Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.43/day in the week to Jul 23 → 1.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

If I had to choose one game to be marooned on a desert isle, this would be the one.
Game is a great amount of fun. The options to let the AI take completely over vs you micromanaging everything is what sets it apart from all other games. You can truly tune the game to exactly how much you want to engage with it.

This is a vote for the middle. Just spent 5 hours today (Saturday). First hour was trying to learn the interface. After the fifth hour, game crashed to desktop killing the immersion that had sucked me in. Hard to get excited going back to the last autosave... For a Space 4x, this one seems well fleshed out with continuous different alien lore in the time I have played. Checking the developers updates, theyre doing a lot of free updates without putting it behind a paywall. That in itself is commendable. Edit. Crashes to desktop can be from several hours. And tonight I had a crash within 15 minutes of playing.
I have played DW for lots and lots of hours- liked the immersive gameplay and "private economy"stuff.... DW seems nice (though quite a bit the same - but the game is simply not finished. It keeps crashing and unexpected moments - very irritating as you never remember all the stuff you did in between. At this moment its simply a NO
A very good, complex strategy game - for all your empire-building needs. With an optional story mode which will have you explore the mystery of the great cataclysm which shattered the old galaxy.
I bounced off this game initially when it first came out 3 years ago. It had its fair share of bugs and issues on release so I decided to put the game down and wait for updates. I'm happy to say that after years of great post-launch support from the devs that its now in an excellent state and I can wholeheartedly recommend it. The emergent gameplay makes every playthrough feel different and it brings the galaxy to life by simulating every ship, trade route, and resource, creating a dynamic, living world. Each race not only looks different with their varied characters and ship designs but also play differently from having special abilities and powerful racial techs down to the smallest details like reproduction rates, social behaviour and even unique weapon firing arcs on each of their ships. There's so many cool details in this game and it can feel overwhelming at first but once you understand that the powerful automation takes care of anything you want it to it changes your whole view on how to play. Want to be a fleet commander planning out daring attack strategies, a spy master taking care of sabotage, assassination, stealing techs and more or focusing entirely on exploration searching rare ruins for powerful artifacts or discovering abandoned ship graveyards in dangerous nebula storms, maybe even finding a huge planet destroyer to repair and take command of if you're lucky. You can do as much or as little as you want, the automation can even take care of it all so you can watch your empire fend for itself in the galaxy intervening when necessary. Its totally up to you. Its my favourite 4x space strategy game and nothing comes close for me in terms of the sheer epic scale of it all.
I don't know what all the negative reviews are about... This game is great, been looking for an in depth x4 game for ages, this is a simulation, you can micromanage as much or ass little as possible... This game had blown me away...
Yes there is still stuff in DW:U that is still not implemented here, and there is a lack of playable factions. But the game in itself is really solid, and getting better all the time.
I haven't played the first Distant Worlds nor Universe, yet I decided to make an investment and give Distant World 2 a chance. I personally enjoy these 4x RTS games especially in a Sci-Fi setting. So far with my current system this game runs smoothly and I haven't had graphical issues. The interface for camera, zooming in from local to galaxy map is quick. I think the management system for colonies is a double edge blade, it can be simple but you can also manage on more complex terms too. The research tree in this game is very intuitive along with the ship designer, so I hope other players create some really OP ships for their causes. The government systems are straight forward and fun to try variously. The diplomacy mechanic with other civilizations is spicy and unique. I would rate this game a solid 8 out of 10. If you desire a thrill empire building game that will make you lean in your computer gaming chair, get this game!
Brand new computer worth 2000$ at the end of 2025 game still stalls and lags on a med-large grid map late game. 10 seconds of play 20 seconds of lag. It recomends 32 gigs of ram and im hear to tell you that not enough. 90% of players don't have more than 32gigs. Combine that with half the games feels like your watching it play itself. Simple things like when a station is built the message is of the ship (usless info) and not were or at what location or a quick click to bring to the location. Bad AI flying in fleet ships on at a time when its set to overmatch buy 50%. Alliances Constantly asking for peace spam when there is 0 chance of it ever hapening. Your better off playing Stellaris Even late game just feels slow not freezy. Finlay got a game i could probably beet the end game crisis but its so unplayable buy that point.
