Was a bit disappointed with how the base game's gameplay progressed, especially towards the end game, but this DLC was a solid continuation about what I liked before then. It's the first half of a story that's continued by The Brigmore Witches, and it's a really solid start. However I wasn't too interested in the story and more interested in the missions that the DLC offers. To start off, there's no hub to walk around to prepare for your next mission, it's all in a menu you look at before you start a mission where you can restock on gear, buy upgrades, and pay bribes to have an easier time with the game. It does the job and adds an extra layer of budgeting and strategy you can use depending on how much you have and think you'll need. Also killing the assassin buddy that shows up to talk to you every now and then gives you an instant game over. Still didn't stop me from trying. The Slaughterhouse is a fun first mission, especially since the beginning is designed around the fact that you don't have your wallhack magic right from the get-go. Instead it's now the 2nd stage of an ability that now serves the purpose of the Heart in the base game, which made me actually look out for charms and runes since it's not an extra item I have to go out of my way to equip. This mission also has several different ways you can get from the first area into the titular slaughterhouse, with 3 different entrances that I found. Once you're in the slaughterhouse it's not the hardest place to stealth through as long as you don't use the front door, but it does have quite a few areas you can explore and several ways to get to your target, and you're given plenty of choices on how to neutralize him depending on how your moral compass decides. The Legal District starts off kind of meh in my opinion, getting around the checkpoint into the city wasn't that fun, but afterwards it ain't too bad, especially once you get to the villas. The way you take out the target non-lethally is fun, especially since the layout of his villa makes it entertaining to take guards out in order to prepare his downfall. Also don't worry about knocking him out, he'll wake up on his own once you're done setting up the guy's plan to neutralize him. Daud's Hideout was the only mission I wasn't a big fan of. I think it's a cool way to recontextualize a mission from the base game, but I also didn't really like it in the first place and it's not too much better here. The additional objective makes it a bit more interesting, but overall it's just take out a few guards, sneak past guards and annoying magic suppressors, get seen from 3 stories above you and reset, repeat, until you finish. Once you're done with the outside area you basically just use stun mines and win. Overall I enjoyed the DLC, it adds a few interesting mechanics to toy around with and the missions range from tedious to really fun. Would definitely recommend playing if you liked doing non-lethal stealth in the base game. Also your progress carries over into The Brigmore Witches, so don't be stupid and not pick up money in the 3rd mission like me.

A standalone expansion; you become another character with another story. This DLC offers a fresh adventure for you to embark on, with more areas focused on industry & fishing than the previous outing.
Its funny that with the addition of choke bombs non-lethal is even easier as Daud, the assassin who killed the empress. Still a 10/10 dlc, his redemption is a gripping story and the levels are fun.
The Knife of Dunwall would be a great name for an escape room as well as this DLC.
An excellent set of missions where you play as Daud, arguably the coolest, most interesting assassin of any video game. Great missions, cool new powers and gadgets, great dialogue and new lore to soak up. The journals and other notes you find are so interesting to read. Experiencing Daud's internal struggle after throwing the entire world into chaos makes this a must-play.

An absolutely AMAZING DLC! I love it when DLCS are just an additional cool but shorter campaign. LOVE IT! Wow Daud is so cool they should bring him back
