About
You awaken from a cold sleep and suddenly find yourself in the year 2206. What you once knew as the International Space Station is now the International Space Port - a gateway for aliens coming to Earth. Crushed by a massive, unexplained debt, you’re forced into a job you never asked for: Chief Extraterrestrial Counselor.
Seems simple enough, figure out your allies and uncover hostile threats. However, make the wrong call and Earth could be destroyed. No pressure though, right?
Problems left unresolved in the 21st century have spiraled out of humanity's control. Earth now seeks help from technologically advanced aliens to solve our crises. On the very day you awaken, diplomatic relations with other planets officially begin.
Aliens enter under many pretenses: tourism, studies, and more. But their claims are not always what they seem. As an Chief Extraterrestrial Counselor, you must see through any deception and uncover their true intentions.
Your work begins by checking the news. Then, you must interview the aliens and decide whether to grant or deny them entry. Fulfill your duties, repay your debt, and aim to one day set foot on Earth again yourself.
Whether Earth still exists by then... depends entirely on you.
◆ System Features

Chemistry Matters: Lovers, strangers, rival species... An applicant's answers may change depending on who is next to them.
A Story Shaped by Your Decisions: The future of Earth may change depending on the outcome of your interviews.
◆ DOLPHIN

◆ Martian

Yes Martians actually exist. They lack any sense of social cues and are incapable of lying. Unfortunately, their brutal honesty often ends up hurting the feelings of other aliens...
◆ Pictor

Possessing technology far beyond Earth’s capabilities, Pictor are seen as potential saviors to the planet and its enduring challenges. Their knowledge is rumored to eclipse all others in the universe. When disaster strikes, placing your bet on them is rarely a mistake.
◆ Octo

An octopus-like alien with a distinctive manner of speech, Octo are highly intelligent and honest. Though they share a genetic connection with the Takoo, another cephalopod species from their home planet, the two are locked in a hostile relationship. Curiously, the Octo claim no knowledge of why they are being targeted.
◆ Other Aliens

You’ll meet an array of enigmatic aliens who defy human understanding and common sense.
They come to Earth for various reasons: tourism, migration, asylum, destruction... or perhaps even in search of comrades!?

This object is unable to be identified by Earth's technology.

Reviews
Lots to love here. This is a game that explores its subject matter thoroughly, with care, sensitivity and humor. I never saw it doing anything new but if you want to play a game about immigration, it's up there. Lots of cute, hot and cool alien designs. A lot of them are human scale Star Wars-ish guys, but there's also a lot of cosmic horrors that can instantly end the world if not for your permit rejection and/or vent button. One complaint I have is that it was kind of unintuitive to unlock the true route. The mechanical keystone of the entire story is the fact that you can put two aliens together in the same room to see what happens, which means combinatorics rears its ugly head. I know why they did it, it's a narratively rich idea, but some frustration is inherent. Some reviews have stated there are no moral dilemmas: this is false, as it does attempt some "heart vs brain" choices, which DOLPHIN will signpost loudly. Example:
the wanted killer
. The issue is that outside of the main plot, the stability and relations mechanics always suggest one correct option, although you'll be given an interesting news article for picking the wrong one. Similar games often use delayed feedback or ironman save systems. Anwyay pretty good

Have you ever wished for someone to sell you a lemon by dangling choice in front of you, before pulling the rug from under you by telling you "wrong" whenever you are not picking their very narrow path of what they think you should have taken and ending your run in this visual novel masquarading as a game? No, that being still to entertaining? Well how about a visual novel that forces you into certain picks by ending your playtrough soon if you don`t, and then still laughing in your face for having sold out earth to the obviously evil aliens that you were forced into by the game design itself? Sprinkle some of worst, laughably blatant writing on it, and you get this "game." Here, someone`s idea of subteley was to give too little to no information to work with, and then have the hostile intentions of characters be blurted out or just told by another character. I could forgive this if you could have interacted with the world a bit. If the visual novel in question was even a little bit interesting. If there were characters, or anything at all to be invested in. Maybe just a skip button for dialogue that lets you get past the same trash the 6-th time? This game commits one of the worst sins in game design, by telling you that save scumming is part of how it works and then forces you to use it repeatedly if you want to get to any ending that does not suck. I guess they just realized there was not enough content here to call it a game without forcing you to replay it. Until then, you get endings that are just gut punches that you can see coming miles away actually, but the narrative treats it like you have been surprised. Perfect game for masochists who seek a few hours of frustration.
A rather interesting expansion on Papers Please, except with aliens! You interview aliens to see what they want to come to Earth for, and to make sure they have only good intentions so as not to make the world worse, or destroy it! You do so by asking them various questions like the purpose of their visit, are they affliated with anyone, where they're from, diet, etc. Or scan them to see their belongings and special species. But what makes it much more interesting is that you can interview *two* aliens at once, and can mix-and-match any species of alien (and some are very different, from garden-eels in a mech suit to floating rock people to intergalactic three-eyed salesmen and more) together, or keep them alone (like to ask certain questions to a shy alien). Some aliens with be working together for a bad plot you need to uncover, others will help you out by making another unintentionally reveal their plot, some are foolish enough to reveal it to you with little prodding, and some have dialogue options you can only specific interactions you have to puzzle out who needs to talk with whom or with what other dialogue! Through this, if an alien is outright hostile, you can vent them out to space to prevent harm to you or other aliens - as killing the bad but not hostile ones is bad protocol. The interviews run on a timer, though it only moves when you do an action like asking a new question or moving places for the aliens, etc. Either when your time is up, or when you decide you have enough info to make a decision, you can approve or deny visitation for the aliens. (Though some hiddenly hostile aliens won't "accept" a simple no and may require venting even if they don't outright attack you) The game takes place over several days of interviews, and after each day, you relax in a nice diner, possibly chat with one of the aliens you approve, and by the next day, get some news telling effectively how well you did as news articles. This is useful in helping the player understand which aliens they may have messed up on or suceeded, and the Global Collapse Alarm is the games version of the Doomsday Clock, and how close/far the player is from societal collapse due to Earth's long-standing issues 200 years in the future you didn't help progress with through alien assistance, or alien issues you failed to prevent. The game has multiple endings, many of which are bad endings to further help a player see which isn't the right decisions to make. All in all, I rather liked the game! The aliens have a good variety in looks and personalities, and the daily situations you forsee change with each group of aliens you must interview, and really cannot all be seen in one playthrough of the game. I'd give it a hearty recommendation to anyone who wants to see some cool aliens and act a bit of an MiB interviewer with their cool android buddy to help give a second opinion. I played this on my Steam Deck and used the touch pad as the mouse cursor and pressed A to advance dialogue. The game worked quite fine for me!
Pros: Life and Death as Alien Immigration Interviewer Lots of aliens and dialogue Unlockable content in the diner Many Endings Good Art Writing Music Sound Cons Hard to Finish Gets Somewhat Tedious after 3 hours Hard to Save the Earth Don't feel like finishing it i say buy it on sale. 8/10 - too many similar cases and too hard to finish. Still Loved it absolutely.
