Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.43/day in the week to Aug 30 → 5.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Dig Dug on crack.
A tedious downward spiral lacking mechanical depth. 📉⛏️
The Core Loop is Flawed 🔄 I initially expected strategic routing to be a major part of the gameplay. Instead, the mechanics actively discourage it. Because you cannot toggle the drill off without instantly ending your run, moving left or right causes you to break unintended blocks and waste fuel. The most optimal (and most boring) strategy is to simply point straight down, sit back, and wait for your fuel to drain. There is zero mechanical depth here. Bloated Progression 🌳

Skill Tree: The tree is massively bloated and needlessly overcomplicated by multiple currencies. It should be a quarter of the size so that individual upgrades actually feel impactful.
Fossils (Power-ups): The fossil mechanic is highly underwhelming. You start with a single equip slot and max out at just four (out of sixteen) by the end game. The progression feels stagnant; starting with two slots and unlocking more in pairs would have scaled much better. 🦴
Visual & UI Frustrations 🚫

Controller Support is a Trap: Navigating the massive skill tree with a controller is miserable. Skill descriptions pop up over the node you are currently on, and the selection highlight quickly fades to a barely visible thin white line. It is incredibly easy to lose track of your cursor. Stick to a mouse, or better yet, the game shouldn't have shipped with controller support in this state. 🎮❌
Fever Mode: Activating the "Fever" ability just blurs the screen and hurts your eyes. Whatever mechanical advantage it supposedly provides is completely negated by the visual nightmare it creates. 😵💫
Artificial Grind ⏳ The game does not respect your time. After beating the campaign and maxing out the entire skill tree, the final achievement (mine 300K blocks) forced me to complete 23 extra runs. That equates to 15 minutes of purely mindless busywork: aim down, start the drill, watch the animation, hit 'play again', and repeat. 🏆 Overall, Diggin is a tedious grind heavily weighed down by poorly balanced mechanics and frustrating UI elements. ❌
It's fun!
It's about 5 hours of some quite pretty and tactile nodeslop, if you're not yet tired of the genre, it ranks pretty high. It's not without issues, however. I think a lot of the balancing is askew. There was a point where the VERY expensive "drones" were about 5% as effective as the dynamite that you unlock within your first 10 minutes. If they prioritized special blocks or ores of the highest rarity, that'd be something. The "interactive" part of the game is quickly cast aside, as all your upgrades focus on causing the ground beneath you (as well as everywhere else) to crumble and have you fall away from whatever you were trying to mine. The mouse-controlled abilities are severely undertuned, with miniscule charge even when fully upgraded. The overdrive ability lets you fly, but with such slow recharge and low capacity, you can only properly course correct about 3 times max per run, unless you feel like waiting around and hoping your time-recharged abilities don't cause you to fall even further. I'm also not a fan of how you often have to upgrade a node multiple times to unlock the nodes beyond it. The lack of lateral progression really makes the pacing stagnate at times. So, yeah, it gets rougher the more I think about it. But I don't really have high expectations for "slightly better than a slot machine" type time-wasters. I paid £6 to turn my brain off for 5 hours. It's okay.
Never a dopamine hit, either you're exploding through the rocks or you're hitting a rock and 25% of your fuel is missing. I never felt really powerful, and when you go back to "get to the bottom" on a previous density (how hard the game is) you have a fat layer at the bottom preventing you from continuing. Upgrades are never impactful when you get them, you have to upgrade them which makes unlocking a new power kinda sucky if you *just* have enough resources.
Short and well made, unfortunately you hit the grind very early, around 40min in, and for the rest of the game you're just going through the motions without much excitement from skill unlocks or any new mechanics. The last couple hours of the game are you just starting a run and letting it progress. I found it worth the price but ultimately it's a bit underwhelming.
