I bought this because everyone said it was a fun co-op survival game. Five hours later I'm starving, freezing, insane, and learning that a winter hat somehow requires more resources than building a house. Fine. I'll join a public server instead. There are 200 servers, 180 of them are in Chinese, half have 60 mods installed, everyone is on day 4000, and they're speaking in abbreviations I've never seen before while I'm still trying to figure out why my berries keep rotting. Winter arrives. Our campfire is barely alive. One friend is hallucinating shadow creatures, another is freezing to death, our food is gone, and then Deerclops decides it's his turn. The fire goes out. Everyone dies in the dumbest way imaginable. We spend the next hour trying to recover our backpacks only to die again. People will tell you the game gets easier. It doesn't. It just changes from "How do I survive tonight?" to "How do I spend the next 600 days collecting twigs, grass, manure, and berries again?" Every boss is solved by watching the same 25-minute YouTube guide with a thumbnail full of red arrows and circles, every public lobby somehow has one guy telling everyone they're playing wrong, and somehow the community has turned "survived 10,000 days" into a personality trait. If you're thinking about buying this game, don't. Save yourself while you still can. Or don't. We'll see you starving around the campfire in a few days anyway.
refunded it because i wasn't into these genres, not because it was bad
Honestly, I do not like this game because you do not have 1 minute in this game where you can chill. Chilling and careless exploration equals death in this game. I give it a positive review because, even tho this is not a game I enjoy, the game it self is well made and interesting for people who love those type of games.
Don’t Starve Together is technically built for co-op, but somehow I still lost hours playing it by myself. There is something weirdly addictive about being dropped into the wilderness with nothing, then slowly running around collecting resources, crafting tools, building a base, and trying not to die because you made one terrible decision at sunset. The art style is such a big part of the charm. It is creepy, cute, strange, and a little storybook-nightmare in the best way. Everything feels slightly hostile, even when it looks adorable. You are not just surviving nature. You are surviving nature if nature had a sketchy little grin and absolutely wanted you humbled. I liked the loop of gathering, building, exploring, and slowly figuring things out. Even solo, it was easy to sink into. One minute I was just collecting sticks and grass, and the next minute I had a whole little setup going and was suddenly emotionally attached to not losing it. It can be punishing, and the game absolutely does not care if you are having a peaceful time. Hunger, darkness, monsters, weather, sanity, bad planning, all of it can ruin your life very quickly. But that is also what makes it fun. Don’t Starve Together is charming, stressful, weird, and surprisingly easy to lose hours in, even without anyone else there to help cause problems. Sometimes the best co-op game is still just me, alone in the woods, building stuff and pretending I know what I am doing.
A try-to-survive-the-night, barely-make-it-through, die-by-morning, rinse-and-repeat survival simulator. Played with a bunch of friends, and the number of times we died and had to restart the run is beyond what words can describe. The learning curve, inventory management, and multitasking required are extremely steep, but this never ruins the experience. You’re constantly juggling hunger, sanity, and health while trying to figure out how to survive just one more night. One moment you’re confidently setting up a campfire, and the next you’re being chased by something you absolutely were not prepared for. Visually, its iconic Tim Burton-inspired art style stands out immediately, while the sound design masterfully makes the world feel both hauntingly eerie and strangely alive at the same time.
Ive struggled with insomnia for years, then i found dont sleep together now i sleep like a baby within 5 mins of launching the game 10/10 better than melatonin
I grinded my solo world for hours, but once when I had to rollback, instead of clicking "rollback world" button, I miss-clicked the option below "regenerate world", and a few seconds later my entire world with 350 days was completely deleted, the game doesn't offer any backups, i couldnt get it back, even tho I tried everything (recova etc), the best part is that there is no warning after pressing the "regenerate world" button. Its one of the coolest survival games I've ever played and today it ruined my entire day that it was supposed to improve.
Just lost a 43 day world because i forgot to pause the game when i went to eat. I hate this game so much and can't wait to start another run.
Actually it's one of the best game you can play with your friends and have fun ; it has lots of challenges that makes the game never boring ; I strongly recommend you to buy this game specially when it gives you a second version so you can play it with your friends.
