We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 3: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 4 → 1.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation is one of the most foundational games in the RPG genre, and new coat of paint aside, it's still a fun time all these years later. This is an RPG that's less concerned about intricate narratives and characterization and more concerned about simply offering a straightforward RPG adventure, with fun combat to engage with, an expansive world to explore, and bucketloads of whimsy and charm. True, it may be overshadowed somewhat by its sequels, but it's still quality game, especially if you're looking for something more meat-and-potatoes.
ver1.2で裏ボスまで撃破。
It's a JRPG that nails the basics of the genre very well.
6/10
I played this back in the day when it was Dragon Warrior III with Wyvern Wings and the Jailer's Key. I got to Tantegel once and my save game corrupted, so I gave up; unable to trust the cartridge with another 30ish hour investment. This is a much better experience on every level. There's an eerie familiarity to a lot of the maps that translated into the new visual style. The visuals are appealing. The music is excellent. I recommend it for the nostalgia. For new players interested in the history of RPGs, definitely. For players looking to get into RPGs, probably not; a lot of elements show of this being a digital antique recreated in a newer medium. For the same price, there are Final Fantasy games and nearly all of them have better stories, and often more interesting combat. Or later Dragon Quest games. If the ratio of dollar to play hour is important to you, I probably can't recommend this. It's fun for a one and done, which is about 40 hours, which is 1.5$ per hour. There's no real replayability, in my humble opinion. There's some oddness with the UI when it comes to Skip vs Fast Forward, and when you can or can't forward dialogue. The UI doesn't provide as much info as I would like on the standard character card - current HP of MAX in numeric format, for instance, or which spells or abilities currently impact the party (Or I didn't locate this when I looked). The narrative is, frankly, iffy. We're looking for dad! Great, Fallout 3 style. And to do that we're looking for keys. And then we start looking for orbs for no particular reason other than that's what's available to do on the map even though we're never really told to do this if you didn't talk to the right people, and don't know what will happen if we find them. A lot of this is left over from when this was a Nintendo game and it's excusable, but the seams definitely show to modern audiences. Which leaves the Battle system. How this works is at the start of each turn you queue each character's actions for that turn - fight, spell, item, etc. Then the actions play out (sort of) in order of agility between the player characters and monsters. However, when you use the game's onboard "AI", then it's capable of breaking that rule. For instance, you can have Monster A kill your Hero on action 1 of round 1 and on action 2 of round 1 your priest might try to resurrect the Hero. There's no way the Priest could have known at the start of the round the Hero would die in order to queue that spell; the AI just responded to the circumstance mid-round which is something the player is not allowed to do. Normally, you would need to wait for the Priest's action on Round 2 to try to resurrect, but the AI will do otherwise. This suggests there's more happening under the hood than I'm noticing. All this to say, this means that the most strategically savvy route to take is to always use the PC to manage combat. Even for the Hero. And it's not close; being able to resurrect mid-round where the death occurred, this alone is a huge advantage over player inputs. The AI will always make the best choice even based on elements not known or available to you. It will adjust actions mid-round, which you're not even allowed to do. So you either need to decide you'll allow this inefficiency and make your own battle decisions, or you've effectively spent 60$ for a video game where you wiggle a joystick so the game can play itself. If you have a Dragon Warrior III vendetta from childhood, I strongly recommend. For everyone else, there are better uses of money, but this isn't a bad one.
