Prices

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Jul 23 → 1.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I'm not sure how to describe this, but I've had a blast and very glad I bought it. The level of customizable automation is probably the thing I've never seen done this well elsewhere. But I was more here for the exploring, finding weird stuff, building colonies, building my economy, and then taking my fleets around to kill stuff. I found some of the interface tough - once my empire got huge and if I got into wars it really bogged down because I had to micro manage my fleets and there was just so many targets to pursue. I probably just needed to watch more youtube videos on it but didn't feel like it Definite buy again for me though!
My favorite games to play are 4X. I played Spaces Empires 4/5 for the longest time, but I could never find a modern replacement that I liked. That is until I found Distant Worlds 2. For me, it has the right amount of complexity and automation.

I really want to like it, but the gameplay feels just too restricted compared to the first Distant world.
Love 4x games, sadly this one didn't do it for me. It didn't age well.
It's an excellent 4x game. A must for all who want to play out a truly grand space opera.
game is slow to play very robotic no natural feel to it and the demands on pc are not sustainable
Definitely one of the best space strategy games I've ever played. It has a steep learning curve, but the scale and immersion are hard to beat!
Better than the first game but still horrible
A great alternative / compliment to Stellaris. The developers are really tuning the game. The combination of automation and desired manual control is a great way to handle the scale of these kind of games. The design system is a real detailed system and give you lots of options to play around. The game is not turn based so identical to Stellaris. But sense of scale and details are a few levels above Stellaris. If you liked Stellaris and have hundreds of hours in that game and want something to really go deeper on ship design you have to give this game a try.
