Game is a ton of fun in co-op. I see lots of reviews complaining about difficulty, but my friend and I have yet to die or lose a level throughout world 1 so I am unsure of where this comes from.
180 degrees co-op shooter, pretty fun, nothing special but works well.
It's really crasey because you go on a raft thro a river and shoot a bunch of crazy stuff.

♥♥♥♥ Wilde 2, developed by Bolverk Games, is a fast-paced virtual reality shooter that builds upon the swamp-infused chaos of its predecessor while attempting to add more variety, accessibility, and multiplayer fun. The game places players in the shoes of an eccentric handyman armed to the teeth with outlandish weapons, tasked with cleaning up a world overrun by toxic sludge and mutant wildlife. From the moment the game begins, it’s clear that the developers leaned into humor and exaggerated action rather than realism, creating a lighthearted, arcade-style experience designed to keep players moving, dodging, and shooting in frantic bursts of energy. The result is a game that succeeds in delivering straightforward VR fun, even if it doesn’t reach far beyond that ambition. The gameplay in ♥♥♥♥ Wilde 2 centers around on-rails shooting, a format that allows the player to focus entirely on aiming, firing, and dodging incoming projectiles. You ride along on a floating raft through rivers and industrial waterways, facing hordes of mutated enemies ranging from piranhas and alligators to angry birds and mechanical monstrosities. Each level unfolds as a series of short, chaotic encounters punctuated by brief moments to reload, switch weapons, or brace for the next wave. The shooting mechanics are sharp and responsive, and the motion controls—whether on PC VR or other supported headsets—feel natural and satisfying. There’s a tactile pleasure in pumping shotgun shells, launching electric bolts, or tossing explosives at clusters of enemies while ducking behind cover. It captures the energy of classic arcade shooters like *House of the Dead*, but reimagined for virtual reality. One of the main improvements over the first game is the addition of cooperative multiplayer, allowing two players to team up and tackle the campaign together. The inclusion of online co-op adds significant replay value and transforms what could have been a solitary experience into a shared blast of absurdity. Playing with a partner makes the firefights more entertaining, especially when the chaos escalates and communication becomes key to survival. The difficulty scales accordingly, keeping things manageable without being punishing. However, this mode also exposes some of the game’s technical hiccups—occasional lag, inconsistent synchronization, and minor frame rate drops can disrupt the flow, especially during longer sessions. Still, these issues are relatively minor compared to the fun of fending off waves of enemies alongside a friend. Visually, ♥♥♥♥ Wilde 2 embraces a cartoonish, over-the-top aesthetic that fits its comedic tone. The environments are colorful and varied, from polluted rivers to industrial wastelands, and each level carries a sense of handcrafted absurdity. The enemies are intentionally exaggerated, often ridiculous in design, which enhances the game’s personality. The humorous voice work from the titular ♥♥♥♥ Wilde and his exaggerated Southern drawl adds flavor to the experience, giving it a distinct identity among VR shooters that often lean too heavily into realism or grim tones. The overall presentation is vibrant and humorous, though not particularly detailed—textures and models are simple, serving function over visual fidelity. In VR, this simplicity works to the game’s advantage, maintaining smooth performance and clear visibility during intense moments. Despite its charm, ♥♥♥♥ Wilde 2 isn’t without flaws. While the gunplay feels satisfying, the game suffers from repetition after extended play. The enemy variety, while entertaining at first, doesn’t evolve much, and the basic structure of each mission—move forward, shoot waves of enemies, survive—remains largely unchanged. The weapon upgrade system adds some incentive to replay levels, but the progression is shallow, and players may find themselves returning to favorite weapons rather than experimenting with new ones. Difficulty balance is another mixed aspect: the game is less punishing than its predecessor, which broadens its accessibility, but some veterans may find it too forgiving, especially after mastering the movement and aiming mechanics. Conversely, certain sections can still feel overwhelming due to dense waves of projectiles and enemies that can be hard to track simultaneously in VR. The sound design and soundtrack complement the action well, emphasizing the arcade feel with upbeat, exaggerated effects. Each shot, splash, and explosion lands with punchy clarity, reinforcing the physicality of VR combat. The voice acting is intentionally tongue-in-cheek, packed with jokes and exaggerated Southern humor that fit the game’s redneck-inspired swamp setting. The humor can be hit-or-miss depending on one’s taste, but it helps the game avoid taking itself too seriously. That tone—combined with quick, replayable levels—makes ♥♥♥♥ Wilde 2 an easy game to jump into for short bursts rather than long, marathon sessions. Ultimately, ♥♥♥♥ Wilde 2 is a competent and entertaining VR shooter that knows exactly what it wants to be. It doesn’t try to revolutionize the genre or offer deep mechanics, but it provides a consistently fun experience built around movement, reflexes, and over-the-top action. Its strengths lie in its humor, accessibility, and solid gunplay, while its weaknesses stem from limited depth and repetition. For players looking for a casual VR game to enjoy with friends or to fill quick sessions of lighthearted shooting, it delivers exactly that. It’s a goofy, energetic, and occasionally chaotic ride down a mutant-infested river—never particularly profound, but always eager to entertain. Rating: 7/10
