fresh twist to it and a bit more strategy
