Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

First of, the game is not bad and I wish, I had played other DQ games before this one. For me this game is build around the nostalgia of it's predecessors. A nostalgia I just didn't get or feel. The twist in the beginning
the hero being a harbringer of the arrival of the Dark One, because if one appears the other one follows
was nice, but not enough to carry the predictable rest of the game. Especially the midgame was just making me angry, it feels... clunky. Everything needs a long jingle, a funny little dance, a 5 second unskippable cutscene, just plain annoying. Music was okay but by no stretch great. A lot, and I mean A LOT of repetition for some heavy orchestra fanfare discord. It got grating very fast. Voice acting (EN) was honestly one of the better things most of the time. Also, a specific decision in the story disappointed me to no end. If you don't have the balls to live with your chosen narrative and it's consequences, don't write a story like that. No stakes, no emotional payoff, as I said, disappointing. One other thing: exploring also does NOT pay off. You will get everywhere you need to be at the specified time. You cannot progess or do things where you are "not supposed" to be. That contributed to it being a slog. If you played and liked other DQ titels this one should scratch that itch for you. Or if you want to play a "classic" JRPG. If you are on the fence if you should play this one, look at some gameplay first and decide then.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 24: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 3.44/day in the week to Aug 4 → 5/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Early intro video contains lots of spoilers, everything from recruitable characters to interactions with enemies essentially revealing they'll at least be around until that scene, ruined any interest in the game for me. What little I played of the game felt decent until then, might be OK if you know in advance to skip that video, but I've no idea why the hell they would include that
Utter ass. The game basically plays itself until you get to a boss fight, which will inevitably one shot you. So then you go back and spend 20 minutes auto farming all the pathetic enemies you ran past just so you can stat check the boss. It is just not a well designed game. I don't care if it's a formula that this franchise has been doing for 30 years, it's poop. The music is insanely annoying and it's unacceptable that this 100 hour game only has like 4 tracks that just endlessly loop and drive you insane the whole time. The story and characters are the definition of cliche. You have a silent protagonist who is the chosen one and has to defeat the dark one or whatever. Theres some decent twists I'll admit, but besides those few moments, you are just watching the baby's first jrpg story. I didn't even meet all the party members, but all the ones I did meet were so boring. Serena, Veronica and Erik only join your party because of some vague prophecy, and Sylvando joins because... he likes adventure I think. I cannot stand silent jrpg protagonists. I don't feel like I can imprint myself onto them, I feel like I'm watching a strange alien spend their first day on earth trying to act like a person. The combat is weak as well. The pep power system is probably the most wimpy feeling system i've played in any turn based rpg. It's complete RNG tha decides when it activates, so it's impossible to use strategically. And early game I don't actually have enough unique pep abilities to do anything with it once it randomly decides to activate. I just look at my guys turn blue and get a slight stat boost, exciting. If you like this game, please realize you are a blind slave to nostalgia and you should be banned from leaving any steam reviews. Don't try to tell me "the game gets better after the 50 hour mark," that's too damn late. I only tried this series because Hero is hype in smash bros, and I love Yakuza Like A Dragon. But both of those things are unfortunately 1000x better than the series they were inspired by. Why is this game so loved? Do I live in the same universe as the people who praise this vile creation? I wish I never touched this game. Curse this game. Curse this game to damnation.
